The location can't be beat! You're so close to many interesting sites, shopping, grocery stores, and transportation. The staff here are also incredibly helpful and friendly. They are very responsive to requests. The rooms are a bit older compared to other offerings in the city, but they offer a lot of great space and are comfortable. There's also not a lot of noise from the neighborhood at night which is a big plus for light sleepers.

The cleaning seemed a bit inconsistent. Sometimes it was like the scrubbed the room top to bottom, other times they missed areas for cleaning, like under the table. It wasn't enough to ruin anything but a bit more attention would have been nice.

Great location, and really fun and friendly receptionists. Rooms were great, I tried a studio and a 1 bedroom suite. Preferred the suite , but studio was great too. Beautiful high ceilings, spacious, and a glorious bathroom in all rooms we visited.

Dated. It's well maintained, but feels like it's been a number decades since it's been redecorated. It is an art deco building, and the art deco features (lift, lobby, carpet designs in the halls, were perfect) ~ but the rooms themselves were totally adequate, but felt like they were last done (and done well) in about 1993 or 1994. Could be wrong, but that's my impression.

Quest is in central Wellington and very handy for everything. The harbour, the cable car, bus routes, museums and restaurants and cafes are all a short walk away. There's parking right outside the hotel for 5 minutes only, just for unloading, but there are multi-storey car parks round the corner. The hotel is a $20 taxi from the harbour. Our suite was really nice and had everything in it that we needed and we cooked a couple of meals. The bedroom was very comfortable. Being able to do some laundry in the washing machine and tumble drier was very helpful. The absolute highlight was the shower which had colossal water pressure.

Love staying here when in Wellington. Everything from location to lovely bed furniture washer and dryer. Good kitchen, bathroom is huge. Big fridge holds lots for longer stays. Close to Supermarket and buses. walks to Te Papa or shops etc. We love this place.

Starting to date carpet is grubby stains and just dirty looking. Apart from the loading of your luggage to hotel no park or the buses toot you if your in there lane. Motorbikes parked there too so can't unload safely...that is annoying if you have to bring your bags in the rain along the road from Wilson parking lot where you pay for parking per day. If you have a taxis they can't stop really outside either. If elderly need to be dropped quickly watch the bus lane.

Female Staff member at front desk exceptional on Sunday morning 30/9. I was on 8th floor. Room E so higher the floor, way less traffic noise, bonus. Excellent central location, very close only a few minutes walk to see WOW show, very good value for money. Very spacious studio room with excellent shower pressure and very comfortable bed and pillows.. I had 2 nights here.

Table and bedside furniture could do with up dating, bit worn. Hotel is very central and is on a busy one- way street so can get quite noisy if your room is on that side of building, like mine on 8th floor, however, soundproof windows and it was fine for me.

Great location...easy to walk anywhere..cafes close by...waterfront 5mins walking...the Quest is sited in an old building....beautiful features of a bygone era..the staff were welcoming and always present...our room was very clean and tidy....roomy as well...a bit tired though. Would return there as great location, and easy to get to. Bus travel to Airport seamless.

There wasn't anything to dislike at the Quest. The taxi ride from airport to the Quest was an eye opener. Very expensive we rhought. The driver even offered to pick us up Sunday and take us back to the airport . We caught the Airport Express Sunday...cost $0...20 min ride.

Perfect location. Plenty of space. Two bathrooms was a bonus! Comfortable beds and couches (although the dining chairs were a bit unstable but still usable), washing machine and dryer were great to use (washing machine lid was broken and the filter for the dryer kept falling off but did not affect being able to use these). The place felt like home, and the amount of windows made us feel very relaxed as opposed to some hotels where you only get a tiny window or none at all! Overall, awesome stay. We will definitely be staying here again.

That we only booked two nights! Nothing ‘bad’ to mention at all

Excellent location-right next to the Old Bank Arcade where you can find a great cafe and Starbucks. Other excellent restaurants are close by. It is also close to the harbourside and shops. I liked the hotel's Art Deco style. The bathroom was spacious and included a washing machine and dryer. The kitchen had a dishwasher. There were two comfortable chairs and a small table and chairs. The bed was comfortable, too. Everything was clean. The staff were really friendly too.

The range of programs on the TV but that's a minor. Everything else was great.

Brilliant location, close to shopping, 5 minute walk to the harbour, Te Papa museum, cable car, and airport shuttle stops 2 mins walk from the hotel. A great base to explore Wellington. Next door is the beautiful Old Bank Building with its wonderful architecture, quaint stores, two excellent cafes. Easy after hours check in, no issues with accessing our room. We had quite a large room on a higher floor which was very quiet. We loved the kitchenette, large bathroom and washing machine and dryer in our room. It felt like our own apartment. Really helpful staff and we love the art deco vintage of the building. We have stayed in all types of hotels with various star ratings. Next time we visit Wellington we would stay here again because it provided us exactly what we needed and is very affordable at the same time.

Great location. Clean and comfortable room.

I know it appears somewhere on the booking site that parking is not included, but it's not prominent enough. It should be clear at the check out point that the room is $126 or room plus parking is $165. There were other hotels on offer the day I booked that included parking and would have come out comparable, if not cheaper. So the $126 wasn't actually a great deal. Also, they state that someone is at reception from 8am but no one turned up until 9. There were no instructions where to turn in your keys if no one was at the desk when you want to check out.
