Small, independent hotel in an expensive city. They focus on small rooms with decent beds and clean, modern bathrooms. They add in really lovely personal service and, to my astonishment, daily home-made cakes for about €2. The Illy coffee, better than in most coffee bars, is free all day. I was impressed by the effort being made by this place. As a solo woman travelling for work, I also felt very comfortable. And there's a great tapas bar across the road.

SleepN Atocha is nestled very close to the Metro Station Estación Del Arte and a 10 minute walk from Madrid’s Atocha Rail Station. Nearby is the beautiful El Retiro Park which is huge!! A warm welcome from the team on our arrival and check-in was straightforward- you can also check-in online prior to arrival. The room is compact and suits the busy traveller who simply wants a good comfortable night’s sleep (well soundproofed), a powerful hot/cold shower and a hearty breakfast before starting their day. Also tea, coffee and beer are available in the foyer free of charge to guests during their stay. A special mention to the team coordinating the breakfast service. You are booked into a 30min slot (on hotel arrival). It can be busy depending on the day/time but the staff are friendly and efficient and ensure you have the best seat in the rooftop restaurant- our final morning had sunrise views. So much choice for discerning palates and allergens are taken care of. All breakfast choices were regularly topped up and the staff very alert and attentive. You can leave your luggage at the hotel (€1) before and after check-in/check-out and if it is particularly large/ no room in the lockers they will scoot safely until your return. SleepN Atocha is the perfect place to enjoy all the highlights and secret places of Madrid as a tourist, domestic or international. Great concept hotel, warm & friendly welcome from Margi & other receptionist (apologies for the miss spelling) who checked us in early. Tasty & delious breakfast at rooftop with good choice of dishes essepecialy the unlimited fresh squeezed orange juice, home made cakes & pastries excellent value @10 euros, special thanks to Candela & other breakfast staff for making us so welcome. Spotlessly clean hotel & room, environmently conscious policy, a donation to tree planting from hotel if room not serviced daily. Free tea, coffee & snacks daliy on rooftop plus at reception food & drinks avaliable at comfortable lounge area open 24/7. We would definitely stay here again, walking distance to triangle of fantastic art museums, restaurants, other attractions a five minute walk to too Atocha Railway Station.. I must emphasise the friendliness & helpfulness of all staff which made our stay extremely pleasurable & would like to extend our gratitude to all staff for this.

The staffs are very nice and friendly, the reception is quick and smooth. The location is perfect, it is only 7-8 min away from Atocha station, multiple bus stations are just scattered nearby, making it so easy for you to access the attractions. You have KFC, McDonald’s, Starbucks and some other restaurants just outside then hotel building. Breakfast is another winner, food is diverse and tasty, and they serve home-made cookies, churros, cakes and breads, don’t miss them. There is a free coffee bar at terrace located on 7th floor, where you can have free coffee and bread.

The room space is too small even for a solo traveler, you basically have a bed, a TV, a tiny little desk, nothing else. There is no water, coffee or tea in the room, though you can have them on the terrace, but still it is not convenient. The lights on the room ceiling and AC panel are annoying, also, the AC was noisy when running, if you have light sleep, you should be aware of this. Anyway, though with minor flaws, if you only stay in Madrid for a few nights and just need a place to sleep, this hotel is definitely a good choice for you.

Very compact single room with everything in it and also luggage facilities in the lobby (€1 storage fee) meant that it was easy and central to get out and about. Separately, all staff without exception pleasant, courteous and professional - nice one, guys 👍

Too many generated messages via the Booking.com app which makes it disruptive to constantly get yet another stream of messages when focused on doing other things. Not clear from the generated messages at a glance how easy it is to get to and from airport: just take the no. 203 bus to and from Atoche station for €5. Why not provide people with a map of the area and have easy written down information like about getting too and from the airport - I suspect not many people turn up in a car for the centre of the capital city.

Staff were super helpful both before we arrived and during our stay. Liked how they called up to the room to make sure all was OK. The rooms had a lovely fresh smell and the bedding was nice. Nice idea to offer free soft drinks for online check in. Like the location for station access and a few nice bars in the area which was not noisy.

The room was called a small double room and it definitely was small. Difficult to store the suitcases. Had to put in the shower area and move them when showering. Ok for a short stay but would book a larger room if staying longer .

The property was very clean and organized. Loved the quirky design! The staff were super friendly and helpful. So nice that we had free coffee, water, and fountain drinks available 24/7. Property centrally located to all attractions, dining, and shopping. We thought our room was cozy, bathroom a bit more generous in size. A big shout out to their excellent laundry service. For 10 euros, had a full bag of clothes washed, folded, and delivered to our room. So nice to have all clean clothes midway through vacation.

We didn’t have a problem with the room size but this could be an issue for other families that require more space to set up their room or navigate within. Also, maybe some type of non skid mat in the shower, the floor is very slippery.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the Museum Quarter, and very close to public transport links. The breakfast was high quality with, lots of choice. The rooftop room is nice to relax in after a hard day in the art galleries, with the bonus of free tea & coffee always available. Although the rooms are small, they are practical, clean and comfortable and ours was quiet, facing onto an interior courtyard. The staff were all very helpful, welcoming and friendly. The hotel's eco-friendly approach seems genuine. It was a very reasonable price too.

Only that the bathroom door in our room didn't close tightly, with big gaps all round, so it lacked complete privacy.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and exceptional. The 7th floor breakfast area was truly a great experience with a nice selection of buffet style foods. The lobby had a relaxing laid-back area filled with snack foods, drinks and games. The surrounding city neighborhood added to the vibrant livelihood of the hotel, which is adjacent to the Atocha Train station, which we used a couple of times to visit nearby cities. The hotel's location provides great walkability to many museums, like the Reina Sofia, just around the corner and the Prado, a ten-minute walk down the street with Retiro Park also nearby. There are plenty of restaurants in the immediate area with a variety of foods to choose from.

The room's size was pretty intimate and sparse. The shower was great, but the separation for the bathroom is an opaque glass sliding 'barn style' door that is loose with not much privacy.

The staff are amazing! They can't do enough to help make your stay lovely. We were not expecting much from this hotel being 2 stars but it really was so much better than that. The location is great as its just away from the main road but close enough to get around and a few minutes walk to the station. The rooms were so clean and fresh and I liked the wash unit in the bedroom so that it could be used when partner is in the shower or loo. The rooms 204 and 604 are located overlooking the courtyard which is quieter than rooms onto the street. The breakfast was fab and it was nice that many things were home made and all was very fresh. Different options of milk. Served in a cute roof top bar area with nice background music. Would def recommend this hotel for short stays.

In such a small room, you don't need the round seat/table which just makes it harder to store the luggage and move round the bed. We had a standard double room which was very small but comfortable enough. Nothing really to dislike about this place.
