The Mantra was an exceptional stay. I am usually picky and extremely particular when it comes to booking accommodation however I was extremely pleased. The value for money was excellent, as we were a 5 minute walk to the centre CBD and a 10 minute walk to sights and stadiums. We had a lovely room, the smallest one you could “stay in” however was large in my opinion. Me and my partner loved this stay, we loved the space we had as well as the cleaning services we were offered upon request.

Honestly, nothing. It was a great stay. The one suggestion I could possibly make would be better dryer as the washer and dryer combination wasn’t the best. Asides from that, it was amazing.

The hotel has the best location. Trams, cafes, restaurants and some landmarks are at an arm’s length. The room was spacious. There was a sofa bed which added more sleeping space

It was difficult to get hold of someone at the reception. There was always a queue of 3-4 people. There was usually only one person there and the same person would be taking calls too. Being the busiest time of the year, the hotel seemed understaffed. There should be a drop box to drop request for room service. I kept calling at the reception and room service to request for it on 31st Dec but couldn’t get through. The reception had a long queue and i couldn’t keep standing in the queue, as I had to leave for a commitment. Ultimately i couldn’t get room service. The hand wash dispenser in our bathroom didn’t work properly and the body cleanser needed a refill.

We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment instead of a one bedroom We had loads of space, beds were very comfy, lovely toiletries and soft towels, (even a face washer Yay!!) Crockery and cutlery were all clean and in good condition. Bonus, little complimentary treats on the dining table were very nice, and not something you see very much anymore so this was impressive. Carpets were clean, couch was comfortable, although way too small for a two bedroom apartment as you could only fit two people on it. The gentleman on the front desk (he didn't have a name tag) was very lovely to deal with

Only noticed small things like marks on the (sheer) curtains, small marks on walls, but mostly things you expect in an older accommodation unit.

I was thrilled with the location, price, room, and view. It was nicer than other rooms I've stayed in the city for more money. It was easy to book online. I paid the full amount when I booked and didn't have to pay any extra bond money when I got there. I've had to pay high bond prices and wait weeks for the refund in less nice hotels.

I just happened to use my phone to scan the QR code to tell me more about the room. The QR code was sitting on the table in the room. I thought the QR information would have been things like how to ues the air con. I was surprised that it said I had to clean all my dishes. It said that a $100 fee could be charged if I left a kitchen mess. I assumed that neatly leaving a few used dishes in the sink would have been okay. I did clean my dishes just to be safe, but was a bit disappointed in that detail considering I always leave my rooms quite tidy. Overall, the room was great but probably could have been a tiny bit cleaner. I noticed some mould on the bottom of windows.

Incredible location and easy process for after hours checking in. The layout of the apartment was great and had everything I needed.

Needed more attention to detail with the cleaning. The spare blankets had not been refolded and were rolled in a messy ball. When I removed the spare quilt to place on the bed, it was covered in stains. The place has a subtle dirty/stagnant water smell and the cupboard that had the washing machine inside had the hot water system on top of a filthy stand - felt dusty and dirty so I closed the cupboard even though I needed to complete some washing.

Location was great. We got a two-room apartment for 2 adults/3 teenagers. Staff at reception were happy (and quick) to remake the second double bed into two single beds at our request. Communal area of apartment was large, proper table, kitchen facilities, washing machine. Windows that opened which was nice.

Neither bedroom had windows, One room was tiny, no lamps and overhead light switch was outside the room. The other room had a broken bedside lamp (which was taken away by staff but not replaced). Glass door on shower doesn't cover enough so water went everywhere each time it was used.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Perfect location, I was able to walk everywhere. Room was very easy to find, with excellent security measures in place(as a solo travel girly). Great value for money, and great facilities, namely bathtub and free wi-fi 😊

Cleanliness of the living room windows & coffee table and bedside table lamps could have been better. Everywhere else was perfectly clean :) And the option for a smart tv plug in (Google home etc) if I were staying longer would be nice but not essential.

We were given an upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment which was lovely and the views were lovely. The staff were friendly and the room layout was very spacious especially for the price.

The room smelt of someone cooking when we arrived, which didn’t bother us greatly but some air fresheners would of been nice. The carpet had suspicious white stains, the sheer curtains once drawn had stains covering all of them which was really very gross. The cutlery was very scratched up and still had food on it from poor washing. Very minor cleaning things that could be easily fixed. In the morning there was construction of some type happening next to our room from 7-8am which surely could be done from check out time onwards since people are paying to get sleep ins on holidays.

The staff where so polite, location great, cleanliness was above average for a Melbourne Motel (Myself and partner stayed in quite a few last few months). We asked for a high room and ended up with a room at the top of the building with a lovely view. There was a lovely little welcome pack which was a very nice touch.

It was a little tired but at the price I paid I am not complaining. The only thing I was surprised is that the the motel does not take a deposit using an EFTPOS terminal like most motels I have stayed in, rather they take your card and manually enter the number.... not great these days as it leaves a venerable point of possible fraud and unwarranted accusations against front of house staff if the number on the credit card is compromised. The Manager stated it was the Hotel's Policy which I have to say is pretty out dated.

Mantra 100 exceeded all expectations. As the price was fair I wasn't expecting such a great apartment. The apartment was spacious, had a great kitchen, large bedrooms & bathroom. It was in a prime location for spending the weekend in the city. Nowhere was too far to walk - the laneways were around the corner and the museum was a short walk. Parking was also very convenient and surprisingly cheap. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be going back again.

The breakfast is just a breakfast in a box - don't bother especially if you are coeliac like me. I think this should have been noted on the Booking.com site. When I told the hotel I couldn't have that breakfast they instantly refunded the money so no problem at all.
