Beautiful hotel with only 12 rooms in the main building which is amazing. High ceilings with enormous windows and beautiful decor. The rooms were a good size with everything you might need including coffee machine, mini bar and very comfortable bed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They arranged a walking tour of Porto with a guide called Francisco.We went to places we had never seen and found it just that bit more interesting than usual tours. Breakfast was a la carte with lots of choice including cold meats and cheese, cereals, fresh fruit , cooked eggs and pastries.The breakfast staff were excellent and full of tips and advice on the menu. We also ate in the restaurant and had a great meal. The location is ideal, easy to walk to most places and close to the subway station and buses.

The hotel is really central so there is some road noise but it didn't really disturb us and there are rooms at the back if you prefer. It would help to have a brighter light near the mirror in the bathroom to do your makeup.

Room was beyond my expectations. Staff were super. The "apartments" are the cheaper options and are in a parallel pedestrian street to main hotel but you can still use hotel. Highly recommend. Shower fab. Plenty of space. Kitchenete, sofa, table and chairs and high half timber room in my room. Oh. and they left a complementary bottle of cava in the fridge! Plus a plate of sliced fruits. Food in hotel was fab. Made the mistake of having breakfast out in street and wish I had opted for hotel.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Torel 1884 Suites and Apartments, and it was an experience I'll cherish. I do not think you can get a better location than this. I was pleasantly surprised and deeply grateful to be offered a complimentary upgrade to a room in the main property, which added an extra layer of luxury to my stay. What truly set this property apart was the staff. Their professionalism and warmth made my experience memorable. A special shout out to Daniel, Tiago, and Miguel at the restaurant. Their dedication to ensuring guests feel welcomed and cared for was evident in every interaction, making my stay exceptionally comfortable. The studio apartment, with its well-designed space, provided a perfect balance of comfort and functionality. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing for the convenience of preparing meals, which was a nice touch for longer stays​. Lastly, the aesthetic appeal of the hotel, both inside and out, added to the overall charm and elegance of my stay. It's clear that Torel 1884 values both aesthetics and guest comfort, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking a blend of style and substance. Torel 1884 is literally the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The interiors were GORGEOUS, room was spacious and so comfortable. The staff was INCREDIBLE, taking care of our every need, giving restaurant recs and then calling to make us reservations, even folding clothes we had left on the floor in the room. The free breakfast was not your typical lame hotel buffet, but rather had so many delicious options and a different fresh-made fruit juice each day. The location was also perfect--super walkable to everything we wanted to visit. I would seriously return to Porto just to stay at Torel 1884!!!

Great service, the staff goes above and beyond to meet your needs. They are kind and hardworking. Apartment had wine and a kitchen and coffee capsules for everyday. Everything in the apartment is premium and the design aesthetics are well balanced (Nordic feeling). There’s a restaurant and a nice lounge at the top floor. 5 star experience without the 5 star price. Very high recommend.

The knobs in the shower are a bit complicated could use labels to know which way to turn. The light switches are also a bit confusing, could use some labels. The chairs could also use some foam pads on the feet so that they don’t squeak as much when you pull the chair out. But really these are so minor and overall not a big deal at all!!

The Torel 1884 is 10/10. We stayed in one of the apartments and it was amazing! The apartments are just around the corner from the main hotel on the cutest street with lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants. I actually thought the location of the apartments was even better than the hotel since it is on a less busy street. The area is safe and vibrant, right in the heart of Porto, and close to lots of major attractions and restaurants. The rooms are also clean, spacious, comfortable, and very nice. The staff is also fantastic! If you stay in the apartments, they help you with your bags when you check-in and check-out. They were available 24/7 via phone and whatsapp and very responsive. They provided lots of helpful recommendations for places to eat and even helped us book a great fado show. Also, I highly recommend getting breakfast in the main hotel one morning. The chef and all the staff go above and beyond, making daily juices and cakes and ensuring you have everything you need to start the day off right. I can't wait to go back!

The ambiance and styling of the Torel hotel is absolutely stunning! Rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, just like the main areas. Love is what you feel all around and it starts with all the incredibly kind people who do their utmost best to give you the warmest welcome possible. They succeeded! Everything was exceptional! Next time though we do ask for a room on the inside of the hotel. Our room 12 on the top floor was facing the street side and that was quite noisy.

This was a very pleasant surprise for us. These folks have two properties - the hotel suites and the apartments. The hotel is really beautiful both outside and in and initially we were a bit disappointed to be instead put in their separate apartment and suites building (200 metres away from the hotel - the kindly had someone walk us over and make sure all was in order plus they automatically transferred our bags over to the suites). Once in the apartment suites, we found the rooms to be really a nice size and very well appointed (we suspect the hotel rooms are smaller). Nice sliding doors to separate the bed from the main space. The kitchen offered the ability to use a stove and a microwave with a little fridge plus plates, utensils, glasses etc.. So, you could easily have breakfast and snacks in the room to cut down expenses for food. A lovely touch was that they offered us a complimentary glass of white sparkling wine as we waited for our confirmation. Also, there was a nice bottle of white wine in the fridge plus a fruit plate. The room was very comfortable with a really nice chair (leather - I actually recognized it as a classic leather chair that is well known as a design piece). This hotel was one of the only ones that had a iron as a standard in the room which was convenient (other hotels required us to ask for one). The bed was one of the most comfortable of our stay (we stayed in 4 properties in all in Portugal) and a nice size. The location was perfect and in truth we wish we had time to stay longer! In the main property (hotel facility) there is a decent restaurant and the staff are very attentive. We also liked how you could actually open the window up wide to let in some fresh air. They are all about making the collective experience seem less. We would recommend selecting this property and it was very reasonably priced (compared to the other properties we stayed at). In short, we plan on returning and staying again!

Really there was not much that we didn't like to be honest. This is rare to say this. One small point I suppose was that all other properties we visited (4 in total) had Bidets and this one didn't. However this is in no way a show stopper for us.

What an incredible stay! It’s a perfect location and the hotel amenities are exactly why it’s nice to book with a great hotel. The food is delicious. The lodging beautiful and comfortable. Such courteous, helpful staff. We celebrated my partner’s birthday on this trip and they were so, so kind to bring a cake in the morning, with a lit candle, and to top it off two espressos. They went above and beyond for a very simple request of “can I get something brought to the room for his birthday in the morning?” Would highly recommend staying here. Thanks for making this such a wonderful memory for us!

The stay was exceptional. We stayed in the apartments (we didn't know our actual booking was for the apartments) so we were surprised to hear that at check in. Luckily, the apartments are very well kept and like staying at a hotel on Rua das Flores, a really popular arts street in Porto. Central to everything! The staff even provided a few surprises during the trip like a lovely fruit plate upon arrival, champagne for valentines day, and welcome drinks at the bar in the main hotel. The beds were honestly also the cherry on top! We slept so comfortably and no other hotel beds that we stayed in Portugal compared to these beds! Would stay here again.
