Great location for Guggenheim with parking. Tram stop gives easy access to old town. Good restaurant and friendly helpful staff. Large comfortable room. Great that we were able to use the sauna and steam room nude.

Breakfast too expensive so we went to a bakery round the corner for a fraction of the price.

We stayed 4 nights here last week. From arrival to departure everything was perfect. The staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Room was super clean and comfortable. Cleaning staff always friendly if we met them . Breakfast was possibly the best we have had in a 5 star hotel outside Ireland. Overall a lovely hotel with a staff who seemed to enjoy taking care of their guests. This is not the case in every hotel.

What did we like? Everything, this is how you run a Hotel. OK it has a fantastic location opposite the Guggenheim Museum, which is actually more an Art Gallery than a Museum. But it doesn't rest on those laurels, like one Hotel on this trip. Of the 8 Hotels we stayed in through Spain and Portugal, this was hands down the best. From being greeted at the entrance, having our car parked for us ( thank you Diego) and the bags immediately taken tour room (thank you Jorge), to the very pleasant welcome from Carolina, we could tell immediately how good our experience would be. The room, overlooking the Guggenheim was a little cramped but beautifully presented, the bathroom more than making up for that. We loved the shower and bath above the wooden slatted floor acting as the drain, a very nice design touch with the electric blinds attention to detail. Breakfast on the roof terrace was icing on the cake. Everything worked seamlessly, the view was stunning, the staffs attention to detail impeccable. Highly recommended by seasoned travellers who have stayed in some spectacular accommodation. It was that good.

We had to upgrade our room due to the fact that we needed a walk in shower instead of a tub shower for safety reasons. The hotel was able to find us a room. The front desk was very helpful, they let us check out the room first before making a decision. We picked the room with walk in shower, which also has a beautiful view of the Gueggenhein Museum. Hotel staff were very friendly. The concierge gave us some excellent suggestions as to restaurants and sightseeing. Excellent location, right in front of the Gueggenhein Museum. There are many sidewalk cafes, pharmacy, etc right near the hotel. Also very close to one of the City View Tours bus stop. Breakfast is served on the terrace, which has panoramic view of the museum and the city. Nice breakfast with plenty of selections.

With a tub and a walk in shower that took up a large area of space. Also the shower is set on a wooden deck, which can be slippery. There isn't any surface area for shower supplies, such as shampoo, soap, etc. There is not enough closet area for luggages.

My wife and I were celerbrating our 53rd wedding anniverasry. We have been staying at 5 star hotels all over the world to celerbrate our annual wedding anniverasry for the last 30+ years. None of them can compare to the Gran Hotel Domine Bilbao. If there was a 10 star hotel rating this hotel would get it. The view of the Gugenhiem from our room and our balcony was magical. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, is the best in all of Bilbao, right across the street from the amazing Gugenhiem. The hotel was TOTAL PERFEECT in all areas, the staf was the best we have ever had serve us, especially the front desk staff.

There was not one thing that we did not like. TOTAL PERFECTION in every area is impossible to beat.

For a 5 star hotel to not be able to get a stable signal for bbc world news is a major failure - no cnn or other English language news channel. they very kindly changed me to a better room with amazing facilities and newer TV but still BBC constantly buffering. The corridors are somewhat dark and finding the doors was a challenge. If a guest had pooe eyesight this would be a real issue - similarly inside rooms finding the storage areas. I still loved it. The information in the guide was limited in some areas - the gym/spa area had really limited information and no clarity at all on what was offered and what it looked like. I would have used it but just seemed too much hassle. why no pool? The large bathrobe does not fit an xl man or a person over 1.85m tall.

The arrival by car was smooth and there is a valet parking underneath the hotel, so very convenient. Location is excellent, right across the Bilbao Guggenheim. Excellent breakfast is on the top floor terrace overlooking the Museum. Only 15 min walk to the old town, and many nice restaurants on the way there. We also enjoyed the stroll along the river on the north bak towards the old town. Room was very nice, especially the bath room.

Not much to improve. Really nice staff. Maybe a pool would have been nice.

Breakfast was superb. So much choice. Great selection of fresh fruit and bread and pastries and option to order hot food. One of the best breakfasts we’ve experienced.

We did get stuck in the hotel lift for an hour.. but I guess that was just bad luck! Hotel maintenance were on call quickly but had to call external help. Fortunately we are not easy to flap! Might have been nice to be offered a complimentary drink when we got out as we didn’t make any fuss!

Brilliant breakfast - excellent range and choice. Fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and cheese. Staff all without exception were helpful and very friendly. Great atmosphere in hotel and not at all corporate. Really appreciated attention to design and the art in all public spaces, much of which had a quirky humour. Wonderful 7th floor terrace overlooking Guggenheim roof.

Only small downside was that our room only had a bath and there was no shower except inside the bath. Not good for those who are less less agile.

This is a top tier hotel and experience. We were just gutted we didn't have longer to stay there. We've been travelling for months around Europe so we've had lots of amazing places to stay but the minute we arrived we knew this was a 5-star hotel. Fantastic hotel aesthetically, rooms were spacious and well decked out with top products for us. The gym was amazing and the breakfast/view of the Guggenheim in the morning was worth the trip alone. The staff too were excellent, exceptional service from start to finish.
