Pros: (1) Perfect central location, (2) Very friendly staff ready to assist, (3) 24 hr reception, (4) comfortable room with good space, (5) Very quiet despite the central location, (6) very good cleanliness, (7) very good lights both in the room and the bathroom, (8) well equipped room, (9) warm room despite the low temperature outside, however we had to ask the reception for switching-on the heating. We did not try the breakfast so cannot comment.

Cons: (1) Slight bad smell coming from the bathroom - that's the main reason for the lower score, (2) small elevator - during peak hours we had to wait a bit or take the stairs, (3) there was not a shower shelf to place you own shampoo or gel while taking your shower.

The soundproofing is not great; i could hear almost everything in the next room. However, with earplugs it was fine.

The hotel is situated down a side street next to the "Basic Fit" gym. The main entrance is a arch doorway with large metal gates. If the gates are locked there is a buzzer intercom system on the right of the door. Press the button near the bottom right with the "hostal" label. Once inside take the left door upstairs to the hostal reception. The breakfast is available next door at the "De Martin Restaurante - Cafe. The hotel was great and the breakfast was good but busy at certain times.

The personel was extremely friendly and helpful (all of them), providing solutions before presenting our requests :). Our room looked great and had everything we needed including a mini-fridge. It was very warm and they had radiators (essential since we traveled in February), with a really comfortable large bed, it was quiet (we didn't hear the neighbors at all), powerful and big shower, possibility to leave luggage and see the city before the check in and after the check out. They even borrowed an electric kettle to prepare a tea. And we enjoyed the breakfast too, quite varied and always refiling. The location, close to all important museums and streets, so we only walked. And you even have a supermarket less than 1 minute away. Thank you for everything! ❤️

The location is perfect, it is close to Puerto de Sol square an other attractions in a walkable distance. The staff was very helpful. They organised a packed breakfast for us at 6am, when we had early excursion. The room was not large bur convenient to stay. There was a kettle in the room and small fridge. Breakfasts are very good, all is fresh and each can find what to eat.

The breakfast area is too small and you need to go outside of the hotel, but it is just next to the hotel, so wasn't a big deal for us. Sometimes we couldn't find a free table and had to wait (not long). There was no coffee machine, therefore choice was limited and sometimes coffee was not hot enough. Another thing is elevator in the building. It's small and slow. If you are fit enough, i would suggest using stairs.

Location is pretty good. Near 2 metro stations and quite central in the city area. Room is clean and love the balcony for our room where we could look down the streets. Breakfast is at the cafe next to the hotel. Quality was good enough but seats were very limited so make sure you leave ample time for breakkie.

There is NO parking available (they really should update the sign by the road) so make sure you offload your luggage near the entrance which is in the alley and not along the main road. There was no kettle in the room and no hot water available. For a hostel (which I assume since the name is Hostal), there should be this basic facility in a common area.

The location is absolutely perfect, making it easy to explore the city and get to all the main attractions. The room was spotless, and the bathroom was clean and modern. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help with any questions or requests. I also appreciated having a secure locker for my luggage. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay!

The noise was a major issue—there was constant noise from the hallway, and you could hear everything from the neighboring rooms. On top of that, sounds from the reception carried through, especially when the hallway door was left open. The lack of a nice view was also disappointing, though I understand that’s due to the building's location. Overall, the noise levels made it hard to relax.

Everything was great. We enjoyed our stay. The beds are comfy, and the room is super clean. They clean and change towels every day, the staff on the reception is super kind and friendly. Location is superb - a walk away from everything you want to visit in Madrid. The pictures on the booking don't do it justice since the rooms are better in person. Very bright and comfortable. You have an option to hold your luggage for some time after the check in as well. Great stay, will be our choice next time as well! Muchísimas gracias por todo ❤️

The room and the breakfast were surprinsingly satisfying for a hostel. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast as it had warm and cold food, sweet and sour, varied enough and I didn't mind paying for the good coffee. The double room felt like a normal hotel. It is really close to Plaza del Sol and most interesting things to see in Madrid. And it has a Dia Supermarket within 50 meters

The walls are incredibly thin, so you can hear everything from all rooms. And if you have the window facing the interior patio/courtyard, it's even worse as it resonates from different floors. We had two quite difficult nights out of three because of neighbours who wouldn't stop talking

I had a wonderful stay! The location is ideal—just a short walk to Plaza Mayor, El Corte Inglés for shopping, and San Inés Chocolatería. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Our train from Granada was significantly delayed, and we didn’t arrive until after midnight, but they kindly checked in with us via WhatsApp, which we really appreciated. The staff were warm, welcoming, and hospitable throughout our stay. The room was cleaned promptly each day, and I loved having both heating and air conditioning available. For the price, this hotel offers great value—it’s clean, has comfortable beds, and even an elevator. While it may not have all the amenities of a luxury hotel, it’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for comfort and convenience. They also have a supermarket next door which opens until 11 pm.

The room is small and lacks a few conveniences like a kettle and cups, and the bathroom amenities are limited to shower gel.
