Mike has a lovely place about a ten minute walk from the center of Avebury and the stone circles. I did not have a car, so proximity was important. The first five minutes of the walk is a little uneasy, only because there is no sidewalk and you are on the side of the road with no shoulder; I tried to walk into the grass when a car was passing. But after those minutes there is a foot path and it is fine. The house is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was hearty, if not exceptional. Mike was a very kind host. Since I had no car, he offered to drive me to one of the more distant neolithic sites, so I wouldn't have to walk in both directions. He also apologized for not being able to drive me to the bus stop as I left, because both of the cars were being used.

It was well located to visit the stone circle site, and in a beautiful setting. Plenty of free parking space. My room was a good size and clean, with tea/coffee making facilities. Bed was comfortable. Has a small but adequate ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Friendly staff. Discount for meal at local pub, which was kindly booked by host.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like. My only 'niggles' were that there was no milk in the room to make a drink, but no problem, I fetched from downstairs. The blind on the window was not able to lift more than halfway. Host explained it broke prior to my arrival.

We like to stay at Dorwyn Manor. It's a nice place with even nicer hosts (Mike and Debbie are very friendly and humorous). The place was clean and the beds were really comfortable. Dorwyn Manor is close to the Avebury Stones and the pub in town (but you have to walk along a road where you have to be careful). Breakfast was great with lots of different things. We all liked it.

After our visit to the pub we wanted to sit together in the bar-room. Unfortunately it closes at 9 pm. So we (2 families of 3) sat together in one of our rooms (which was quite a lot of fun then). Our bathroom was really small and quite old - but that shouldn't be a reason not to stay there.

We cycled in torrential rain to Avebury on the King Alfred Way. We were given a warm greeting on arrival and were shown a secure and dry location to put our bikes in for the night. We went to the Red Lion pub for dinner, where the hosts got us a great discount but more importantly they gave us a lift there and back. On a dry evening it would be a pleasant walk! As if that wasn't enough, after 3 days of cycling with dirty kit Debbie washed and dried our stuff! Great service and a perfect place to stay if you are doing a the King Alfred way or looking at the historic standing stones etc. Super breakfast too! Thanks guys, a lovely stay.

We stayed here for one night and had a warm welcome from Mike. He was kind to offer us a lift to and from the pub where he had made dinner reservations for us as it was raining pretty hard. There's a discount for food at the local pub (good food) with your stay. Our room was clean and very comfortable, incl. the beds. There was complimentary tea/coffee and water, and the honesty fridge downstairs came in very handy when we needed some water for the road. There was a nice breakfast buffet incl. fresh fruit (the fresh berries and canned peaches were especially nice), as well as cooked breakfast, which was made to order. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location was lovely: surrounded by tranquility and a ten minute walk into the village.

The bins in our room had no bags/liners in them, so that we were reluctant to throw any rubbish in there that could contaminate them. The fixtures in the bathroom could have used a bit of a wipe-down (hard-water stains?), but were clean overall.

The welcome here was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We were cycling the King Alfred Way and arrived soaked through. They helped us to sort our bikes out, placing them in a secure shed with power. The room was comfortable with a decent shower and a comfortable bed. That evening it was still raining persistently and they took pity on a few of us and ran us to the pub to have a meal. So grateful for that. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Nothing comes to mind.

Dorwyn Manor is a MUST if staying in Avebury. The location is ideal, only a 5 minute walk in to the village The breakfast was delicious, and had lots of options, selection of juices, cereals, yoghurts, full english etc Mike the host was such a gentleman, lovely and chatty and even drove us to a site that we wanted to see. The room was fantastic, lovely comfortable bed and had a great en-suite with power shower. All in all, one of our best stays we have had. Will definitely be back

An absolutely stunning place to stay with parking, only a ten minute walk to see everything so no need to take the car. The breakfast was fantastic and Debbie catered for my gluten intolerance. We were full up and ready for the day ahead! We even had the option of picking a time slot to have breakfast, which for me was brilliant as I cannot eat straight away in the morning. The room had everything we needed, was clean, comfy beds and own bathroom etc.

Honestly nothing, unless they can start to control the weather :) It was a little too warm at night for me but we had fans in the room, so no complaints!!

Fabulous large comfy room with everything we needed.Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was awesome and cooked to order. Location was perfect, 10 min walk to the village and the stone circle. Very happy to learn we had a 25% discount on food ( and drinks served with food) at the Red Lion in the village centre. Loved the stocked honesty fridge with very reasonably priced soft drinks, beer and wine,, and snacks too Internet good and free. We will certainly stay here again .

Absolutely nothing ...it was perfect.

We picked this property, because of its location in Avebury, as we were starting the Ridgeway National Trail the next day, Our room was nice with a queen sized bed and an amazing bathroom, with jets in the bath and a separate stand alone shower. We thought the Fridge and honesty box for Beer, Wine, Water, Coke etc was such a great idea. Also too the spare new walking socks etc that could be purchased. We spent a lovely afternoon discovering Avebury, stones and Manor.
