I loved the location of the hotel as it was close to many attractions. Our room was wonderful as it had a beautiful view. The room was of medium size but felt much larger because of the view and wonderful storage. The bathroom was lovely and the shower wonderful. The front desk was very helpful and we enjoyed massages at the spa. The owners of the hotel did a wonderful job restoring and incorporating the old palace with the new addition. I am still unsure about the long dark hallway leading to the elevators in the new part of the hotel but it was interesting. I thought the lobby and restaurant were lovely and we enjoyed drinks and snacks there. The hotel was very clean.

I did get a little tired of the breakfast. It was a large spread but so much bread and pastries. A larger assortment of cheeses and fruits would have been nice. There are a number of cafes close to the hotel where you could have a much less expensive breakfast. The breakfast room was pleasant and the service was good.

Beautiful old Chateau restored into a beautiful modern boutique hotel. Especially the main building and 11 room original Chateau. The new building of 44 rooms is not as nice, could use a design refresh but is still lovely. The fares breakfast buffet was complete and delicious. They prepare eggs to your taste including omelettes and Benedict and they even prepared a breakfast box for our early morning flight. The room had all the essentials like Nespresso machines with carnations creamers and wash cloths and nice robes! The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower was powerful and very nice. The views of the church from the room was also lovely.

The only reason they didn’t receive a 10 is our first room’s AC didn’t work and we lost just over an hour between maintenance and changing rooms. They were very professional and made the situation right but should have comped our drinks at the bar for the inconvenience and didn’t. Every problem is an opportunity.

For a five star hotel expectations were high. These were more than matched. The breakfasts were superb with anything you could possibly want. The staff serving were friendly, helpful and cheerful - nothing was too much trouble. The reception staff were also very helpful, for example recommendations of where to have lunch or that special dinner. Our standard room was quiet, air conditioned and very comfortable. My partner and I agreed that the shower was probably the best we had experienced in a hotel.

Fantastic facilities and very cozy. Our room overlooked a beautiful courtyard and had a view of the Se Cathedral which rang beautiful bells. The staff were courteous and helpful and gave us a good understanding of the surroundings as well as nice places to visit and to eat. Our room was very clean and we loved the large bathroom and the stand in closed shower. Most exceptional of all was the catering staff at the in house breakfast buffett who truly shined. They remembered our names and even what we enjoyed eating and drinking from the previous days and really made my fiancee feel like a princess. We were very happy to start our day each day with a beautiful breakfast and pleasant service.

The hotel was in the perfect location in the center of all the sites and activities. Our room was clean and very quiet since the room faced a beautiful courtyard. Though the front desk agents could have been friendlier and nicer, we had a great time in Porto Bay Flores!

Though the front desk agents at check in/out were courteous, they were not friendly or nice. I guess some kindness and maybe even a smile would have been appreciated.

Amazing location, walking distance to all attractions and places you would need. Very good food and service. The overall ambiance of the hotel is very different than all the other 5 star hotels in Porto. Definitely highly recommended for anyone visiting Porto.

There were too many families with small kids at the time we stayed, and one particular family really messed up dining and breakfast experiences in the hotel with their 2 kids who continuously shouted and cried. The hotel management absolutely did not nothing about it, in fact totally ignored as there were many guests who felt disturbed after a certain point. A hotel at this caliber should either have a kids policy or find some means to accommodate everyone with equal comfort and satisfaction at the end of their stay.

Location is excellent. Very close to all the main tourist sites and sort of on the "middle level" of what is a pretty hilly city. Only a few minutes walk to the higher levels or down to the river level. Although the building looks old it has been completely rebuilt inside and rooms are modern and quiet. We booked a Palace room and were very impressed with its size and how modern it was. Everything in the hotel feels good quality. Staff are excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was very good and the bar on the ground floor a nice place for a drink after sight seeing and is popular with guests. I think this is the ideal hotel to use for a Porto break.

I think only official taxi's can get you right to the front door. Our private transfer from the airport had to park 100m away so a good uphill walk with suitcases. This was OK for us but the steep walks wont be easy for everyone. That is true of a lot of Porto.

Porto Bay Flores was a very lovely hotel! We stayed in the palace area and really enjoyed the room, which I understand was larger than the other rooms. The breakfast each day was phenomenal. The staff (especially the servers) were super friendly and warm. We enjoyed a late afternoon drink in the lobby/bar area, which was very comfortable. The location was great on a busy pedestrian street with easy access to the waterfront area. Would definitely stay here again!

We were given a free upgrade from a Palace Room to a Junior Suite. The complimentary drink in the bar was appreciated. The hotel design and interior was stunning. The breakfast was excellent. All the staff were friendly and informative. The Ribera Santo red wine was delicious!

The hot water wasn't very hot on the Saturday and Sunday mornings of our stay. It was much better on the Monday morning, perhaps when the hotel didn't have so many guests. It would be great to have a bar snacks menu - the complimentary popcorn/nuts are fine, but it would be great if there were light snacks and meals that could be ordered in the bar area.

This is an exceptionally beautiful hotel, in a fabulous location in the very heart of Porto. Reconstructed a few years ago using the same materials they would have used when it was first built, it feels totally authentic, like walking through a piece of history. All of the hotel staff, from the ones that greet you at the front desk, to the breakfast staff and the chamber maids were so friendly and helpful and made our stay a complete joy. Immaculately clean, with the most comfortable and luxurious beds, wonderful shower bathroom and a very well planned room layout, there is nothing more we could have wanted. Plus the view of the Cathedral and surrounding area from our bedroom window was simply incredible. But ultimately a hotel is only as good as its people, and its people are truly fantastic.

There is nothing that we didn’t like.
