Location and beautiful hotel. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Truly is a beautiful hotel, with lovely staff.

Restaurant was excellent, but we were only able to eat there on one occasion. We are both vegetarian, and there was only one veggie meal offered. When I asked if a different meal would be available the next day, I was told NO. We didn't want to eat the same meal 2 days running, so had to drive to another restaurant to eat that evening. When we arrived, it appeared that booking.com had not reserved our room, even though we had received numerous emails from them regarding our reservation. The receptionist was wonderful, and after almost half an hour, managed to find us a beautiful room. it was lucky the hotel wasn't full, or we would have had nowhere to stay after a long car journey, but this was not the fault of the hotel and was dealt with quickly and professionally.

Just had a lovely stay at this hotel It’s under some work currently but we can see it will be worth that perfect 5 once all is completed We had Room Number 53 on the first floor which is a King Four Poster room with some lovely views over looking the front which over looks the small abbey and church & car park The bathroom was spacious and offered both a rainfall shower and traditional shower Bed was large and comfy and the finishing touches in the bedroom was lovely The grounds are lovely and on parts some work is required and I’m sure once completed it be a 5 out of 5 Nice to see the work being carried out on the little amount of staff they have all friendly polite and professional You will need a car to reach this place it’s not too far by car from Kenilworth / Coventry / Warwick all a short distance away by car around 10 - 15 minutes Had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to loved ones just for the grounds alone

Little bit of TLC still needed around parts of the hotel and grounds but once done this place would be a 10/10

Beautiful building. Room was superb with lovely shower and very comfortable bed. Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Lift wasn’t working and we were in the top tower room. This made it incredibly difficult with a young baby in tow. We ended up not being able to utilise the facilities at all as we couldn’t use our pram. Breakfast was very slow. queuing with a baby wasn’t ideal. We had been there 20 minutes before we had to ask to order our food and a coffee, to which I declined by then as I was worried about it also taking too long and our baby getting bored and causing a scene. The staff were friendly but I just highly recommend more staff or a complete buffet or at least a coffee machine. The building, grounds and the room were all so pleasant, just a few things that can’t really be passed up for comment. Lack of service and a working lift is a little poor so I had to mention, but it’s a shame.

If you like old, out of town hotels with history you will like this one. Perfect for the NEC and JLR. Considering its age is in very good structural condition. Our room was spacious and very unique in a high vaulted ceiling room, but bound to vary across the hotel from room to room.

The service was very slow due to inexperience we feel - could do a lot better. Staff need training and there was a lack of attention to detail - for example no pots of milk on the tables at breakfast two days in a row, having to chase staff and correct staff over orders.

beautiful place, lots of land to walk on and wildlife all around. slept in the bed was so comfy. the room itself was minimal but great. bar and restaurant staff were lovely. all staff friendly and welcoming

reception on arrival was a bit abrupt and demanding times for dinner and how I would eat etc. I had driven 6hrs without stopping so wasn’t quite ready to decided and was a bit taken back, so panicked and booked dinner in restaurant. Food was delicious, excellent chef, but food and drinks very expensive.

The building is stunning, and has very well refurbished public spaces with great views of the grounds. Our room was comfortable and stylishly decorated, although the view was of a storage/working yard that is obviously not yet refurbished. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was fine. On the whole staff were lovely and tried very hard.

The check in process was a nightmare and not just for us - several other parties had lengthy waits and problems with the check in. Staff worked hard to resolve issues, but this is definitely a teething problem which the owners need to address quickly.

Fantastic views from the room. Really clean room and (BED) breakfast is a really good full English help yourself buffet. Staff very professional and polite. (Big thumbs up to brandon) This is to all the guests moaning about the facilities being closed the hotel warn you before you arrive with emails they are renovating so are closed till next year we didn't find that hard to understand. Will be back soon and I highly recommend to all

More than 2 tea bags in room 4/6 needed for a night's stay , one small thing breakfast staff please don't take away plates before we finished eating

Extremely helpful staff, polite and friendly too. The afternoon tea was one of the best we’ve had. We upgraded our room which was lovely-however see the comment ‘what we didn’t like about the property’

We paid for an upgraded room (advertised with a view) As lovely as the room was, we had the tiniest of non opening window which was almost at floor level so you had to stoop down to see anything out of it. The air conditioning didn’t work so I felt quite claustrophobic as there were no windows to open and it was quite warm. We would book again but wouldn’t pay for an upgraded room as I’m sure there were plenty of other rooms with lovely views.

Breakfast was great. Really good cooked English. Bar was warm, comfortable, friendly and had great views. I stayed in a mansion single and the bed was phenomenally comfortable. Newly refurbished shower room. All great. The drive up to the hotel was flanked with a bed of daffodils on either side. Glorious.

The windows in my bedroom couldn't be opened. They'd been painted shut; not a problem in early April but it might be in the summer if you want a bit of fresh air. Signage for rooms / reception / bar / dining room was on laminated paper which was a bit of out of keeping but did the job.

The rooms were clean and so was the hotel. Staff very helpful and the receptionist was also very helpful and friendly when we first arrived. Great location for the things we wanted to do in the area as well like visit Warwick and Stratford upon Avon.

The hotel is getting revamp and the finishing could have been a little better like the mastic work in the bathroom. The restaurant seemed very odd and cold in atmospheric feel and would not recommend that as so many nice places to eat around the hotel.
