Location was very good, close to main Burgos bus station and city centre and cathedral. Staff at reception couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. The overall look of the hotel on entry was quirky, quite old fashioned and all the better for that. Overall, a comfortable little gem at a reasonable price. Happy all round with my stay. Would recommend to fellow travellers.

Room was small, lacked space to move around comfortably. But i was okay with that, not really a criticism.

the staff was exceptional; location exceptional

the room felt like a dungeon with no windows (an artificial one that looked out into another area and was a fake window), it got so hot i was sweating profusely. no fan, no ac. The incredible staff made up for the room. The owner should stay in it a night or two… it’s that hot in there. Dungeon hot.

Friendly staff at the reception, very helpful. Nice location and fairly quiet in the nighttime.

Small bathroom, but it was clean and sufficient for what I wanted. Reception is open at 07:30am, which is fine for a normal traveller but was on the Camino and wanted to start earlier, so I had to wait to leave my bag to be forwarded.

It ticked all the boxes for value. The shower was hot, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was reasonable value for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. But..

Something just felt wrong about the room I was in. I just got a bad feeling. Nothing to do with the level of staff service or standards. I'm not particularly religious or superstitious but I got a bad feeling. I trust my instincts and they've never failed me yet. It may need a religious ceremony to restore harmony. I'll leave it at that.

The Hotel Jacobeo could not be more central in Burgos. It is on the Route St Jaques as it passes through this fine city, about 200 mtrs from the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral. The Hotel is realistically priced at the budget end of the spectrum, but none the worse for that. Overnight guests do not usually want luxurious and overstaffed stops, especially in a city like Burgos where life on the streets is what you go for. The bars, the tapas, the exhibitions, the history and all the vibrancy of a Spanish city at the top of it's game. The public areas are small, but adequate for a simpe breakfast, but why bother with the hotel when there are better right on the doorstep!! The rooms we had were clean, adequate in every way with lashings of hot water and good showers. All the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. A thoroughly recommended stop for top value and location.

Soundproofing??

Service at front desk. The young man at reception (Abel?) went over and beyond to help us check in early. We just wanted to drop off our backpacks and come back later. But he had our room cleaned and checked us in 2 hours before the scheduled time. Also the hotel is close to EVERYTHING. Very convenient. Muy conveniente!!

Room smelled a little musty.

Very friendly check-in staff who let me check in one hour early. They also gave me a map of Burgos and showed me the best places to see. Nice hot and powerful shower. The room seemed clean. Extremely quiet.

I was in the basement and I couldn’t open the window which meant the room became very stuffy and hot, especially after using the shower.

The host and his staff were truly lovely people. They were very good about explaining the facility and engaged with me and my needs.
