I received a fabulous price for my stay through the hotel deal and with my genius discount. Perfect for an overnight-er in Cairns as we had something on. A simple Hotel room that was very clean, Secure, with a fantastic shower (A decent shower with good water pressure is a box I like to be ticked)... beware the lethal water pressure in the basin. And of course a Great location with Woollworths a few metres away, a bottleo across the road, and a short walk to the Pier and other landmarks. Pity these deals are not available more often. I would have already booked again.

No designated Parking.... however I was aware of that at the time of booking.

Perfect location for visiting Cairns on foot (museum, aquarium, lagoon, esplanade, restaurants or grocery stores) and only a short walk to all major tourism businesses departing for the barrier reef. Combined with easy Bus network (20 min ride to major shopping centre with all big brands you would expect from a capital city, only $4.80 return), and only 6 km from the airport (approx $30 depending on traffic), to me this hotel would be perfect for both short or long stay travellers. Superior Room on 2nd floor super spacious and comfortable, amenities that you would expect from a luxury hotel, yet very affordable for a hotel that is so well located. The complimentary Nespresso coffee machine, available 24/7 on the first floor, was definitely a bonus since there are no eating facilities inside the hotel (but then again, the hotel is about 20 steps from Woollies supermarket, and dozens of restaurants and takeaway shops within 100 metres.) Reception staff all very polite and professional, helped me organise a taxi for my early departure. Check in and check out outside of office hours is very well organised and efficient. Despite being on a major street I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was. Perhaps not the best please for families but for couples or solo travellers this would have to be a recommendation for a stay in Cairns. No swimming pool onsite but the lagoon is only a 5 min walk. Travelled in early January and could not see anything as remains from the cyclone a month ago. Outside temperatures in the mid 30's but inside room aircon works very well, possibly a little too well, I had to adjust it back up to 25. I also very much appreciated the housekeeping rule of every two days only, it always feels such a waste to have the room turned around and cleaned and towels changed unnecessarily every 24 hrs. Good initiative that should be followed by more hotels.

Aircon vibrations at times during the night.

They just made me feel like I was a guest in their home, not just a hotel guest. The location is excellent, a lot of shops (inlding a big supermarket next door) and restaurants short walking distance away. The owners were super accomodating. The rooms are clean. The bed is comphy. I found the pillows especially nice (not too big not to smal just perfect), as pillows in the hotels oftentimes not comfortable at all. And as I mentioned in my previous review (I had two bookings for the place) Nespresso machine on the 1st floor is awesome idea! Water and cookies in the room and by the coffee machine is a nice extra touch. Then they did an extra favor for me that still blows my mind! (but I won't advertise here, just so that it remains their choise whether to do it for others in a similar circumstance :)). Thank you guys it was an amazing stay that I will surely remember!

This little hidden gem is located in the heart of Cairns within easy walking distance to all worthwhile directions in the city centre. Once you are in the building it is very quiet and you wouldn't know you're in town centre! It is clean, modern has great quiet a/c and the room size is just right. Absolutely value for money! The check-in experience was quick and seamless as well.

Parking is a bit tricky because it is 3hr parking only around this block. You can park for longer on the wharf end of Lake st, just a short walk away. It is not a room with a view and there are no opening windows in the room.

We were given information on entering the hotel after hours which was very easy. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was perfect, although the pillows were a little lacking. We got locked out of our room after having dinner. A quick message on the Booking.com app to the property manager and we were given access to our room. The hotel is one street away from the waterfront and all it has to offer. We were given a late check out (12 midday instead of 11am) which made a difference as our flight was later in the afternoon. We were able to leave our luggage while we had a wander round Cairns. The manager, Antonio, was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Location absolutely perfect, we only needed to stay one night but it was within walking distance to some excellent restaurants in Cairns. The room was lovely, small and clean but it had everything we needed for one night. Bed very comfortable. The staff were very friendly, I believe it was the owners I met. They were able to get us checked in a little earlier than usual which was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Cairns!

Could hear a little bit of noise outside in the corridor in the morning but it wasn't that bad! That's the only negative thing I could think of.

Very well located for walking around the main streets of Cairns. Peter gave us a very spacious room and he was very friendly and helpful throughout our two-night stay. Bedroom, bathroom, and sitting area is modern, comfortable and relaxing. There is a lounge area with coffee machine which is an added touch. The hotel is nicely decorated throughout - very welcoming as soon as you walk through the main door. Peter knew local restaurants that would suit our needs - and we were very happy with our choice from those suggestions. He helped with parking when we arrived, and also helped with our taxi when we left (phoned them several times) as there was a delay.

Perfect. The location was fantastic with everything close by. Exceptionality clean and very well maintained. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable bed, great walk in shower, fridge and kettle. Peter was a fantastic host. A great genuine guy who could not do enough for you. Peter booked some trips for us and gave us a generous discount. We enjoyed some great conversation with him and his local knowledge was much appreciated. What more could you want. The Abbott hotel will be our go to place in Cairns. We look forward to returning soon. Thank you Peter for making our stay so memorable. W&D

The location was superb, right in Central Cairns. All tourist information centres, tour operators, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and the beautiful Esplanade were all within walking distance. I had to do some work while there and I loved the comfortable common area with a view of the street below. It was a quiet and relaxing place to stay. The staff were chatty and super helpful.

I can't think of anything. My view of the wall of the next-door building wasn't spectacular, but that's not why I chose this place. I'm the sort of person who drops their bags, goes out to explore and spends all days on tours. A hotel room is a place to rest and sleep. If you're wanting a five-star romantic experience maybe go somewhere else, but if you want clean, comfortable, roomy and safe with a personal touch from the staff stay here.
