Arrived early and was given early checkin which was fabulous. Beds have privacy curtains and own power outlets. There’s a small lamp but it’s quite ineffective. Couldn’t read a book using it unfortunately. Lockable storage for cabin bags under the bed. Good shower. Free churros and coffee in the mornings. Small kitchen.
No blankets which is so weird because it was about 12c overnight. I asked for a blanket and was given this weird kind of plastic sheet thing that was too small and not warm at all so I paid €3 for a towel and used that. Had to get dressed in clothes and puffer jacket to sleep. Madness

The hostel was in a very central location and next to a metro station. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I LOVED the rooftop bar and I am glad I had my last drinks up there. The room was clean and I felt very safe. There was a big locker underneath the bed. The bed was very comfortable, with a reading light, a small storage pocket and a socket. There were several toilets and showers in the building and they were all in good condition. I stayed in an en-suite. The shower temperature and pressure was superb. The kitchen facilities were amazing and there was plenty of space to prepare and store food. I loved the tours and activities and I met some amazing people.
Ensuite shower was leaking water into the room. The sealant around the shower at 501 needs to be renewed because it is mouldy. This will also stop the leaking.

I had an incredible experience at 2060 The Newton Hostel! The location is unbeatable—right in the center of Madrid, within walking distance of major attractions like Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and Gran VĂa. It made exploring the city so easy! One of the highlights was the social events they organize, like walking tours and pub crawls, which made it easy to connect with other guests. The staff was amazing—always helpful, giving great recommendations, and making sure everyone felt welcome. Plus, the Wi-Fi was strong. I’ll definitely be coming back. 🇧🇷🇳🇱

2060 The Newton Hostel is in an excellent location - easily walkable to many attractions. The dorm rooms were nice and spacious. Locker size varies depending on which bed you have. The shower temperature was usually warm. The common room is small but cozy. There is an elevator to avoid climbing stairs. I really enjoyed my stay here.
The individual bed lights in the dorm shine like the beacons of Gondor. It would really be nice if they were dimmable. It would be nice to have more hanging spaces in the room and bathroom. Some of the activities they advertise are not going on right now (tapas, bike rental, sauna), which would have been nice to know before booking.

oh the staff were lovely, ready to help whenever, and they prepare a lot of activities. i went to the flamenco show for 35 eur, it was close to the hostel too. but they have other stuff like tours, bar hopping, evening games etc. the terrace was very nice to sit at, spent some time there for the sunset. the common spaces were fine, the kitchen had a lot of ammenities. you can rent towels and lockers, but should bring your own shampoo, shower gel etc. the bed was actually very comfortable, they do have extra blankets if needed though. i slept on the last floor, from which you can hear the people from the terrace, but there is a 11pm curfew for silent hours so after that it's really not a problem anymore. the number per floor was ok, didn't have to wait. and i like that the shower had an extra dry space with a sink and some hangers. the location of the hostel is veeery good, it's very close to a metro train station, and close to the city center too, which makes it easy to walk to a lot of location of tourist interest.
The showers. it's the type of shower that is fixed and high on the wall, and it had a repeat push button that was releasing water for 10 seconds and also the temperature was fluctuating a bit. you can take a shower, but i was really not looking forward to it. i think it would be worth investing in something better.

The location is exceptional - the metro station is just around the corner and all the most famous places are reachable on foot in a matter of minutes. There's a lot of privacy in the comfy beds and the storage space was enough for a backpack and a larger bag. Even if there was a lot of noise coming from the common area on the top floor (I stayed one floor below) if was not hearable in the room itself. It was nice that the showers were very private and had an area where you could change clothes without getting them wet.
The biggest drawback for me was the shower and tap water situation - you had to push a button to get water for a limited time. In the shower, you have to repeatedly push the button to get a constant stream of water and it would only get warm after some time. The shower head was also quite high, so it was a bit hard to use as a shorter person.

First of all, amazing experience with communication with staff before arrival. They reply within minutes and are very helpful. The hostel is easily accessible, prime location, extremely friendly staff who speak impeccable English. The dorms are modern, clean, beds spacious enough with privacy curtains which are amazing. Chargers, storage pockets and reading lamp in every bed. Free churros and coffee for breakfast! Shower and toilet facilities are plenty and clean. The rooftop bar is an amazing spot, and there are plenty of activities daily and nightly to keep you busy
I feel towels could be provided for free for this price. I also found the lockers to some of the beds (not all of them) are a bit compact and awkward in size so there’s not a lot you can fit in them.

Bunk beds with curtains, air conditioner, self-cook kitchen with all the stuff in it, really kind & helpful staff and location. I also made some really good friends and I know that is not a permanent thing about the place but the guests are generally nice and young people.
Actually not a big deal but the private bathroom sink is really small. I wish there were a six bed-female room type instead of 12 because 12 people in one room is really loud since some of the guests are on vacation and being loud at night and some of the guests are here for study/vacation and want to get rest properly:) but i’d still give 10 stars to the hostel!!

Staff are exceptionally sympathetic, supportive: when I left room card inside the room, they issued a new one, or help me open the door, no additional $ deposit asked, no dirty look upon. When I had difficulty going through Spanish web site, staff helped to complete the transaction, and refused my money for thanks… Their understanding for travelers error is unbelievably common sense and supportive, considering it was very busy.
The dorm beds with curtain provided much needed privacy, while risked infectious bacteria hanging inside the bed chamber? I got throat discomfort after three nights. I hardly get sick ever.

I decided to visit Madrid alone and staying in an hostel. It was my first time but I actually felt pretty comfortable. The position of the hostel is perfect, very close to plaza mayor and all the other attractions were not that far either. The hostel presents itself very nice, i really liked the atmosphere and also the staff has always been very available and with a smile on their face. For being an hostel I think it was pretty clean. I felt safe inside too. The bar in the terrace made pretty good drinks and it was a cool place to hang out and meet other people.
I honestly would have liked if the terrace of the hostel was gonna be open 24/7 even without the access at the bar. Just to go there, chill and for the smokers to smoke their cigarettes in peace without being in the middle of the street.
