The location o the hotel was as near perfect as makes no difference and we had a delightful room overlooking the town. The hotel car park only held 13 cars so it was a problem for guest arriving late as the nearest public car park was ten minutes walk away. However, being somewhat disabled, a parking spot was mad available for me in the staff car park.

It is only a minor complaint but we found that housekeeping was perhaps not as sharp as we have experienced in other hotels. Our rooom was made up often quite late into the afternoon and replacement odds and ends sometimes forgotten and other things such as bags of toilet rolls left in room and not removed. Overall, it was good and we liked the F+B staff who were friendly and helpful. THe toilet had clear glass walls within the bathroom.

The hotel is located in the middle of the city and opens right on to the pedestrianised area, but is still easily accessible by car. There are a range of different rooms to choose from, some with views of the city. Our room was large with an extra big bed. The restaurant serves a good selection of food and the bar is small but well stocked, with a good range of cocktails. Breakfast is charged at £18 per person but is unnecessary as there are plenty of nice cafes within walking distance which are much cheaper. The hotel is a premium choice within the city. There are other lodges and guest houses which are cheaper, but if you’re looking for a treat this hotel is well worth it. I’ve stayed at the hotel on a few occasions and would happily do so again.

The bathroom was a little tired, with a towel rail having come loose from the wall. Parking is £18 overnight with no space guaranteed, operating on a first come, first served basis.

The hotel met nearly all our expectations expect breakfast see below. The room was spacious and comfortable and the decor was very good especially the wall with the all the photos. The food in the brasserie was excellent. The staff were professional and looked after all our requests. The hotel is smack in the centre of the High Street and therefore Canterbury, which was great. Would I stay here again, yes definitely!

Everything about the hotel met our expectations except the breakfast which for us was too expensive. We have a simple breakfast of cereals, toast or croissant and do not want meats, cheeses etc. So it was cheaper for us to go to Caffe Nero and for both we had what we wanted for the price of one breakfast at the hotel.

Staff were excellent, as was the breakfast, which was cooked to order. The hotel is in the centre of the city which is very convenient. The hotel is nicely appointed with a very pleasant and welcoming bar area. Comfortable rooms and bed.

We had to park away from the hotel due to its central location and cost £45 but we knew about this in advance. One major problem was that the credit card debit of £150 per room was fine, but after we left, the amount, less our charges, were not refunded but added to plus a further £138 was added. This left our credit card with a debit of over £450!! A number of calls took place before the hotel corrected this 24 hours later! Not a good advert, an unusual issue, but sort it out quicker Abode.

I stayed in a nicely decorated second floor room overlooking Canterbury High Street. The hotel couldn't be more 'central' but effective double-glazing meant hardly any noise from the street was audible. I found the bed to be very comfortable with good quality bedding. The modern bathroom had a powerful shower. Daily housekeeping of my room was impressively thorough. Breakfasts were of excellent quality and all the staff I met were courteous, helpful and efficient. Pre-Covid I stayed fairly often at the Abode Canterbury and am so pleased that it is still as good as it was, in some cases better. I shall return in the Spring next year.

I found the WiFi rather slow during my stay.

friendly and helpful staff on reception. Changed our room on request for a one that was warmer and quieter (not next to the lift). 2nd room was really lovely & big. Great deep bath and very hot water. Bed was really comfy. Nice wooden floors. Clean. Lovely robes & slippers. Felt very luxurious. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Great staff in dining room. Cosy bar area with real fire. Super location in the heart of town but not noisy from the street. Great to have the car park and at £18 for 24 hours it's not pricey compared to elsewhere. Spaces were indeed small and scarce as others have said so we were lucky.

Room took a long long time to warm up with the air con though the weather was incredibly cold outside. Bathroom paint and a few areas look a bit worn and could do with a little redecorating.

I was glad of my quiet room at the back as Canterbury High Street can get a bit rowdy at night. Very welcoming and courteous staff who are knowledgable about the local area. Excellent meals at Brasserie Abode. The aubergine tagine and mini chorizos were particularly wonderful.

Cold whipped cod souffle arrived at the same time as hot sausage ragu on the first night as this is a tapas-style restaurant. This is not ideal so you might want to ask your waiter to structure your meal. There was a long - 30-minute - wait for cooked breakfast on the last day but this is not enough to put one off wanting to return here.

Breakfast was very good. Staff were excellent, friendly and charming. Room was small however was comfortable, even if no "luxury" about it. Bathroom was very small, with one narrow glass shelf over the sink, nowhere to put toiletries for two people, therefore had to put toilet bag on floor - not ideal. Location - excellent. Even though on main street this was pedestrianised so no traffic noise.

Size of bathroom Lack of space for "things" Would choose a better room next time. Couldn't get into hotel carpark (no space) and paid £90 for 3 days parking - ouch! Need to factor in when staying here!

Great location, delicious cocktails and excellent food! The staff were extremely polite, friendly and attentive, as well as being eager to ensure a positive experience. This was the case whether in reception, the cocktail bar or the restaurant.

Our room was very small, considering it was supposed to be a 'superior double' and the bathroom was so tiny that it could only hold one set of towels - the second set was stored in the wardrobe! Also, the room key didn't work and we had to be let in by the receptionist whenever we wanted to get back into the room. However, we were compensated for this, which was appreciated. The hotel seemed a little under-staffed at the time of our visit, which resulted in a bit of a wait at check-in and only 3 of our 5 tapas dishes arriving when we ate in the restaurant.

We came to Canterbury for our daughter’s graduation at the Cathedral so wanted somewhere close to stay, Abode/County Hotel fitted this perfectly. On arrival we were given an upgrade which was absolutely lovely. Thank you, it was much appreciated.

Not a lot really. Oh, we had stayed in Weston-Super-Mare recently in a small hotel. They offered some snack nibbles (similar to those in the room at Anode there) free of charge. That would’ve been a nice touch if yours were also free of charge! We didn’t have breakfast so couldn’t really comment but at £18 per person this speared a little expensive
