Great communication before we arrived. Location excellent , easy to walk to sites in the city and also to use bus pick up points. Good selection of food at breakfast. Bakery on site really useful for food to take out on trips. Room was well equipped, always warm and comfortable. The whole hotel is kept very clean, staff always around cleaning and tidying communal areas. Coffee machine in reception area great for a quick drink before heading out and when returning to hotel. Good selection of food in the restaurant attached to the hotel , good service and reasonably priced. This is not a luxurious hotel, it is quirky/edgy/industrial design and may not suit all tastes. However we really liked it and the Exeter does everything you need exceptionally well. Would definitely stay again.

Some areas of our room could have had a brighter light …but not really an issue.

. The hotel is immaculately designed and is the most stylish I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The room was also a great size and had everything, from a large comfortable double bed to a roomy bathroom, and this made relaxing in the room fun. Rather uniquely, the room included a Nespresso machine and portable speaker! . There were also other areas in the hotel lobby which were comfortable to spend some downtime in and watch the football matches. . The location of the hotel is really convenient as it’s across the road from one of the main bus stops and a few minutes walk to the main shopping streets. The beautiful harbour is also close by. . The staff were all really friendly and attentive, which we really appreciated. A special shout-out to the receptionists as they made check-in and check-out seamless. . The price for our room was quite fair, given what was included with our stay. This is especially as Reykjavik is generally pricey!

. The hotel breakfast was great but I think more hot food options or greater variety each morning would have been wonderful. . A small mirror on the dressing table should be added - this was the only thing we missed in the room.

Great rooms. Everything you need. Fridge was great to have, plus speaker..coffee machine. Breakfast was one of the best in hotels I've had. Great selection with super healthy filling options including a lovely fruity porridge, lots of fruit, delicious sour dough bread and loads of options for either north Europan style egg, hams, cheese, salads of all sorts or continential cereal and bread options. Also two pancake machines which guests seemed to loe.. Lovely chic boutique feel to hotel, just stroll away from main shopping area and overlooking the harbour. Gets you in holiday mood. But would stay there for business too no problem. The sauna - didn't use but would the next time. Staff super helpful and accommodating. Nothing to fault. Also great bakery attached to the restaurant/ breakfast bar area.

Kitchen was closed at 9pm. But even that's not a complaint about the hotel really. Just after a 12 hour amazing day would have been nice if there were some options after 9pm But fish and chip place next door was open to 9.30 and maybe at weekends hours are different. A

The location is excellent, and room 507 was quiet, with a great view of the port. A key card was needed everywhere, except public spaces. Also, we really liked the luggage locker area/hall behind reception.

Two things: (1) note the room does not have air-conditioning, but it does have a door that opens (without screens) for getting fresh, cool air into the room, and (2) check out the mattress before unpacking! The 2nd point is on us for not checking, but double was 2 twins connected together. My wife's half was more like a hammock than a well supported mattress. The sag was visible. It made her feel she needed to climb out anytime she wanted to shift positions. We'd already unpacked, so didn't want to change rooms.

This was our second time staying at the Exeter. The hotel is conveniently located to the heart of Reykjavik near many restaurants, bars and places that would be of interest to the tourists. Compared to the other hotels in the area, this is always one of my top picks. The price, friendly and helpful staff, along with the amenities offered at the hotel, along with its location are definitely a plus. During your stay, make sure you get a donut or pastry in the morning from the shop at the hotels entrance, and a cold beer and some food from the adjoining restaurant later in the day. Lastly, if you are in Reykjavik for a cruise, this is a great hotel pre or post cruise. It’s a short taxi ride (10 or so minutes) from the cruise terminal.

Central location, nice relaxed environment with bakery and restaurant on-site as well as some excellent restaurants on your doorstep. Beds were extremely comfortable with a large shower and plenty of space. Staff were there on hand to support and took the time to organise our travel. Really friendly staff members and the welcome Monday Night Jazz band was a hit too in the restaurant/bar area. The sauna is also a hit as well as the welcome chocolates we received in our room on arrival. Would recommend this hotel.. the online check in before arrival was great as well as the welcome even before we arrived via message via app! Great service and great breakfast too! Thank you to all staff members who work at the hotel!

Nothing I did not like- I always note any constructive feedback as it’s important. However on this occasion o have nothing to note.

The staff at the Exeter were incredibly warm and invaluable in supporting us with our stay and any queries we had. The room quality exceeded our expectations and the facilities were absolutely incredible- everything you could think of was catered for. Brilliant location and close to the hub of downtown city centre and the harbour. Great location for excursion pick ups and airport transfers as well. Amazing bakery and restaurant on site which was an unexpected bonus. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Perhaps more options at breakfast but otherwise nothing that needs improving!

Overall a great hotel and made our two day stay in Iceland very comfortable. The front desk attendant helped us find a free parking lot nearby, the room (superior tier) was comfortable and big by European standards. The free breakfast was really, really good, both my partner and I agreed that it was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts we'd ever had. During the evenings the restaurant has great food, great beer, and feels cozy. Also within walking distance to tons of a great restaurants, bars, and shops. Seabaron is across the street and a must-try. Would definitely stay here again, worth every penny.

Bathroom lighting was soft and soothing, but not great for doing makeup.

Breakfast was great, although slightly repetitive after day 4 of having the same choice. Room, although a little on the small size, was cleaned every day and was lovely. We overlooked the dock so had a great view. The room was super warm! Great facilities. Definitely would recommend and stay here again. Location was fantastic - super near to the centre, pick-ups for trips was across the road (Bus Stop no. 4).

A minor issue - the room was a little small and lacked storage for 2 standard size suitcases and the lighting was dark in the bathroom (over the mirror).
