The hotel is in a good location for walking to the many sites that Florence has to offer and despite its central location, was remarkably free from external noise (traffic and so on). The room was a good size with good facilities but be forewarned, the bathroom and toilet have part-frosted glass doors so make sure you share with someone you know! :-). The breakfast was very good with a wide selection but the eggs and bacon are not what you might expect in the traditional full-English version. We did not eat in the restaurant other than a lunchtime snack (which was very nice) while waiting for our bus so cannot comment on the full dinner experience. The hotel is themed but I have no idea what the theme is… it is very random! “Quirky” doesn’t really do it justice; it’s weird! We enjoyed our three night stay but it is quite expensive in my opinion.

The hotel is very poorly lit. This is deliberate no doubt, to support the ambience, but I prefer to see where I’m walking! The light switches in our room were unfathomable! The switches rotate so you can’t tell if they are in an on/off position and they all (at least four in number) seem to control all the lights. To get the bathroom light to turn on without all the others, took us about 20 minutes one evening and after it was turned off, we couldn’t get it back on. Perhaps I’m getting old! And the bedside lights are so faint as to be useless!

The overall decor and vibe of the hotel was really great. Rooms were nice sized and had good amenities. Location was mins away from piazza Santa maria novella and the Duomo

I thought the service was a little bit rigid and not very hospitable. We asked for late check out by an hour and they said flat out no for either of our 2 rooms. We also bought some sandwiches and were eating them in a totally empty courtyard adjacent to their restaurant also empty and a staff member told us we couldn’t eat our sandwiches in the courtyard.

Ground floor is gorgeous with a beautiful atrium. Breakfast buffet was delicious! Staff was very nice. Beds were SUPER comfortable with nice down pillows and blankets.

The decor with the Heaven/Hell theme is very off-putting and hideous. Our bathroom ended up being an accessible bathroom but the lighting was so dim and the shower literally sprayed water all over the toilet and toilet paper. There was no shelving to put your showerables. The bathroom was so dysfunctional.

The Room we got was the type we booked, kind of. Except for the fact that the Light at the entrance was not working, we Had a problem with the design of the Room.The Room was designed to accomodate disabeled: there were no carpets, all the amenities werelower than usual and completely designed for a person in a wheelchair. The design was perfect for them, but we did not book that type of Room and since the people who stayed in the Room and average/tall height this actually was a problem. We were offered at the start this Room but didn’t notice the small details in a quick tour, and a Room that Had a small window with bars that was only at the top so you felt Like you weere in a JAIL cell.

Such a unique and fun hotel! All the details were on point, from the hallways to every part of the room. We found a new little detail we loved every day. Quiet, very clean rooms and safe, hyper central area.The amenities were clean and so lovely, we loved the sauna which was empty every time we went! Staff was so attentive to us, ordering taxis that arrived immediately, recommending and booking restaurants, and taking special care to make our honeymoon special. The breakfast was very nice and every staff member was amazing.We loved the café area as well, best cappuccinos in Florence! It was such a perfect stay, we enjoyed every part of the hotel experience!

While we absolutely loved the look of the bar and the staff, the cocktails were unfortunately hit or miss… we tried both drinks from the menu and class drinks like espresso martinis and were a bit disappointed, so maybe the cocktails could be updated (also some of the cocktails were never available). But the ambiance completely made up for it and we still went every night!

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. It’s definitely for the Instagram generation, so it might not be to everyone’s taste, but was to mine. The room made very cleverly designed and made great use of space, so it never felt cramped. Massive shower with decent pressure was very welcomed, and the mini bar/fridge also fit a lot of stuff in which was a bonus. The hotel location was fab too: very close to lots of restaurants, literally 2 mins away from supermarkets and easy access to the Duomo and other tourist attractions. The restaurant is a really awesome place to start each day with breakfast as well.

We were upgraded to a room with a balcony which was lovely, but the balcony was a single chair and appeared to be for smokers. And there’s no view. This wasn’t a problem as we didn’t pay for it, but I definitely wouldn’t pay for a room with balcony. The restaurant was nice but kind of empty when we went for dinner, lacking a bit of atmosphere. These are really minor things though. On the whole it was an amazing stay.

I love the decor! It’s fun, dramatic, and literary. The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. I couldn’t have asked for a more convenient location. I live in Rome and it was a quick walk from SM Novella station to the hotel. I slept so well in the Dante’s Inferno room. The heavy drapes really kept the light out and the bed was very comfortable.

The only thing I didn’t like was the paid breakfast. It was overpriced for what was offered. There were 3-4 different types of cake and no bread. Not even cornetti. Actual cakes. I ordered (and extra paid for) 2 fried eggs and would have loved if there was some sort of bread or toast available.

We loved the design of the hotel and how it was themed after the Divine Comedy, I particularly enjoyed the recordings in the hallway reading it, I thought it was such a thoughtful detail! The overall interior design in the room and in the hotel was so cool, we had a heaven room and it was great - I'd love to see a hell room next time! The location and the parking were also great (the parking a little bit on the pricey side) but it was super central which was ideal. We were travelling with a dog and we found a dog bed in the room which was really nice!

There's not much we didn't like to be honest, the only thing that we noticed was the room service which it's not quite a room service as you order and then have to go to the restaurant to pick up your food, but it wasn't a big deal!

The theme of this hotel is outstanding - so clever. I was in the heaven wing and loved my room. Paid to have a balcony which was so worth it. The little touches and attention to details made this a memorable stay

The unusual smell in the restaurant when walking in - perhaps the floors need cleaning was a bit off putting in the morning - not sure if it is just age? They are porous concrete so perhaps need a good water blast as this let down the beautiful space or perhaps a diffuser. The sauna was not working which was a shame.
