Lovely hotel located right in front of the beautiful lake of Lucerne. Special atmosphere in particular at sunset - the lake is spectacular. The restaurant is facing the lake view and you can eat outside. The staff is exceptional, extremely kind and caring. I have arrived early in the morning and they did their very best to prepare the room prior the actual check-in time. The hotel is close to a supermarket and a lovely café-bar with bakery and restaurants. It is also close to trekking routes in particular the one along the lake which is absolutely great. The room I stayed was very spacious, comfort and quite with a terrace. Modern look and exceptionally clean. Highly recommended.

A lovely hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, in a beautiful lakeside location. A 16-minute train journey from Luzern and well worth it for the lakeside views and its proximity to Stans. Try to get a room with a balcony and a view of the lake. Breakfast is very good. Its adjacent pizzeria was warm and welcoming with a lovely smell of woodsmoke and the best pizzas I have ever tasted. Good choice of starters and desserts too. Very highly recommended.

Initially apprehensive about Winkelried location outside of Lucerne, we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel's exceptional friendliness, captivating beauty of the lake and the mountain, and convenient access to our desired activities such as the Cabrio and downtown Lucerne, proving our doubts wrong and leaving us grateful for the decision to stay here. It's really a memorable experience in the Stansstad area after taking the boat ride, which is less than 3 minutes from the hotel. Our room was facing the mountain and town view that you seldom see in USA, and I think it's equally nice as the lake view. If given the opportunity, we will come back to Winkelreid in the future.

Excellent location outside the busy city with a beautiful park 5 min walk. Small grocery store right by the hotel and 3-4 restaurants. Really enjoyed getting pizza to go and walking to the park for a picnic and swim. Mt pilatus cog train is 8 min away, and train to Lucerne is 5 min. If you don’t want to be in the city but be able to travel there quickly then this place is ideal.

Very good location with stunning view of the lake and mountains. Very clean and with decent amenities. You can notice that the hotel is on the old side, with fixtures already a bit wore out.

Breakfast was limited, with the same options every morning. For access to the underground car park there is a key which you need to pick and return to reception so if you are going out multiple times it might be a bit of a hassle.

Beautiful views over Lake Lucerne and close proximity to the Stansstad Ferry Terminal. 10 minutes walking distance to Stansstad Railway Station also - so good travel options for day trips to Lucerne and beyond. Stansstad is a quiet town, with a few decent restaurant options. We loved Tons Asian Soulfood Restaurant, opposite the hotel.

Rooms are modern and spacious, but the reception and breakfast area is dated. Breakfast is also limited and not the best quality.

We loved this hotel. The staff were so helpful. We’d forgotten to get francs and they went out if their way to sort it for us. You can park safely over the road for a small charge. The location is stunning. The room service meal we had was delicious. We had two dogs with us so lovely walks nearby . We will definitely stay there again.

Fresh orange juice at breakfast would be nice.

The hotel locates at a nice place, next to the lake surrounded by smaller mountains. we had a very nice room without any particular view. we were happy with the design and comfort of the room. we had great and pleasant first impression already at check-in when we could use our mother thong thanks to the nice Hungarian lady.

there was nothing particular which we didn’t like. The breakfast was a bit solid, but satisfactory.

The staff were wonderful especially the reception and also the lady who served us at the NY Eve dinner (I think she was the head waitress) very professional

One of the staff honked at us as we entered the underground garage. That was surprising as they worked there. They then proceeded to follow us to the garage after we opened it with the hotel key. Very odd.

Everything from the room, to the hotel itself, and surrounding restaurants was beautiful. The staff were attentive and well beyond courteous in their kindness. From help with purchasing boat tickets, to some quick language lessons to better communicate with the locals, everything was great!
