Hotel Sagarnaga was a great place to stay. Centrally located in the old part of town, the hotel was mere minutes of walking from nearby attractions, cafes and restaurants. Depending on the room, depended on your view, the hotel also had a great breakfast and an onsite masseuse. We stayed a number of times during our trip to Bolivia, the rooms were always clean and the staff were exceedingly helpful. I would stay again.

There was not much not to like, the hotel was a little rough around the edges but this added more charm than distracted from our stay.

Lovely stay, we arrived very early from an overnight bus and the room was already available so they let us check in early. They also offered that we could switch our last breakfast to that morning too. Lovely rooms with nice bathrooms and hot showers. Great breakfast

This would have been a 10 rating however checkout was a little disappointing. They tried to charge us again for the room even though we had bank and email statements proving that it had been taken through booking.com, they weren't happy with this proof until the manager came and verified it all. Made us run late for our bus. Disappointing end to a lovely stay.

The location of this property was perfect. Close to everything we wanted. Markets, travel agents, atms etc…

The room description stated it had a hairdryer, it did not. There was a glass panel over the door which lit the room up overnight from the corridor lights. We upgraded to a spacious room, which it wasn’t. We only stayed a couple of nights so we didn’t mention these points and didn’t want the trouble of changing rooms for such a short stay. Breakfast was ok.

There is no perfection in this world and hotel Sagarnaga is no exception to that. But it is the closest to the goal in this price range. Genuine kindness of the staff, apsolutely unique location, top floor penthouse room for us with incredible views 360° (ask for it when booking), great breakfast, tour desk in the lobby, pubs, peñas and restaurants just around the block. Sagarnaga is already a brand.

Taking into account the location, it could get noisy in the evening, especially when there is an open air concert at the nearby Plaza San Francisco. But that's part of the package.

I stayed as well on the start as end of my trip to Bolivia at hotel sagarnaga. A great place to stay in La Paz. The location is very near the (turistic) centre of the city. As well the manager as the other personel is amazing. Very friendly people, ready to help you when needed. Arranging taxi's, advicing, helping out with a local simcard, recommendations and more. Also early check in and late checkout was no problem.

One of the rooms I slept in was next to the elevator which could make a lot of noise sometimes.

The staff at this was hotel. They helped more than expected, since I got Covid when I was there, and had to isolate in my room for several days, and was too sick to go anywhere -- so I stayed in my hotel room for almost 2 full weeks. The managers Hugo and Cecelia were amazing - both very fluent in English - helped me find medical care, including a doctor who came to my room for medical visits; helped me arranging new flights to go home earlier than planned; helping me in every way possible. I had breakfast delivered to my door and they offered to deliver all meals (but my friends helped me with that), They gave me a portable heater and extra blankets, because I was very cold. The front desk staff, including Willie and Fernando and many others (available at all hours) were also terrific - always helpful! The hotel was also exciting because of so many travelers from many countries staying there to do the ice climb to the top of Huayani Potosi, the 20,000 foot mountain near La Paz. The restaurant in the hotel (Tambo) was good and again, the staff was excellent.

The showers never got warm.

Upon check in I was greeted by a fine & lovely gentleman named Hugo who assisted me with the check in process. He said the room was ready so I could check in early which was much appreciated after a long haul flight. The room size was okay. Although the hotel is old, it was clean & well maintained.

My only suggestion is to add more toiletries. I only got 1 wee soap which was not enough to wash my body. There was not even a shampoo.
