Great staff who are always willing to help. The location is amazing situated across the road from Flinders train station, a few minutes walk from Southbank and close to cafes, restaurants, city centre etc. Regular events for travellers. Kitchen is a decent size and has a co work area with mini privacy pods that you can use if you need a quiet space to work in. Beds are comfortable and clean with privacy curtains and a locker next to bed to keep belongings in. Laundry is in basement and accepts debit/credit card (located if you walk past the bar and past the curtain). $6 for washing and $5 for dryer (at time of this being posted). Make sure you keep your swipe on you as you need it to access hostel out of hours (entrance), toilets/showers, floors in lifts etc. All in all - a great quality hostel. Will definitely be staying here again at some point.

The staff are super friendly and organise lots of fun activities. The beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. Kitchen was great and cleaned by staff several times a day. Bathroom was nice and showers were really good- great water pressure. Cinema room is excellent, loads of comfy bean bags and pillows, air con and Netflix etc on the TV. Truly excellent location, minutes away from the tram and train.

The rooms were very very hot. There are fans which help with air circulation, but not the temperature. The rooms could really do with some air con, it would make this hostel near perfect. The lockers in the bed are big which is handy for storage but really gets in the way, I kept bumping myself on it and it was a bit annoying to get in and out of.

My favorite hostel in Melbourne. :) The location is great, the common area is good and the vibe is nice. The staff are the best though! Miguel and Dan and Rachel and team are always so helpful. And Silvia and Jessi are the hardest working staff I know! They always keep it so clean and helpful and friendly too! They're always running around keeping it so clean and tidy but always so positive and friendly and helpful too. It's amazing to see such happy and hard working staff keeping this place a solid 10! By far one of the best hostels in Melbourne. I wish they were in all cities in Austrailia but hopefully one day. Facilities are great, plenty of bathrooms and showers which were all clean. The beds are great you can have your own privacy and chill out. You've a blackout curtain across the bed making sleeping easier and privacy easy. Light, plugs, small shelf and a locker in the bunk too. Location is perfect you are within 20 minutes walk to basically everything and have tons of public transport. Staff are awesome and friendly. There's tons of events daily if you want to meet people. Bonus, they have a cafe next door with great coffee and food and you get 15% off as a guest in the hostel.

The only reason I'm not giving a 10 here is because at the weekend the noise can be a bit noisy as you are so central however ear plugs fix that easy enough but it was my only issue. Even still it's usually quiet again early enough.

Being able to book late the same night. Great location just opposite Flinders Street Railway Station. Super central, and convenient for travellers. From arrival, the pleasant greeting after midnight arrival, was appreciated, efforts to explain how the security system worked. My queries on where things were as the room was dark, were answered etc The facilities in the dorm with individual lights, individual lockers at bed level, comfortable and sparkling white bed linen, a fully made bed with doona cover, and comfortable pillow, personal curtain along the dorm bed, sufficient floor space, and high ceilings so not cramped, Facilities were clean, especially the modern bathrooms. Impressed how quiet the room was, with no noise from Flinders St. There was a quiet atmosphere on arrival, controlled pleasant environment so people could sleep. Kitchen and living common areas were clean and well located away from dorms etc.

Getting multiple emails from booking.com and selina when the confirmation had been given, about downloading apps, pre-checking in, etc etc. Just the first two were needed, one from booking.com and one from selina. The person below me in the dorm snored so I did not have sufficient sleep but that was not selina's fault. Signs said food must be labelled but it was hard to find where the labels were for naming the bag of food to put in the refrigerator. Some noise from outside the building, but not road noise in the morning. Probably difficult to avoid or fix? Deliveries?

They are located in the heart of Melbourne, close to everything and free-zone tram. Bedrooms are big and cleaned. Stayed in a 6 bed female dormitory first, which I was worried about having so many people in the room, however, room was amazing. We had plenty space for everyone, there was a bathroom inside the room, so we didn’t need to share the outside one, everything was cleaned and organised, and lucky me, the girls were so nice and respectful. Then I decided to extend my stay and the room was fully booked, so I booked a 6 mixed dormitory. The manager was amazing and give me an upgrade to a double room, so I didn’t need to share the room and it was fantastic! I didn’t use the common areas as kitchen and cinema.

First stay, the room bathroom didn’t have enough toilet paper, so I recommend them to leave more there. For the shared outside toilet, it was a bit dirty.

Bunk beds are large and comfy, and bathrooms are really clean. The staff is so helpful! And the hostel is really well located, really central in Melbourne. The curtains on the bed are a real plus!

The location of the locker inside the upper bunk bed is weird and forces to sneak in, as it's already not always easy to climb up! The big minus is the kitchen: too small for the size of the hostel and not enough space in the fridges so everything is over packed inside and smells bad (I had no space to add my own food)

Always a pleasure to stay at Selina (now Roamer) in Melbourne cbd. Close to everything you need. Cafes, shops, Flinders train station, tram stops and alot more. Beds (come with privacy curtains) are always clean on arrival and cleaners do a great job keeping the place toilets, showers etc well maintained round the clock. Washer ($7.30) and dryer ($6) in basement downstairs past the bar. Takes card/mobile payment and your own laundry detergent not required as hostel provides this which is another plus! Staff are always friendly and accommodating with whatever you may need. Always events going on here as well but I never have time to go. Thanks to all the staff here for making the place nice n easy to be in and out whenever I stay in city to be closer to work. Appreciate your hard work.

Can be a little noisy with construction outside but earplugs seem to do the trick n they usually finish drilling/noises around 8/9ish.

Absolutely adored my short stay at Roamer. You could not be in any better of a location, and as a solo traveller, there is never an absence of fun and social activities hosted by the hostel to keep yourself busy. The staff are absolutely lovely and so helpful, the rooms are clean and more than comfortable with a good amount of storage. Showers/bathrooms are plentiful and well maintained in each floor. There are plenty of spaces to lounge around when not in your own room and I found the people there to be very inviting. You are in the center is the city, so expect a little street noise/light, but that is to be expected. Kitchen facilities are bountiful, and well maintained, but fair warning, the fridge/food storage situation leaves a teeny bit to be desired, just could use a touch more organization, but I think one was getting fixed as I left, so perhaps this has been handled. All in all, you couldn’t go wrong staying here ✨

Very central location bustling with interesting cafes, restaurants, shops, the river and train station. Staff went above and beyond, specifically Emily and Nabila, to help with a special request I had. There are various activities taking place pretty much every day. Paid (with credit card) laundry facilities are available (soap is automatically included, don't need your own). There are a few small cabins/work spaces for people who want to make calls or work by the kitchen, which was a really cool bonus. Beds are very comfortable, too.

Small detail for feedback - at least one of the refrigerators in the kitchen could use a deep clean.
