December 2024

The room was cosy and had a few extras we haven't had at prior backpackers including Netflix access and tea coffee etc. showers were lovely and hot, the bed was nice and comfortable and the room itself had additional heating if we were chilly via a heater on the wall.

The location meant we had to pay for parking outside which can be pricey, not the backpackers issue but there were buildings all around having renovations and we awoke to loud machinery very early in the morning. Was hoping they wouldn't work Saturdays, but again that's an us issue and not the backpackers fault. The only issue I could see being the beds being on wheels, they rolled around as we could not find any brakes, causing us to slip away from the wall during sleep and lost our pillows in the process 😄

the lovely French girl at the desk stands out more than anything! second time staying here and she's just such a treat. the first stay was in a double room shared with my sister, really great value for money:) the kitchen area is really nice (when the hobs are working) and a lot of space to move around in

a lot of the hobs didn't work. it seems like all of the showers have a draining problem... the double room I told reception the next day but we had to keep turning off the water and allow some water to drain. used the communal shower and it was quite gross and same deal with thr drainage. 3 for 3, the shower in my room had the same no drainage problem and there's like a 2.5inches if space for water to go down... aka the floor is gon a get wet

amazing clean facilities! the only hostel i've stayed in that has an elevator !!! very well situated within walking distance to many local attractions . the WiFi worked well. really incredible māori food nearby from a cafe called karaka . kitchen is large and spacious, outdoor courtyard is cute! highly recommend a stay here small lockers in the room that can only fit your valuables

there was a receptionist who was quite rude, she wasn't pleasant or friendly and made me feel uncomfortable

Fantastic location! The staff are super accommodating and the 24hr check in option is fantastic if you have a late flight in. Close to everything in Wellington’s CBD, including Te Papa, Wellington Museum, the waterfront, Wellington Botanic Gardens, etc.

Amenities in the rooms were bare basics and bathrooms weren’t great (but were clean), which is to be expected in a backpackers. There can be some noise coming in from the hallway and the courtyard but it was largely quiet by midnight, no doubt helped by it being a dry hostel.

It was very central, and had all the amenities expected. The single room was clean, and the bathroom, too. Plus for lovely shampoo- and body wash. The location is excellent, close to the waterfront, Cuba street and Te Papa museum. The station is only a 20 min walk away with a suitcase.

Lipstick stains on the towel, although it must have been washed. The kitchen was messy, and the fridges were overflowing (probably due to the size of the hostel).

Superb location, could go to Te papa museum, arts centre, Cuba street, cable car….almost all CBD on foot. Although one end of Wakefield Street has been blocked for construction, pedestrians can access freely. Bonus: nearby bakeries half price offer after 4pm!

We came on a rough day. Hail to the Windy City. The window & curtains fluttered non-stop. Even the buildings seemed to whistle. Thankfully Wellington has a higher building code against earthquake and wind!

My daughter and I had a problem with another guest in our room late at night, and the staff were amazing, swiftly moved us into another room nearby. I liked that it is non- alcohol and non-smoking facility. I loved the friendly and welcoming staff. The location is very good in central Wellington and easy to find.

The kitchen smoked a lot and there is no outlet for smells. The lounge is right next to the dining g area and kitchen and the cooking smells pervade it.

Location close to everything, incl 3 restaurants, 2 - 20 metres away. The Blend bar is attached to the hostel, decent priced bar food & drink. Good private rooms with comfy bed & Clean linen & freeview TV. Nice staff. Who knocked on the door to evacuate us after the big 5.8 earthquake, this tells me they are Safety conscious & follow Govt guidelines.

Shower squirted water all over the floor. The big 5.8 earthquake wasn't fun but that's nature.

I had a small private room and the bed had four clean pillows and clean bedding, comfortable bed. There were loads of outlets and great hot water in the shower. Wasn't the cleanest place I've stayed at but I really enjoyed my stay and would come back in a heartbeat. The single room was a perfect compromise of a hotel and hostel and I met quite a few awesome people by staying there. I loved the complimentary kettle and coffee. Lovely and helpful staff and overall just a lovely little hub (Blend, the next-door bar is also cheap, fun and welcoming).

Just a bit cleaner (the floors were sticky) wifi goes in and out but mostly fine!
