I really love this hotel i come here everytime I stay in york and they never disappoint! Check in was quick, the staff were really helpful as always and made me feel welcome.the bed was comfy and the room was clean it was such a nice room. The hotel is close to the train station and is so close to the city centre. I'd deffo recommend to anyone and I will be back
The only minor thing about my room was the wardrobe door could do with a little tlc and the drain in the shower could be a little better but again its something a little tlc couldn't fix overall the pros outweigh the cons.

The location is excellent for access to the city only being a short walk to the city walls and main streets of the city. The street where the hotel is located has excellent pubs and restaurants in easy walking distance providing excellent food and drink. The hotel was clean, warm, and comfortable with friendly helpful staff who could not do enough to enhance our stay. The breakfast was great quality and really, set you up for the day. I would definitely, recommend Georgian House to anyone who wishes to stay in York.
Would benefit from a lift as there are a few stairs to get up to the bedrooms but not sure if this is possible. I think people who have mobility issues would struggle with the stairs. I never saw the bar area open but there are lots of bars and restaurants within easy walking access so not a problem.

Excellent location, so close to everything and nice being near the museum park to get away from the crowds. Just a couple of minutes to start a walk round the wall. Being in one of the mews rooms at the back was lovely and quiet and we slept well. The room was generally clean and a coffee tray provided. The heating was adjustable, so it was good to be able to adjust it when it got cold. All the staff we met were friendly and I'm sure they would have been approachable if we had any problems.
The shower screen and fittings need a deep clean and wouldn't take much time to make a big difference. I think the rooms with only skylights would be very hot in the summer. Decor is a little dated but it doesn't make your stay any less comfortable.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. It's a typical old style English hotel with it's own charm. The hotel offers several room types. Our room was in the courtyard in an annex. The quiet room and bathroom look modern, just renovated and unexpectedly large. The bed was comfortable. A kettle with coffee and tea bags was available. Two tables and two chairs complete the room. The good breakfast is served in the old fashioned way, you order what you want from a menu. Breakfast was included in our booking, but you have to tell the reception the night before if you want breakfast. The location of the hotel is very central to the cathedral and the old town behind the city walls is a 5-minute walk away. There are several pubs, cafes, restaurants and one supermarket near the hotel. The train and bus station are a 12-15-minute walk away. The famous railway museum is a 15-18-minute walk away. The hotel offers a luggage storage service
Myself I have nothing to complain about. Just note that the hotel has a lot of stairs and no elevator. If you have problems with your legs or walking, you should ask for a room in the courtyard

This cozy little room was exactly what we wanted! Location was perfect, just down the street from one of the medieval city gates and across from the old Abbey walls. It took us about 15-20 minutes to walk from the train station. Everything picturesque was within easy walking distance, as well as some great restaurants and pubs. There is a small Sainsbury's market at the corner for any other needs. The staff was lovely (gave helpful dining recommendations) and we had a wonderful English breakfast in their front room, which is also a bar in the evening. We'd gladly stay here again!
Just keep in mind this is a historical building so there are no elevators in the main building (don't know about the mews) -- if you have trouble with stairs, better address this ahead of time.

We spent three nights at the Georgian House & Mews and found the location to be excellent with easy access to all major attractions and with plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. On top of the usual tea and coffee we were greeted with a welcome bottle of Prosecco in our room. A nice surprise after our long journey to get to York. Considering its central location in York we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. Breakfast was great with a large offering each day. Staff were friendly and ready to assist with anything. Highly recommend.
For us we found the bed somewhat on the soft side and although the duvet was comfortable we found it too heavy and warm and would have preferred to have had sheets and a blanket so as to sleep a little cooler.

From walking in to the property to leaving after three nights everything was excellent. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent value for money. The location is superb with just minutes from the Minster and other attractions. The mews room where we stayed was quiet and comfortable. I went with my mother and we loved it all and are hopefully going to return next year. Can also highly recommend Feva cafe in the antiques centre and the Phoenix show in the York Minster.
I can honestly say that this has been one of the best breaks we have had and cannot fault anything at all.

Very central and a short walk away from The Citadel where we went to see The Magic Numbers. Short walk to shops, pubs and restaurants and only a few minutes from train station in a taxi for just over £5. Lovely room, spacious with nice bathroom. Bottle of Prosecco in the room , enough for a glass each, very nice touch. Radiator with temperature control which was great as it was a cold night. Breakfast is a bargain for £10, lovely full English, fruit juices, yoghurts and cereals. I would highly recommend ordering this when you check in.
My only issue was despite us checking in not long after 3pm, we were told that there was only 1 slot left for breakfast the following morning for 8am which was disappointing, a little bit early after a night out!

I had a pleasant stay at this bed and breakfast. The staff were very polite and friendly, the location was excellent, and the atmosphere was both clean and welcoming. I also felt safe throughout my stay, which is always important.
The rooms are very basic, and for the overall price I paid, I don’t feel it was worth the cost—especially with the extra £10 for each breakfast and the additional laundry charge. The laundry service was particularly disappointing. My clothes were balled up and shoved into a sack, with my jeans not even completely dry. Everything was wrinkled, and I had to spend 45 minutes ironing and sorting my clothes. For the price of the rooms and extra fee, the service should include properly folded and dried clothing.

The staff and location are the 2 things that excel at the Georgian House & Mews. The staff are very friendly and incredibly helpful and it is located in the heart of York just a short walk from everything you visit York for. A secure parking space was also provided which was very handy. Some people would argue the rooms need a bit of an update but our room was comfortable and spacious and bearing in mind you spend a small amount of time in your room when visiting a city such as this it is more than adequate. Tea coffee selection in room was good and a small bottle of prosecco is a nice touch. I would also recommend paying the 9.95 for the breakfast which included hot selection such as full english and good continental choice with tea/coffee/fresh orange etc.
