Everything was good. Breakfast was good. Room was very clean. Honesty bar was a nice touch. Location excellent. Being able to park car right outside our room was very convenient.

The trains running all night at the back of the room. The noise wasn’t a problem as I always wear earplugs but it was the vibration from it that I found annoying. My husband didn’t find it a problem. He slept soundly all night so down to the individual. If a light sleeper I would advise staying in a room in the main building and not in the Stables.

Well we’re do I start…we only stayed for one night but I can confirm 100% my wife and I will be coming back time and time again and possibly with family or friends. The room was outstanding along with everything else, location, breakfast and the staff. The main building was very homely and warming. They operate an honesty bar which is well stocked with all types of goodies. Guys I hope you take advantage of staying at House of Agnes as you will not be disappointed.

This is a beautiful old building dating from the 16th century and has lots of period features and a really eclectic funky layout and decoration. There are also 8 rooms externally which are modern, this is where we stayed. The location is great, very near to the West gate and about 10 minutes walk to the cathedral. There is a railway line running along the back of the external rooms you can here trains running but for me it was not a problem, they don’t run at night but they do start running early at around 6:30am. The curtains in the room also let in a lot of light and it would be good to have blackout curtains. This two items may affect light sleepers. All the staff were great, very helpful and informative and could not be faulted. They have a self service honesty system at the bar which is great and works well. For breakfast you have to order the day before by filling out the form, breakfasts are traditional cooked and cereal etc. Breakfasts were great very tasty and well presented. Water is provided free and you can fill the provided bottles whenever you want at the bar. Car parking is limited but enough spaces are available you should confirm when booking and provide your car Reg No

The location was perfect, about 4-minutes' walk from the train station and similar distance from city centre. The room was a 'stable room', separated by about 30-seconds' walk from main reception building. It was in a row of four stable rooms and had a patio area with table and two chairs for each room. Lovely to sit out in sunny weather. Also had a larger garden and deck chairs and more patio furniture. The breakfast room was in the main reception building, nicely decorated with gold/red wallpaper and all the tables were spaced out well. Breakfast options included continental and cooked, and had an optional 'Daily Special'. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. We both loved it, and would happily stay there again.

There was nothing we didn't like, everything was good.

Esperanza and all the staff here were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The house is situated in a great location to explore the city and surrounding areas. It has a lovely ambiance beyond the property front being situated on a busy road and the train running alongside another side. Breakfast was hearty and delicious - it is offered by order form, giving you a varied selection of both hot and cold choices. We stayed in one of the converted stable rooms and our room was comfortably sized, well appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom separates the room from the train running alongside the stable so it lessens the train noise considerably - each train passing only lasts about 5 seconds, and it doesn't run during the night, so it was noticeable during our stay but not disruptive.

The lighting in the bathroom could be improved. We didn't understand the need for the added car parking charge here given the ample room this property has.

The room was beautiful just what you expect in this style of hotel. The breakfast menu had an excellent range and was lovely. The location was fantastic everything was within a short distance so no having to use the car once we had arrived. We were greeted by Stephen and from that moment he couldn’t do enough for us even insisted carry our luggage to our room showed us around the hotel and gave us a map to show us where everything was. The honesty bar was an unusual experience for us but that one we enjoyed. If you thinking of booking don’t hesitate it’s one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in

Nothing we were very happy with everything

Location is central and close to station; the staff were very welcoming and helpful - I particularly appreciated being shown to my room rather than expected to wander off to find it as in most places these days; I personally found the decor in some of the rooms is a bit eccentric and kitsch for the age of this historic property but everything needed for a comfortable stay was there, and everywhere was very clean. There is a very well stocked honesty bar and plenty of room to sit and relax downstairs and in the beautiful garden. There are also modern rooms in an adjacent building (where I stayed on another night).

The breakfast was very well cooked with a lot of choice - the big draw back for me (and from comments over heard, others) is that you have to order what you want for breakfast by no later than 6pm the night before and specify time you will eat. I find it very difficult to order food so far in advance, with no idea of how hungry I will be. There didn't seem to be much flexibility with this. There is no staff on premises after about 7pm but the building seemed very secure and there was an emergency number.

We really liked House of Agnes; it is such a wonderful place, and the excellent reviews are more than warranted. Access is through a medieval gateway (we could navigate our easily with our small car and could park right next to our room) which is closed at night (you get a key), so the whole property has a nice secluded feel, even though it is a busy main street outside and a railway line just beyond the property line. There is a beautiful garden with lots of seating opportunities. We were in an old stable building (no stairs or even steps to the room), very quiet and well-appointed (the train can be heard now and then). It is just a short walk to the city gate and Canterbury's many sights. We were really sorry that we had to miss the legendary breakfast (next time!), as we had to leave for the ferry early, but the kitchen staff provided coffee to go. We will definitely return!

Nothing, really. Parking was easy, location great, staff was super friendly, no quibbles.

Felt at home from the moment we walked through the door. Staff were excellent, very accommodating, our room was amazing, we stayed in the Paris room. The breakfasts were lovely and the trust bar was just the thing we liked when coming back from our day out. Sitting reading in the beautiful garden after a day of walking around Canterbury was so relaxing. Very pleased we stayed there and would definitely recommend.

To be honest, there really was nothing to dislike about it.
