What you read in the other reviews about the extraordinary friendliness of the staff, its zeal to welcome and accommodate you, is absolutely true and explains the sky-high rating. It’s true not only when you arrive, but all through your stay. I was here for six days. There’s a nice “phonotek” lounge where you can play records and sip wine (on the honor system) or, for me, just enjoy reading in a room bigger than a single. I didn’t have breakfast here because I don’t like having it in a windowless room, which at night becomes a rather classy bar I did frequent. Right next door there is a tiny place with excellent coffee, and just up the street there is a fine 19th-century Vienna cafe with huge picture windows. The hotel is off a bustling commercial street. In the hotel you hear no street noise, but if you forgot to pack enough socks, that’s easily remedied. The subway is there, not a full block away, to take you to the center of town in 5-6 minutes. Heat is plentiful —I was there in January— and so is hot water. There is an elevator, though in an old building, well renovated as it is, there are still half-flights of stairs to deal with. (Not to worry, the porters will happily take care of all your luggage coming and going.) The Westbahnhof (not the main train station) is a ten-minute walk away, one stop, if you want an excursion.

I did not find the room too small. If it had been bigger, I would have made it messier. But the mattress was not sufficiently comfortable for the price per night, my only complaint. It is very easy to get to the center, but the hotel itself is not really in it, though conveniently close.

There was a hand written postcard and beautiful journal waiting for me as I entered my room. I think this has got to be the best welcome I've ever received in a room. It didn't stop there though, the slippers, bathrobe and complimentary spritzer helped make me feel spoiled and taken care of. The decor was sumptuous and luxurious and I absolutely loved the shower room. Would definitely recommend Hotel Josefine if you want to feel pampered whilst staying in Vienna.

I love a cup of tea so the only down side, I found, was there was no kettle or tea making facilities in the room.

Location was perfect for me. It was close to 2 U3 U-bahn, walking distance to shops in case you didn't bring enough clothes, and nice independent cafés (U-Boot). I like how the design of the rooms tried to maximize the space. They have a phonotek room with a big selection of records for you to choose from and play.

Not sure about the bed design, thinking it is supposed to be a day bed. It is really just for one person, but it still felt small (and I am not big). There was no desk, which I didn't check of course. I had to work and used the phone table. Didn't like the scent of the shower gel, lotion and shampoo, rosemary, kinda reminded me of lamb chops. Perhaps give guests some option (I brought my own).

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. We chose Josefine because of it close location to the less touristic center (yet you can still go to the museums in ~15 min on foot) and its beautiful interior. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We had to send back a few heavy parcels with UPS and the the staff was so kind to keep all our parcels in their office for UPS to pick them up!! They were so nice and friendly! In addition this hotel is dog friendly and our little dog got a waterbowl (which is not common for most hotels which allow dogs) The guests also get free slippers, a bathrobe, a free bottle of wine and water. And all of that for a very fair price. Motel ONE where we usually stay is more expensive than Josefine and doesn't have all these extras plus it doesn't have such a beautiful interior. Speaking of the interior, everything is styled in 1920 fashion and you can listen to beautiful songs from this golden age in their launch. The hotel also has a bar in which we spent all our evenings! It's all so stylish and beautiful that you think you are in 1920 Vienna! So beautiful, we will visit again!

The bar has too many cocktails which makes it impossible for the staff to make each of them excellent (if you are so spoiled as we are and have ever been to a bar that makes excellent cocktails you can spot the difference otherwise you will probably be satisfied) . But we still went there and enjoyed or time as the atmosphere was cozy and the intreiour so fashionable.

I love the theme of this hotel based upon a "fictitious?" Josefine. The decor is unique, plush, colorful yet totally workable and comfortable. There is plenty of lighting in the room and it can be controlled with one switch or at each lamp or light to customize your lighting. The hotel shampoo, body gel and lotion have a delightful fragrance. The lounge music on the room "radio" was perfect for the setting. The downstairs Club Barfly was outstanding! The bartenders are professionals and reading the "book" of cocktails was fun! Although the decor invokes a long-ago era all the modern conveniences are provided. The room air conditioner chilled the room to our cool standards. The public areas are not nearly as cool as we generally like, but that's understandable and totally fine.

The room was very comfortable; bed linens were crisp yet soft and the bed was luxurious. However, there was no storage space. I like to unpack, store my suitcase out of sight and keep my room tidy. There was nowhere to place clothes other than to keep them in the suitcase which was visible the entire stay. Not my style, but probably acceptable to most travelers.

Breakfast was delicious. Hôtel bar was brilliant. The staff went above and beyond. Beautiful rooms. Service was really really good, good recommendations and assistance getting back to the airport quickly. Welcome note, book and wine in the room were a very very nice touch and made us feel special. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

I do wish the shower & loo had a real door on it, even if the sink was kept in the room. The service was really great, this hotel is fantastic, to take it to the next level as a little touch it would be nice if they arranged our toiletries neatly and tidied the room a little more.

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world and this one was my favorite of all. Booking experience: was very smooth, they wrote me beforehand to ensure all was good Location: perfect for everything Hotel vibe: magical. I loved every detail. The place is so curated to the tiniest detail and so well made. And they added some special little things everywhere. Room: I cannot stress enough how beautiful and comfy the room was. I felt like a princess. Bar: superb decor, amazing mixology and wonderful vibe.. such a special place Breakfast: pure love Staff was always helpful and prepared.

Beautifully appointed room! Rich jewel-toned colors abound in this finely decorated room. Every detail, from the antique phone to the light fixtures were romantic and inviting! We loved the personalized welcome card and complimentary wine! So thoughtful! When we checked in the staff spoke excellent English and was very helpful. When we checked out the kind staff member at the desk even mailed my post cards! Outstanding attention to guest comfort and kindness! The bathroom was very modern and beautiful too. Being so close to the subway (U-Bahn) was very convenient.

It took us a moment to figure out the lights at night. If you turned off the main switch in the room, there was no night light for finding your way to the bathroom if needed in the middle of the night. There was another switch at the bedside that worked to turn off all the lights. Perhaps a plug in night light would help. It was unfortunate that breakfast was not included at this price even though a separate restaurant did serve coffee and breakfast on-site.

Amazing room at a perfect location, just off a main shopping street, few minutes from bus and metro stations with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel is very unique, beautifuly decorated and full of character. Our room had a lovely street view, excellent bed and very quiet, even when there was a show just outside the hotel. There is a small terrace on the roof which offers nice views and peaceful place to relax.

The shower and bathroom share a common sliding door - when one is closed, the other is open. Slightly challenging when sharing a room...

Everything 🤩. I loved the hotel concept and the little details. It's a really well thought hotel. I was hesitant to book at first as the pictures make it look dark and dated, it was really far from reality. It is a well maintained building and the room had a lot fun details (a dial old phone, a vintage looking Bluetooth speaker)the stories in the welcome booklet. Do yourself a favor and experience this great hotel.

I didn't like the fact I didn't stay longer. It was great. If I got to be picky, the blanket was a bit small, other than that it was great
