This was a beautiful building in the heart of old Cadiz, no expense has been spared on the furnishings and decor - a real 'wow' factor when we arrived. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Our stay at Casa Cánovas was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. I was impressed with the customer service of Fernando at the front desk. He was incredibly helpful. I had left my medications in my room and called later that day and they had found them. Fernando boxed them and had them shipped directly to me. He followed up every step of the way, you do not see that level of service these days, it is rare and I appreciated very much much. We forward to coming back to Casa Canovas in the future.

Friendly staff, great bar/restaurant, lovely spacious room. Terrific Italian/Spanish menu. Reasonably priced. Good wine list. Try the sandwich option at lunchtime, absolutely delicious. Superb bed, bathroom with large bath and separate shower. Luxurious feel. Atmospheric old town street.

Difficult location to drive to/drop off baggage/park, will cost extra 17 euros parking per night. 150 metres walk from safe underground car park. Noisy on street with al fresco restaurant at hotel. No problem unless you really value quiet and peace for stay.

The location was ideal for what we wanted in that to explore Cádiz and the hotel was in an ideal location.

Bedside lights were too dim even to read by. The wardrobe door was broken at the bottom were it looked like some of the panelling needed nailing back in. The bathroom was lacking in shelf space for toiletries could do with a shelf either side of the wash basin. Otherwise very comfortable bed and nice furnishings.

Beautiful old world charm and luxury with modern comfort. And the staff was really helpful. From helping us navigate the local self-service laundry (the machines add the soap automatically unlike the states) to suggesting restaurants, making reservation and ensuring our taxi was there when we needed it.

Not much. If you push me, the gigantic bathroom was really nice but you did have to squeeze into the toilet area but that is only if you push me.

We loved being greeted, welcomed, given visitor tips and generally treated as valued guests. We felt we were amongst friends. The room was very elegant with a fantastic bathroom with a discreet toilet, extremely well designed. Beautiful bathroom products. Tissues, face washers, shampoo AND conditioner, fridge, tea and coffee, large comfy bed. external windows for light. Gorgeous rooftop terrace for our late night cups of tea. Great location.

We loved the graciousness of the staff and the helpful information they provided. The restaurant was wonderful. We enjoyed sitting outside.for out meals We plan to stay there again. Fernando was especially kind and helpful. If we knew the names of others at reception we would mention their names too. Also, we loved our room. We noticed extra effort was put into making our room more accommodating. For example, there were 3 different sets of glasses - champagne, tumbler... Lastly, the location is great.

Breakfast was an additional cost at the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, but first class service and food, and very reasonably priced. Hotel location is excellent in the centre of the old town. Staff were lovely and friendly. Room was very comfortable with a very spacious bathroom and wardrobe area.

Towels were wafer thin - this was the only thing we would fault about the hotel - a shame because everything else was perfect.

Great location close to all the sights and shops in the old town. Beautifully renovated and well thought out rooms. The roof terrace is a nice touch too. Fernando, the owner, is super helpful with suggestions for bars, restaurants and sightseeing.

Our only issue was with the adjoining restaurant where we had breakfast. The first day was great, the second it was very poor. I think it depends on which are staff are working on the day. We had an evening meal there which was very good.

Minor detail but having an honesty bar in the lounge area or more choice in the mini bar which could have been chilled would have made this perfect
