October 2024

The room was very large with 2 double beds and the bathroom was spacious. They gave us a room with balcony, which is very nice to breath spring fresh air. The room was very modern and clean. The hotel services was very nice and quick to respond. We believe the price of $300 a night for this hotel is reasonable. One more thing, the hotel is close to all the activities in downtown Melbourne, very close to great restaurants and broadway theater, museum, river walk and many more. Great place to stay to discover downtown Melbourne.

The parking was expensive, since we rented a car, it cost about $100 a day for valet parking at the hotel. The meal also very expensive for a simple burger is around $45, I think $25-$30 burger is reasonable.

Great location, easy check-in, comfortable bed, clean well appointed room

Awful coffee in room ( no pod machine or coffee plunger coffee, weak awful coffee bags), tea bags were not much better. For a high end 5-star hotel, could do better on these little things. Our room on level 5 had a view of a concrete wall, a higher room or on other side of the buoy would have been better. Duvet cover felt very cheap and synthetic. No top sheet on bottom cotton sheet. Had some trouble getting room temperature comfortable- woke up in the night hot, then cold.

It was so nice to arrive to such a clean, well presented, modern accommodation. It was so spacious, comfy, quiet. Staff were very efficient and kind. I walked and explored Melbourne and really enjoyed the fact the hotel was so close to everything, I could walk to and from a concert at The Forum with no issue at all. The hotel is beautiful.

The only issue I had was that I couldn't locate a PowerPoint for the hair-dryer in the bathroom and I couldn't locate a PowerPoint for the kettle that was near a bench. Both kettle and hair-dryer I had to plug in to the point near the hallway, which meant the kettle sat on the floor to boil ! No drama though. Just odd :)

The Westin is beautifully presented and is an iconic Melbourne 5 star hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, within brief walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping, theatres and transport. I was fortunate to have a city facing room that was very generous in size. The bed was so comfortable! I loved the soundproofing and block out curtains, and the enormous bathroom. The hotel staff were approachable and responsive at all times, even offering an umbrella to take out with me when it was raining. I very much enjoyed my stay!

The only thing I would say is that the food options are limited to the lobby bar-lounge, and timing is a little restricted. However, the meals and drinks I had there were very tasty if not extensive.

The staff were welcoming and always friendly during our stay. The breakfast food selection was excellent. The room size was very comfortable and the location was perfect for our 3-day city centre adventure, with everything we wanted to explore within either walking or free-tram distance.

Only two minor issues come to mind. 1. Whilst the room size was very comfortable, the seating was insufficient for 3 people (2 adults and 1 5yr old) to be able to sit comfortably simultaneously, with 2 people having to sit on a bed. A pet peeve of mine. 2. Accessing Netflix, YouTube, Internet, etc was unnecessarily complicated. A selection icon on the main menu should be available without having to sign-in using personal details - access should be available as standard as part of the room rate. As I said earlier, both were minor irritations and didn't overly detract from our stay.

Everything was great. good area Excellent access to the sea to the city center. For shopping malls, the only thing that should be mentioned is that the hotel is 7 floors. And the upper floors are residential, and I chose the deluxe room, which has a large balcony in the photo. (Of course, my room had a balcony and was very small). But after arriving at the hotel, I realized that my room is on the 4th floor. Of course, because we had a great time, overall the hotel was excellent

What a great location! We don't get to Melbourne often and have stayed further out in the past. Being smack in the middle of the CBD and close to the trams was exceptional. The staff and service were brilliant, and our room was spacious and clean. Staying at the Westin was a luxury for us and a perfect place to wind down.

I was a little puzzled about the service fee of $150 for our 3 night stay. On reflection, I guess that tipping staff with cash doesn't happen anymore. I've not thought that it was an Australian custom, and I hope the service staff actually get it!

Have stayed in many different hotels across Melbourne, and this felt like one of the fanciest. The service is what makes it, the staff treat everyone like they’re special clients, which gives it the ‘fancy’ feel. The valet parking although expensive, was a great service, the buffet breakfast is lush with your own juicing options and protein pancakes, and the rooms are lovely and quiet. The location is brilliant for the Regent Theatre and loads of great shops and restaurants. It’s pricey, but we couldn’t fault it.

Bit pricey

Great location, check in was easy and quick, beautiful bedding/linen, good choice of food at breakfast.

Although there is a lot of seating in the lobby for guests ordinarily, there was very limited or no seating for guests when lunch and afternoon tea is being served in that area. We had an hour or so after checking out before going to the airport and we couldn't find a place to sit. We didn't plan to eat at this time. However, a staff member did manage to find a spot for us amongst the diners.
