Breakfast was not supplied at this time as the hotel is still undergoing refurbishment. There is a little cafe/bakery a couple of doors along from the hotel which does a very good breakfast and you get 10% discount if you tell them you are staying at The White Swan. I had a floor standing fan in my room plus Television, hairdryer and iron and ironing board if needed also tea and coffee facilities.
There was no soap in the bathroom to wash your hands but there was small tubes of shower gel so I used one of those and I think some of the windows need upgrading, There are shutters on the windows which is good.

A friendly hotel and pub packed with period details, perfectly located in the middle of Henley in Arden. Even though it is currently going through a major refurbishment, we found our room to be clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely - always quick to help. The beer was well kept! We only stayed for one night, but, based on this visit, we would most certainly visit again. For the information of anyone interested in visiting, the premises has a good sized car park, accessed via a little lane, to the right of the building, as viewed from the front. Anyone worried about the proximity of the church, and its hourly chimes can be reassured - they are switched off at night!
I'm a light sleeper and a cooler unit switching on and off in the courtyard kept me awake for a little while, but it wasn't a huge problem. (It didn't disturb my husband!) Neither were we concerned about the lack of a breakfast, which might be a problem for some. Some older websites might still mention that it is available, but we made sure of the situation, when booking. We didn't plan to stay around for breakfast, in the town, but saw a nice little teashop, a few doors down, which opens early and had an appetising looking breakfast menu.

The bar has a cosy atmosphere and a very welcome 'happy hour' during late afternoons and early evenings. Unfortunately due to a very recent change in ownership they were unable to provide breakfast. However an acceptable discount on the cost of our stay was offered and advice given on where to purchase a good breakfast at a local bakery/cafe who would give us a 10% discount. The dinner menu was also limited at that time but what we had (fish and chips and prawns with pasta) was very good. The new manager was very friendly and attentive and has positive plans for the business.
Not knowing in advance about the lack of breakfast. Also our bathroom door did not close properly.

Adam, the general manager was very attentive, as was the young lady who checked us in and who was training to be a pilot. The whole experience we had at the hotel was superb. We would definitely stay here again!
Although a very good cut of meat, we did not like the way the steak was served "to be cooked yourself" on a "hot plate" as the plate did not stay very hot for long, so the meat did not have a chargrilled effect and others felt obliged to wait to start their meals whilst the steak was cooked to a person's liking.

The staff were so lovely and really accommodating - we were attending a wedding nearby so requested if it was possible to have an early check in, as we wouldn't be returning to the hotel till late at night. After speaking with the hotel the day before our booking, they were more than happy to allow us to have our keys before check-in, and actually made sure our room was ready early enough so that we could check in, which we were so grateful for. The hotel is full of character and has a real oldy-worldy feel to it, which we loved. The room we stayed in was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our breakfast the following morning - it was delicious! Thank you for a wonderful, albeit short, stay. We would definitely like to return in the future.

We booked on a whim on the morning of travelling. The hotel looked nice and had good reviews and included breakfast with a good nightly rate so we booked. It has plenty of parking, the check in was easy. The staff were very friendly and the room comfortable. Nothing over the top special, but good, clean and attractive rooms. Big shower room. We had left it to late to book the restaurant for dinner so ate in the bar. I can say the food was excellent, I had fish & chips and my partner had chicken & bacon carbonara and both were of good quality, good portion and well priced. We had a comfortable sleep and can tell anybody booking, do not go WITHOUT having the breakfast in the morning! It was the best breakfast I've ever had when staying in hotels. The restaurant is a beautiful seating area and the Full English breakfast is to die for. Plenty of tea/coffee. The toast they supply is half a loaf with your breakfast! 2 sausages, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, beans, mushrooms, tomato. This alone was worth the visit :-) If you are thinking of booking, do so. It was worth it. We would go back.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and were made to feel right at home. The pub itself had a great atmosphere, the food was of a very good standard and the rooms were excellent, with all of the facilities a traveller could wish for. Adam, the general manager, and the lovely young lady (training to be a pilot) made us feel like part of The White Swan Family. We would most definitely stay here again.
There was nothing to dislike.

Stayed here many times over the years - very atmospheric - great bar - (very busy ) free parking - no breakfast option anymore - but well explained no problem - manager and staff excellent at what they do - large bed good size rooms with everything you would need for a couple of nights stay - can't wait to go back
Don't think I could fault anything - for that area just all round great value - altho some people could be put off by the noise from the courtyard on busy nights -

Staff very professional and friendly, great charater place and good parking facilities. Bar was lively and friendly and room was clean, very warm. Bathroom was modern for such an old place with sizzling hot water. Coffee and tea in room with good quality biscuits. Price was very reasonable for what we foresor was a really nice characterful Hotel.
Bed and pillows slightly on the firm side for our taste otherwise, no other negatives to report.

Friendly staffs, bar and restaurant, outdoor garden and seating areas, characters room and building, modern bathroom, in the centre of the town, good parking spaces for cars. Around 25 mins drive to NEC(National exhibition centre), next to a coop supermarket.
Not very energy efficient due to its age and history, the heating is on, but could not keep the heat in, can hear birds walking along the roof and waking up in the morning.
