This was a beautiful stay! The staff makes you feel very welcome and valued. It felt much like being a guest in someone's family home. The furnishings are cozy, everything is spotless and perfectly maintained. The breakfast was one of the best on this trip with sweet and savory cold options as well as hot fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, baked beans, and mushrooms. They have obviously taken care to accommodate a variety of tastes and dietary concerns. The dining room is beautifully furnished, warm and cozy with light music playing in the background. The bed was comfortable, the sleeping room of adequate size, and quiet for a good night's rest. The location is ideal and all felt very safe for a solo woman traveler.

The bathroom is very narrow. I am shorter than average and of average weight, but still I was cramped for space. It is not enough to prevent my staying again but might be an issue for someone larger. It looked as though each room is a bit different so perhaps mine was smaller than most and it might be possible to request a larger bathroom. There is a stairway of 20 steps to reach the hotel on the first floor and there is no elevator. This wasn't an issue for me but is something to consider if you have mobility issues. Everything else was perfect and I highly recommend Mario's for a Florence visit.

The location was good, 5 minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes to the Duomo through pleasant streets and the leather market. About 100m away (on the same street) are many traditional restaurants with good quality food and reasonably priced. Hotel itself was cosy, most of the staff were very friendly, breakfast plentiful and good quality. Our room had a separate private bathroom which was fine for us and very clean. Street could be a little noisy but windows were more than able to keep the sound out, just meant lacking in fresh air at "peak noise" times but aircon worked well.

No real issues at all. Hotel was as described and as expected.

Location close to train station and major sights; generous breakfast offerings, pleasant staff, comfortable bed, quieter than expected. Amenities include in-room safe, refrigerator, water boiler for instant coffee and tea, and a mulit-language guide with hotel policies and tourist information. Updated bathroom; amenities included shampoo/body wash, shower caps, soft towels.

The staff were very helpful, I imagine if there was anything lacking they would have done their best to resolve it.

The hotel is located well, all attractions can be reached on foot. near the station, but on a fairly quiet street. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, a supermarket, and the central market. Breakfast is good, varied, coffee machine, coffee quality is good, there are omelets, sausages, yoghurts, croissants and more. Unfortunately the soundproofing of the rooms is not ideal, you can hear absolutely everything the neighbors say.

To put it in simple words: if I know I have to come to Florence, I try to book at Mario's. I like the atmosphere of the "old times" but the fact that the service, the staff members and the facilities are excellent and updated.

I honestly can't think of anything, rather than the rising prizes for accommodation in Firenze if you don't pick the low season but that's a general growing problem which will cause that frequent "city break travellers" like me will be forced to travel less...

The historical nature of the building really adds a lot of character and the location is ideal for the train station and sightseeing. The staff were incredibly helpful and my room was thoroughly cleaned. I thought the breakfast was suitably varied as it offered continental style and some cooked food for people who prefer a hot breakfast.

The wifi signal may not reach your room, which I think is common in historical buildings to be honest. It wasn't an issue for me personally as I just went to the reception area to get a better connection when needed.

Location of the hotel is very good, close to the everything in the center city. Breakfast was decent, enough to start a day, excellent coffee and service! The stuff is very friendly and are there to support with everything you need. The lady which was helping us with the breakfast was very very nice. 😊

It was a bit cold in the room. There was an additional blanket which we used it and with the air conditioning , we managed somehow to warm the room a bit.

The property and room are cozy. The room is clean and it had two beds plus everything necessary for my stay. Also the breakfast was amazing. Best breakfast I have had in my stay in hotels so far. Also the location is perfect. It is close to the train station and all the important spots in the city. The staff can talk to you in Italian, English and Spanish (as far as I know!)

The Hotel perfectly assembles the italian rustic-style that vibes really good with you stay in florence - the facility is soothingly cool in contrast to the city, so that‘s very nice - the breakfast offers some variety - he staff is friendly and capable - the Hotel is located very central and good to reach if you e.g. travel by train (near the central train station) - We loved the variety of restaurants just outside the door

the wifi was too weak to surf in our room, i guess you need to get lucky. It‘s really not a big deal though in a dream location like Firenze!

Perfect location for walking proximity to city attractions and railway. Comfortable and clean bedroom and spotless private bathroom. Delicious and excellent variety for breakfast. Friendly, polite, helpful and good humoured staff.

Only one electrical outlet for either the fridge or the kettle. (Maybe have kettle and fridge positioned near multi-outlet near window on right wall?).
