Location is fantastic! We sadly were put in a basement room which didn’t have great ventilation & no view. Pics of rooms showed ancient rock walls & beautiful spacious rooms with lovely wood floors. We got old! Tiny! Cramped! The staff were very friendly.

The old basement room! Requested an upper floor, but was told all booked. We stayed 7 days, while most travelers only stayed 1-3 days, so I would think we could have easily been swapped for an upper floor.

Beautiful, room with seating area at the front of the hotel. Very clean. Most amenities you would wish for. Located near all the best known tourist attractions. Lots of restaurants/bars nearby

Located down a small side road. More active/noisy early evening than you would expect. Other nearby businesses were 4 upscale restaurants, craft bar and 2 strip clubs ( 1 not open when we were there). Very loud music from nearby nightclub, starts about 10:30 to 3 or 4. Clearly audible in room, but not loud enough to disturb our sleep.

We spent a comfortable night at Oporto House before embarking on our Camino de Santiago journey. Our room was clean and tidy, with adequate facilities to meet our needs. Although the location is in a noisy and lively part of the city, it's perfectly situated for exploring the historic old town and accessing the start of the trail. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome and prepared for our journey. We'd definitely recommend Oporto House to fellow pilgrims.

Excelent location in renovated old house in down town just a stroll to all main sightseeing spots. Public Parking 24/8 just 2 minutes walk. Extraordinary views of Porto's historical skyline, lovely and quite ( you only heard the seagulls at dawn and sunrise ) room with air conditioning and small nice terrace , breakfast room with outdoor terrace on the basement. You get a code for main entrance and find the key on your room ready on your arrival. There is someone in the morning for breakfast, otherwise you have a number to call if you need anything.

I just love this guesthouse and it is my destination every time I come to Porto be it on business or on holidays. If there is just one "but" is the narrow and steep staircase and no lift. Some people complaint there is not TV in the room but I just find it delightful and perfect to switch off after a long day of work or sightseeing

Loved the location. Checking in process was simple and the host provided excellent instructions. The bed was so so comfortable! Myself and my husband had the best nights sleep. It was very quiet too especially considering the road out the front of the property was fairly busy. We both had a lovely few days.

If I am being picky there were a few areas in our room that looked a little tired. The air con also may not have worked as when I tried to change the temp an error message flashed up stating the filter needed to be changed. The one big or should I say little problem was the metal doorstop that was on the floor outside the bathroom. It was difficult to spot and both myself and my husband stubbed our toes on it which was rather painful to say the least. The photos also were a little misleading as I did not realise that the kitchen and terrace were shared. As already mentioned these are all minor comments as we had a great stay.

A well located and nice place to stay. Near to Sao Bento station and the city centre. The room was a good size and comfortable. Check in was easy with a door code provided out of hours.

The property is in an area of the city where there is nightlife and there is consequently noise at night- however our room was on the groundfloor and there is fairly good soundproofing. While there was some noise it did not affect my sleep, and I am usually a light sleeper.

The location was excellent in the old city so it was withing easy walking distance to walk around for the day. The room was comfortable with a large king size bed, clean bath room, breakfast was very nice and the staff great.

The room didn't have much circulation of air due to it being lower down in the building but it met my requirments for the one night stay and I would recommend it for a stay in Porto. No issues at all.

Lovely room with original stone walls. Very helpful and attentive staff. Spotless throughout. The “rundown” look on the outside was in stark contrast to the interior.

Our room was directly opposite a nightclub. The double windows tried their best, but the noise from the club still got through. The bathroom was a reasonable size, but the shower head had to be hand held as it wouldn’t stay in its holder.

Looove this hotel! It's super clean and all the staff was super friendly and very helpful telling us what places to go and giving us directions. Breakfast was amazing and delicious and was served in a very beautiful room. Our room had big windows overlooking the street. It's super well ubicated and you can walk to all main attractions. Minutes from the river front area. Love it. Totally recommend it!!!

Great place to stay, superb location close to all attractions and in the hip club/bar district however safe enough not to be noisy for sleep at night. Walking distance to Sao Bento, Clerigos tower, Rua das Flores, as well as superb restaurants like En Caixa Dos or pastel de nata factory Manteigaria. Brigado to both Marta and Joana who don't know much English but are super friendly and so we had no problems in communicating at all with a mix of body language, expressions, french and spanish :-). There are some younger workers who speak English and very helpful for helping you keep your luggage before your departure. We'll definitely stay here on our next stay in Porto! Our recommendation is not to stay on the villa nova de gaia side as most attractions are on the other side of the river.
