The reception we received was wonderful. Thankdeka was very pleasant and accommodating due to us arriving early. The gesture of a " DRINK" on the house was thoughtful. KG and Theo were wonderful and pleasant when assisting with drinks throughout the stay. Theo, was good to speak to and has a sense of humor that makes one comfortable. The decor and ambiance of the place was amazing and love how each setting has a different vibe. The DJ was entertaining as well. The rooms were clean and spacious. The dessert spread at dinner (buffet) was AMAZING! Compliments to the pastry Chef! Breakfast was spectacular!

The only down side is that , the dinner (buffet) was not up to standard. The rice was overcooked and there was limited spread of mains. The starters, with the exception of the sushi was also not to our liking. The was no airfreshner at the hotel bathroom

Everything was great from welcoming drink , reception lady was so friendly when we check in ..The room we booked was exceptional..The dinner was delicious . The other thing that was outstanding was we came late from the concert and we were so amazed that the hotel has 24hr placing order for food .thus for certain food on the menu .....that was the greatest idea cause we came back late from concert and very hungry lol ...not forgeting the soft pillow and bed . ...looking forward to book again in the future ..keep up the great work ..4rom Pops and daughter 👌🏽

I just love everything about it though. it was a mom and 1yr old daughter getaway. the location in excellent and very close to N1 plus Menlyn Mall. the breakfast and dinner buffet I enjoyed. the room was nicely decorated and for the price it met my expectations. the stuff were ok. and they agreed to let me check out at 10:45 instead of 10oclock without any fee.

it's not their problem but was sad 😢 that I couldn't manage to extend my stay by 1 day. it was fully booked. I love the hotel and will always be my number 1 spot in pretoria

Exceptional set up. Staff great. Breakfast fantastic. Room spacious and beautiful. Perfect size and optimum use of space. Best hotel room we have experienced in a long time.

Some of the guests were a bit under dressed. Hardly any clothes. I suppose that is the way the youth rocks. Would really be nice if the bed has got a flat sheet between the duvet and fitted sheet. A duvet builds up heat with your own body heat and causes over heating. A flat sheet gives you an option to just sleep under it and or the duvet.

Compliments to the chef/chef's breakfast and dinner was exceptional. Staff very helpful and friendly Rooms are sound proof no noise from outside, clean and neat.

When I made booking through booking.com room picture reflected a bath and shower. When room was allocated to us there was only a shower. But i did query it and was immediately assisted by reception and taken to a room with bath and shower. Thank you once again.

After the booking was confirmed I have received an e-mail from the hotel asking the reason for the stay. Informed the hotel that we are going to watch a show and then sleep over as it is my birthday. Pleasantly surprised that when we walked in to the room there was a happy birthday plate with a slice of cake. The personal touch is applaudable.

There was actually nothing that we did not like.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Protea Fire and Ice. The staff were friendly and the bed was very comfortable. The shower pressure was fantastic and we enjoyed the breakfast. The location was very convenient as we were going to a concert at Times Square.

We were hoping that there would be more of a quiet area to lounge by the pool and swim but it doesn't seem that the pool is for lounging around or really swimming in. Rather more for looking at. It was very popular and there were many people so was hard to find a space to even sit. I think it would have been nice to be told by the hotel that the pool area gets very busy for drinks and there is a DJ all afternoon. There was a black stain on the fitted sheet which was a little off putting and the pastries seemed a little starchy and stale. I did not really like the out of space décor, not sure why a hotel would go for that theme.

I love the breakfast, it was out of this world. I like the fact that it accommodates different people with different diets. Even though the hotel its said to be a 4 star but your breakfast is that of the 5 star hotel. The staff is very friendly and always willing to assist guests. The hotel is very clean and with a pleasant smell. the hotel is really value for the money, I would definitely visit again and recommend it to other traveler's.

The staff were friendly, welcoming and always very professional and gave excellent customer service and attention to detail. The food was clearly made with love and everyone that I engaged with were people I would employ in my business. Thank you for creating such a warm welcome for my first trip to South Africa. I will be back.

My jet lag and the bed spread on my bed wasn’t warm enough on the cold night.

Our room on the 5th floor looked exactly as advertised online with an Amazing view. It was very pleasant and warm especially because it was a very cold night. We were happy with the facilities in our room and It was also quite relaxingly peaceful and quiet during the night. The breakfast was truly amazing for us, we loved the fact that it was a buffet with a vast range of delicious food to choose from.
