Good location and free parking and friendly helpful staff . We could walk into town and it was on bus route .bus stopped right outside front door. Room was nice and bed comfortable .quiet with secondary glazing and air conditioning was welcome as it was s hot weekend

Wait for breakfast 20 mins on 1st morning. Initially told it would be 20 to 30 mins wait as there was a big table in . Same second morning even though it was hardly busy . Third morning a bit quicker . Breakfast was good when it came . . Room carpet was badly stained around tea making area and bed .could provide a container for used teabags.

Very comfortable and beautifully decorated room. It was absolutely perfect for our stay, I wish we’d booked an extra night. It was so spacious yet decorated beautifully giving it a cozy vibe. The bathroom was gorgeous, clean and power shower which was amazing. Friendly staff, lovely food and drink options in the pub. Delicious and reasonably priced breakfast too. The room also had a seating area which so nice and very handy. If I had to pick a negative the Wi-Fi was a bit of an issue. After a long day exploring we wanted to chill out with a drink in the room and watch something on tv and it was nice to sit on the arm chairs instead of a bed however no free Wi-Fi for guests, so we couldn’t watch any of the smart TV options that should have been available. Really couldn’t fault the stay and will definitely return.

No free Wi-Fi and couldn’t even connect to a paid Wi-Fi

We had breakfast every morning with coffee and fresh juice. The service was very efficient and the choice on the menu was excellent and whatever we ordered was cooked and presented very well. The 10/15 minutes walk into the city centre was a pleasant walk past the park and under the underpass. Yes the walk back is uphill for part of it but after the first day the legs got used to it and it was fine but for those that are lazy there is a bus stop right outside the pub with buses that run every 10 minutes and go straight to the bus station which is right where all the shops are

The only small thing I could find if pushed is that I found the evening menu quite small and by 8 o'clock 3 of the choices had sold out so it left the menu quite limited

Our standard double room was spacious and nicely appointed including sitting area with comfortable chairs and window view. Nice balcony, too, with chairs and table. Spacious bathroom and shower as well. Full breakfast was great with multiple choices from the menu. Restaurant downstairs from rooms offers nice meals and a variety of beers and wines, with comfortable sitting area for socializing.Staff very friendly and efficient—special credit to the young lady serving breakfast.

Not a knock on the inn, but beware when booking that it’s up a pretty steep hill from the city center, so you’d be wise to take a bus or taxi if you’re arriving with luggage by train or bus. The good news is that the bus runs regularly with a stop in front of the inn, and the inn is comfortably quiet.

Location and room were both spot on. Although about a 15 minute walk to the city and a bit of a climb coming back. My leg muscle certainly had a good work out. Could have got a taxi, but weather dry so a brisk walk home after a meal helps burn calories! Room has been beautifully decorated and spotless! One of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. We were at the front of the Bear so a little noisy with traffic, but then we are early to bed and up quite early. We had a good couple of days Breakfast was superb! Housekeeping too do a great job. Room was well equipped with little extras which were unexpected. Keep it going clearly have a good team keeping standards high.

Nothing really. Staff were very nice especially Hayley who I believe had only just started. She was both welcoming and gave us time.

The Bear Inn was a nice place to stay while visiting Bath. The location was ideal for us as it wasn’t too busy and crazy such as city centre but close to it. We found parking when we arrived. The breakfast included was amazing, the vegan pancakes were the best. The check in process was easy and simple, the staff very relaxed and professional. The room was a good size and everything worked in the room and bathroom.

The mugs were still with old tea from previous guests but it was not a big thing, we would have cleaned them ourselves anyway so just did that. A bit of wetness on the carpet around the door leading to the balcony, I assume it is leaking at times but it didn’t rain after we checked in so it did not cause any problems for us during the rest of the stay but could be for other people in rainy conditions.

This small hotel really is a fabulous place to stay while in Bath. From the minute we arrived to our room and were greeted with the radio playing on low volume, we were relaxed. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was super spacious with a powerful shower and relaxing bath, and a radiator that we could set to what temperature we like. Breakfast downstairs was lovely and great value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed midweek and were woken early in the morning by building works (I think an extension to the hotel) going on the other side of the wall of our bedroom but I don’t think this would affect weekend visitors and is a temporary problem. While it was annoying, it wouldn’t stop me staying again.

We paid for “room with breakfast” and the breakfast was excellent, with plenty of drink options to wash it down. The bar/restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, great staff and lovely decor. We ate at the Bear on both nights, as the food was lovely, especially the Pork Belly bites! The room was clean, beautifully decorated and lovely and warm. We parked in the Bear car park for the duration of our stay and walked into Bath (15 mins) and caught the bus back which drops off right outside the hotel! (it’s uphill on the way back, so catching the bus was really handy)

There wasn’t anything we disliked

The room (superior King room )was lovely and the Hotel was very conveniently placed for the center of Bath. The breakfasts were a real high-light of our stay and were superb and very hearty. The room was very clean and well presented. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. The free car parking was amazing for a property so close to the city center. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (wished we could stay longer in fact ) and would not hesitate to go back again.

Nothing it was all good. The hotel is at the top of a hill but there is a bus service that stops right outside the hotel so not really a problem.
