The hotel was near the city center but felt like a world away with a lush courtyard full of foliage. The room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was great and able to choose whatever we wanted from the menu and also received coffee, juice, fruit and bread. Some days the breakfast was faster than the others so be aware it could take a while. If you are leaving early you can get a packaged breakfast for the road which was great when we were headed on an early bus. There are 2 adorable cats that live there which made my animal lover heart happy.
The eco friendly shampoo didn't work well for my hair. I would bring your own just in case. Some of the staff doesn't speak great English - if you don't have a basic understanding of Spanish I would have a translate app available to assist you.

Great staff and a beautiful inner garden with a pool. They serve good breakfast and nice cocktails at the bar. There were two friendly and lovely cats playing around the pool. And the location is perfect. Just in between the city centre and the Calzada de los Frailes.
Not really a complain about the hotel, but there were only two sun beds at the pool, which I think is enough because otherwise the tiny court will be crowded and the place would lose the chill atmosphere. The problem is that some guests think that they can place their towels there from early hour and keep for themselves the whole day... This place is not prepare for that kind of mentality, I guess. But again this was not the hotel's fault but the lack of education of some people.

A spacious room, which was simply furnished with a tranquil small terrace. We had a deluxe King room on the ground floor, so was light and airy. Breakfast provided great choices, beautifully cooked and the Restaurant staff were polite and friendly. A lovely setting too, overlooking the gardens and plunge pool. The staff generally were helpful but the language sometimes caused a barrier, with some confusion. Cielo on Reception, was patient, kind and went out of her way to help and understand us, which we really appreciated. The hotel is in a good location, close to all amenities and the ADO coach station.
The downside of having the rooms around the communal garden is the level of noise. The sink did not have a plug, making shaving difficult, The plug sockets are difficult to get to, under a side cupboard. The restaurant is popular with locals, which means it does get very busy especially on a Sunday.

The rooms are big, with huge, comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms leading out to a small, private courtyard. The restaurant area, surrounded by plants, is based around the pool which is really clean and ideal for a quick dip to cool down. The service in both the restaurant and reception was really friendly and efficient. The reception staff are really helpful organising taxis, trips and giving out useful information. We felt so relaxed there returning from a day trips out and about. It's in a great location too.
Nothing. The hotel is perfect for a short stay in Valladolid to explore the city, visit the ruins at Chichen Itza and the cenotes.

the hotel staff was very helpful. the food at the restaurant was excellent.very sophisticated and tasty. besides breakfast, we also ate dinner there one eve and it was the best burrito i had in mexico! better food than a recommended restaurant we went to in town. their two cats were adorable.
despite a wonderful on-premise restaurant, the rooms were very basic and loud. you could hear everyone as they passed by outside on the way to their rooms - as well as the noise coming from the street. the shower was a joke - had no water pressure whatsoever and barely warm water.

The service at Colonté is always good and that is why I come back. Front desk staff is welcoming, restaurant staff always friendly (for the most part). Good coffee and excellent breakfast. Location is very handy to just about anything. Parking is no longer a challenge with the new space across the street.
The king size bed is wide and covers the light switch and plug on one side of the bed making it hard to turn off the light if in bed already. Moving the headboard is necessary. When assigning the room, plugging in the coffee maker would be nice so you don't have to be crawling under the desk at 6 AM half asleep. For older folks this is not good. In the shower, there were spider webs on the wall in the upper corner. Just a check!

The included Breakfast was incredible with almost too many options to choose from! Really good central location - only a 5 minute walk from the bus station & main square. There was a lovely vibe in the inner courtyard with the garden full of greenery & the plunge pool. An oasis of calm in the midst of the busy city. We especially loved the outdoor courtyard that the shower backed onto. Room is well equipped with a fridge stocked with water and a nespresso machine as well as lovely toiletries. As it was our honeymoon they had also arranged a cake for us which was a lovely touch. If you stay here we would recommend Casa Oaxaca on the same street for dinner
As other reviews have stated the rooms could benefit from some improved sound proofing as they back onto the main courtyard which is where the restaurant is located so there is some noise from diners during breakfast and dinner. Wasn’t a problem for me but my husband said it woke him up a few times. Also the tap in our bathroom was a bit loose and there was no plug in the sink if you needed to shave.

The breakfast in the courtyard was very nice, the service friendly and quite efficient. The location in close proximity to the prettiest street of Valladolid and close to shops, restaurants etc is excellent, parking well organized.
The upstairs rooms have no windows, rather some light slits high up or tucked in the side of the room. Outside noise travels into the room quite undisturbed. Both those points are downsides. The downstairs rooms I believe have little patios and are likely lighter. In the courtyard a kitchen cooling (or pool cleaning?) device is giving off a pretty audible constant buzz which was annoying.

There's a lot of great things about this hotel: the location was superb, the room was great and decent space, the breakfast was from delicious a la carte selection, staff were super polite and friendly, free car parking offered and just the overall vibe is fantastic. They created this small oasis of a place and though the pool is tiny, you still feel relaxed in its overall ambiance. Calzada de los Frailles (a beautiful colorful street full of shops and restaurants) is just 2 minutes walk away from the hotel and must not be missed while in Valladolid. Some people might not like the idea of double door bathroom, one of which is a glass door leading to outside patio, though still private to your room, but for us we absolutely adored it. Oh and they do have two lovely cats!
Only small remark to maybe improve the main entrance stairs as it lands directly to the main road with rather busy traffic. Not a big deal but you constantly have to watchout as the steps are quite small.

We were given a free upgrade to the ground floor rooms with the patios- if you can book those, I would suggest it. They were very beautiful. The hotel supplies you with a hammock for your room and hanging by the patio was very serene. Breakfast also consists of the whole menu of options, and they do have their own parking lot so you don’t have to park on the busy street (they can point out where it is when you get there). Staff was also very nice and helped us rush out of breakfast one day to get timo Chichén Itzá early.
The beds are rock hard and not cozy at all. I found it very hard to sleep soundly on them.
