The location and the grounds where Kokoro is located are amazing. Even if we couldn't see the volcano because of the rain, it felt like we were in a lost jungle paradise. The private hot springs are a real plus! The staff were all exceptionally helpful and welcoming, especially on New Year's Eve, when the sweet owner organized a little party for the hotel guests with speeches, live music and awards.

The only thing that I thought it could have been a little better was the food served in the New Year's Eve buffet, but everything else was well organized and clean.

Beautiful location, surrounded with amazing nature, just perfect! The mineral bath was the best!! Comfy beds, nice tiny house, everything clean! Thank you!

Everything! The host's attitude toward the customers was extremely helpful - she accommodated all our requests and went out of her way to make our stay better. In fact, the entire staff was excellent (including the Gardner who came in early to show us sloths on the property). Do not plan any outings (even transportation and food) without first consulting the host - she will get you the best price. Finally, the property and the cabins are so pretty.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Amazing personnel. Enjoying just being at the hotel. Very relaxing. Good option of restaurant with simple menu, but good food. 15 min trail. Wild life frogs, tucan, slauth and so on. The wild life is free and could or not be found during your stay, this is really natural.

Transportation ideal if you rented a car. At the reception they provide help to go to LaFortuna and other destinations, but it could take 10-15 min to arrive.

We are here during the rainy season and did not anticipate seeing the top of the volcano, however, we were able to see it on several different occasions from our Kina and the view was incredible. We loved walking around the property. It was so beautiful! The breakfast had lots of choices and the location was also great. Front desk staff were super helpful in directing us around the property. Two in our party had massages by the mineral Springs and said they were some of the best massages they’ve ever had and they were half the price of what they would pay at home. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well at night to help reduce the humidity. We rented two separate cabanas for two couples, and they were both quite large and had good showers.

I was a little disappointed with the mineral Springs. It was smaller than I anticipated, but we still enjoyed the three different temperatures of the pools and then getting into the cold swimming pool afterwards. The spring was like being in a sauna so the cool swimming pool felt great. There was a traditional hot tub by the pool, but it did not seem to be in operation.

The view of Arenal Volcano from our porch was outstanding. I loved having our own building for our room. The hot springs felt amazing, it was so hot we could only handle the 1st one. The breakfast was good. You can get coffee and snacks anytime at the reception. It’s a Japanese styled resort and the overall feeling was super relaxing.

There were some hills to walk up and down on a paved sidewalk to get to the hot springs. The mattresses on the beds weren’t the most comfortable but after sitting in the hot springs, I had no trouble falling asleep.

AMAZING views!!! The pool was fantastic. Breakfast buffet was a hit with everyone in my family. The AC worked great. We loved how many animals we saw on property! (Sloths, pizotes, agouti, so many birds, toucans, etc). The hot springs were relaxing and lovely but not always "running". Loved that we were basically across the street from the Sloffee Coffee cafe and a quick drive to many restaurants and sights.

The rooms are quite dark (one lamp didn't have a lightbulb) and the bathrooms didn't feel like they'd had a proper deep clean for a long time (particularly the shower). Lots of mildew. Expected it to be a little cleaner.

Hotel Kokoro is such a special property with beautifully manicured grounds nestled into the jungle. The staff were all very welcoming and so kindl! One of the grounds keepers, Francisco, found us in the pool to show us a sloth resting in a tree just near the mineral baths! He then kindly treated us to fresh coconuts from a tree onsite! He was so gracious and certainly made our final day one for the books! Muchos gracias Francisco!! The rooms were wonderful, big & spacious, each with a nice outdoor space! Breakfast was nice and simple, making for a delicious start to the day! And the location was perfect as Kokoro is just a few minutes drive outside of downtown La Fortuna but also super close to the public hot spring river, just up the road. And the Kokoro mineral baths were incredible! Before arriving, we had considered booking a day at one of fancy & expensive hot spring/spa resorts but there was no need. Kokoro provided such a peaceful & quiet hot spring experience with multiple levels ranging from very hot to more mild temps and a lovely pool to cool off in as well! We would come back to Kokoro & La Fortuna in a heartbeat and would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers looking for a relaxed & calm hotspring experience! We only wish we had more time!! The staff at Hotel Kokoro was amazing. Everyone was helpful and friendly. They had excellent recommendations for what to do around town and two different staff members pointed out the sloth they have on property. The cabins are rustic but the true magic of this hotel are the grounds and the employees. This property is absolutely beautiful. Some of the property needs work like the hot tub near the pool and the rooms arent all updated, but they are still comfortable.The staff is very friendly shout out to Didier he was very nice and went above and beyond in terms of customer service. There was also many animals on the property like lizards, frogs, wild turkeys and ofcourse the sloth!

I wish the water in the shower was warmer.

Beautifully landscaped. So many different flowers and shrubs. Lots of wildlife. The lobby area is absolutely gorgeous. Yes it was a bit dated in some areas, like the pool, but he can’t expect it to be perfect given the price point. We thought it was very good value for how lovely the accommodations were and how wonderful the staff was.

The pool area was a bit dated and could use a good power wash, but really, everything else was just lovely. It also didn’t stop us from fully using all of the amenities. Everything still functioned as it should.
