Nice welcome staff also for my dog the hotel look so beautiful Christmas decorations, the hotel was close to everything, museums, restaurants etc BUT the more important things was closer to the Retiro park where my dog and us can take her for a nice walk every day that was the more important things for us to be available to take care her and take stress out of our vacations Thank you NH staff to make our vacations easier I recommend this hotel 100 % was nice, clean, closer to the train station and all the nice attractions, restaurants and bars

NH Madrid Nacional is very centrally located: 10 minutes' walk from Atocha station, directly across from the Botanical Garden, and within 5 or 10 minutes of museums including Prado, Reina Sofia, Caixa Forum. The main shopping district is also nearby. 10 minute's walk also brings many restaurants and bars into reach. The rooms are relatively small, but well furnished and comfortable. Good shower, comfortable bed. Breakfast is really splendid, with a broad choice of foods. There is a bar and restaurant in house, which is good for a late meal after arrival. I've stayed four times, and it never disappoints.

Very good hotel in ideal location

Something rather unusual for upper middle end hotel in general and NH in particular: all of the provided pillows were very poor and in fact not comfortable at all. The staff promptly provided us with good/normal ones when requested (they were called "hortopedic" pillows) but it was rather a surprise to experience such thin and unpleasant pillows in this type of good hotels. So problem easily solved at no extra costs as of night 2. Perhaps someone at procurement made a cost-cutting choice, but hopefully quality will step in soon to replace the low end pillows currently in use and get back (?) to standard sized/thickness pillows... we would say pillows are rather core components of the core business of hosting people over night.

We got a bigger room in check-in that we had booked beforehand which was nice. The location is really good, next to the Atocha station and you are able to walk to all the main attractions. Check-out not until noon was a nice addition too.

The receptionists were not very friendly and all of them did not speak English very well. It was quite cold in our room and it felt the heating was not really working. The walls between the rooms are also super thin, I could hear the neighbors alarm in the morning like it was my own and also hear them wathing the tv. The room could have been a bit cleaner as well, considering the price point of the hotel.

The room was agreeable - a good size for a couple adults - could benefit from a better dining option - more meals available around the clock - also could use a hot pot for coffee/tea - liked the location for the museums and train station - was pleased with the staff - overall very good! I would recommend it.

The outside area was rather noisy and congested - it is a busy part of town - good to know if you are traveling with kids and/or adults who need their sleep! The concierge wasn't available much - The area is good for dining options outside - went to hang out at the Radisson Red around the corner - a nice atmosphere for a friendly bar there

The strategic location, staying in an historical building but in a most recently refurbished room (with special terrace towards the gardens), impeccable service. In particular, compliments to the breakfast buffet, generous and replenished until the very end of service by a very efficient team. The (new?) Restaurant at the ground floor needs some more time to mature as far as service but the food options are quite interesting and an excellent option in the area for a slightly better food than the infinite number of fast food options around. Altogether, highly reccomended.

I've just returned for three nights with my girlfriend who went to relax and browse the cities cultural and social offerings. I would say the hotel is in a good location as it has an abundance of things to do within a 10-15 minute walk. There's plenty of public transport around the area and the hotel has good connection the airport. The bus from outside the airport is 5 euro and a taxi is 30. The staff are mostly friendly, especially Angelica who gave good recommendations. The room was clean and bedsheets/towels were replaced everyday, it was modern and the bed is comfortable. The air conditioning is good, my room was facing am internal courtyard so the noise was minimal, it may be noisier if you're on the main road but the AC negates the need to have the window open and the view of the park opposite will be lovely! The internal bar and restaurant wasn't to my particular taste but it was still pleasant and there's plenty of places within a 5 minute walk if you fancy a drink but don't want to venture too far. It's also perfectly situated to eat at any time of the day/night. I personally enjoyed the abundance of fast food places on the street for a snack at the end of a night after a few Sangrias. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time and I would be happy to return to the city and the hotel. I would recommend staying here if you want somewhere that is modern, looks nice, in a central location, is clean and provides good value for money.

This hotel is in a great location for a solo traveler. 5-7 minute walk to the train terminal, Reina Sofia Museum, the Prado Museum and the botanical garden. A 15 min walk to the Parque del Buen Retiro. The room was super clean and bed/pillows were very comfortable. Room had a balcony overlooking the park and although it was on a main street, I had a good night sleep during my stay.

The front desk reception staff were not as welcoming as I expected. They came across as arrogant and bit rude. I had a completely different experience with the Sevilla and Granada hotel staff. Suggest customer service training, especially for anyone working the front desk since they are the first contact. The housekeeping staff were all great and very attentive so they are excluded from my above comment.

Very close to the train station, which was great for us! Short walking distance to the main attractions, and across the street from Parque El Ritero. The hotel seems popular for businesses and conferences so there were quite a few guests, especially in the morning breakfast area. Many choices and good food offered for breakfast. The room was a bit small, but clean and comfortable. Just wish that our balcony wall wasn't so high because we couldn't enjoy the view much.

The hotel is located close to the Atocha train station and just a few blocks from the Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Retiro. The bed was comfortable. Although my room looked out onto the very busy Passeo del Prado, I heard very little street noise in the room. The bathroom had a nice large shower and a counter with plenty of space. The room has an electric kettle and a small coffee machine. The breakfast buffet is excellent. There is a wide variety of food available at the buffet and you can request different items like omelets or fried eggs be made fresh. I especially enjoyed the selection of fresh fruit available.

The room was surprisingly small. It was OK for one person, but I can't imagine two people being comfortable in the room. There hardly room for my suitcase. The hotel offers two levels of wifi. The free version is pretty spotting and frequently drops. It makes streaming very difficult.
