I thought the service was great. We couldn’t fault it. Everyone working there was super helpful when we needed it. The location was only a short walk into Downtown. The facility was rigged to walk into, however it is aging and this is noticeable however it’s certainly worth more then 3 stars. The pool and sauna were under maintenance while we were there however neighbouring hotels had pools and we were able to use them if we wanted. The bed was super comfy and I had a great sleep after hiking and the housekeeping did a great job. Id really recommend that the bathrooms are upgraded, new carpets and a lock of paint will really apprise the place up a lot.

No complaints from us

I liked the comfy bed! Also that “The Keg” was on site! The breakfast could have served more fresh fruit and especially some more cereals. I was very disappointed there was no muesli or granola, nuts, raisins etc. only very poor choices of Rice Krispies and Cornflakes. Oatmeal should have definitely been on the Continental Menu not the full breakfast.

Breakfast could have been better. No fibre-full, tasty granola or muesli or All-bran or bran muffins, only sweet fare. I was very sorry that the pool and hot tub/spa were closed for maintenance. Luckily we were able to have the use of the “Fox” down the road which was nice.

The short 15 minute walk from downtown Banff and all its amenities was a major plus, and the main reason we chose the hotel. The attached Keg restaurant was a nice surprise! Very friendly and helpful staff, they make an effort to answer your questions, volunteer information and advice, and ensure you're aware of options and services. We didn't get a chance to use the pool/spa facilities because of our short stay and busy schedule but those looked nice as well.

1) The parking garage area (close to the large ski/snowboard lockers) does smell like sewage, both when we arrived and when leaving two days later. For guests who visit by car, this is their first experience of the Lodge and it clashes with the otherwise excellent service and environment that Banff delivers. This garage should be cleaned, renovated and better ventilated. 2) The side stairwells. Similar to #1, should be cleaned, renovated and better ventilated. They do smell strongly of cooking oil. Not a huge deal for us, but it would enhance the perception of the Lodge. 3) Room lighting. Rather dim (faded yellow). A more fresh lighting could make the rooms feel more premium. Friendly suggestions! We enjoyed the Banff Caribou Lodge.

Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Lovely fireplace in lobby that was used daily, cozy. Family friendly, underground parking. Friendly staff. clean rooms, loved Rocky Mountain Soap products!

From photos online the hot pool looked like an actual swimming pool. It was a very hot large hot tub, felt a little disappointed. Please refer to this as a large hot tub advertising online. Not near as big as pictured. We were disappointed in this feature, useless for families to enjoy. would a preferred an actual swimming pool for the kids to enjoy.

We had a superior king room for 3 nights. it was very spacious and the bed was comfy. The on site restaurant and bar was also good. There was no air con in the room but fortunately we could open the window and as we were at the rear of the hotel it was not noisy. The location is good and only a short walk to downtown, though we were given free bus passes which we used to get to the gondola which we were also able to book along with the car hire in the hotel which was also very convenient.

it was all good had a good stay

We stayed over the Christmas period. Lovely rustic reception area. Christmas tree and fire lighting in the foyer gave a really welcoming atmosphere. Fantastic food in the Keg Steakhouse. We ate there nearly everyday. Breakfast was wonderful and the evening menu had a great variety of high quality and tasty food. Very helpful and friendly staff. Warm and comfortable rooms. Very quiet considering our room faced the street and the hotel was busy. Walking distance from the town centre. Safe underground parking. Highly recommend this hotel. Excellent value for money. Deserves a higher star rating

I had no complaints at all.

Room was good, beds were comfortable, restaurant and bar were very good, especially the wait staff. The location was very good and the underground parking was very helpful.

There was no A/C and the room was pretty warm. We had to open the window and the front door to try to cool it down. Also, the swimming pool/spa/exercise room were closed for 5 days and it wasn't going to another facility that was offered. I would have appreciated a credit or a free drink or something to compensate.

Room was cozy and my kids enjoyed the stay. We stayed on a weekend so it was crowded and we were close to the spa and lobby so it can be a bit noisey. However, durign the night the family had a good rest and really didn't impact on oru sleep. The lobby is beatiful with the lovely smell of the chimney with the wood stove is a nice touch to sit while drinking coffee after an outdoors walk. We went to celebrate our anniversary and the fact that the Keg Restaurant is in the premises was superconvenient. We left our kids playing with their tables, my wife and II went to the restaurant and could enjoy a lovely and romantic supper. We were skyping with the kids that were having fun on their own. Perfect night.

The only is that body soap was over and we requested to be refilled, We went out for a walk and by the time We arrived and wanted to take a shower, there box was still empty, we just ended up squeezing as much as we could to properly shower, but might be a minor issue.

I have stayed at numerous hotels in Banff and although this one is one of the furthest away from the main avenue (it's not a problem in the summer, just expect an uncomfortable walk back in minus temps but there are taxis,) it's probably my favorite. I especially love the decor and the crackling fireplace in the lobby. They have a Keg House as part of the hotel, I didn't dine there but it was open late along with the spa which is great. The beds were super comfortable, and the room was clean. We had a court yard view and it was beautiful in the morning with all of the snow. I like the heated underground parking and everything is easily accessible via elevator. I took my dog and they also offered her a small toy and a treat.

Only 1 bag of regular coffee when there were two of us in the room and the bathroom door did not lock and also the coffee pot leaked.

Great location, nice and helpful staff, beautiful lobby, nice rooms, and we loved the hot pool - which is just a pool sized hot tub that was great to soak in after hiking. The location was close enough to downtown for a quick walk to any restaurant or shop, but just far enough away to be out of the crowds and noise. Plenty of parking underneath, we never had issues parking a large Durango.
