The staff were all very friendly and professional and a credit to the Maltsters. Although breakfast was not included in the room rate it was available each morning in the restaurant and the hot options were freshly cooked to order and very competitively priced. I slept well and the bed was very comfortable, with little or no noise externally. The room was well appointed and very clean. The bath had a rain shower over it with fairly instant hot water. I would certainly consider staying here again. Regular buses into Cardiff and some very good restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance.

The only thing that slightly marred the stay given the price of the room was that there was no view out of the windows as the windows had privacy paper over them due to the fact that it was a downstairs room overlooking the kitchen area and there were a couple of small cracks that could do with being filled in and painted over.

Amazing place, great value for money. Very easy to get to and from Cardiff, we used bus to get to Cardiff and taxi back. Staff were very welcoming and engaging. Harry made check in easy and friendly nothing was any trouble the pub was busy but he took the time to explain everything. Chris at breakfast was very welcoming, again nothing was too much trouble. We have food allergies but all staff were knowledgeable and if they weren’t sure on something they checked straight away. It was a very welcoming experience and a lovely change to have warm welcoming staff who are a great asset to the pub. We will definitely stay again. Well done The Malsters.

Good location close to Whitchurch, free WiFi which was was a very good signal even in my room which was right down the corridor, great breakfast and staff were great through out the stay, will stay again if in the area, beats the other hotel I normally use in Whitchurch which has a breakfast in a bag, give me a nice cooked breakfast to start the cold day and day of the week, brilliant stay.

Nothing, very good, was not able to try out the Resturant as I had to meet a work colleague in another part of Cardiff but looked very good choice

Cosy pub, nice big room, great staff. Breakfast was very good! Dinner was good and the Inchs' cider flowed freely. Restaurant was busy, with Christmas parties, and the bar was packed. It all made for a very lively atmosphere. We had a nice big room but the lighting was terrible.

No lighting at all over the wardrobe area, so it was a bit difficult finding all the things I needed for my wedding. This needs sorting out, as does the replacement of the mattresses. The beds were very soft and really uncomfortable.

Gorgeous place! Room was lovely, equipped with everything you would need. Staff were so so friendly and approachable. And informative! Didn’t find myself having to ask any questions. Really welcoming environment and nothing was too much. Breakfast was really nice. Lots of choice for drinks in the pub area. Honestly couldn’t find a bad thing to say about this place. Even let us use the car park for an extra hour after check out as we were waiting to hear back from car dealership before setting off. It’s the little things that really make a big difference at this place. Can’t speak more highly of it, the staff are a credit.

Nothing! Couldn’t fault the place at all.

We are four sisters, and we stayed at The Maltsters whilst visiting relatives in Cardiff. We have stayed here twice in the last 7 months and it was perfect for us. Easy to get to and having its own car park, which is always a bonus. We had our evening meal in the restaurant, with an excellent menu. Breakfast was an optional extra but such good quality and value, why go anywhere else? The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Chris is a superb host, we could not fault it at all and will definitely go back.

Nothing.

The location is good.small fan available

My room was right on the street corner, so cars noises are a bit disturbing. And the music from the pup can be sometimes heard through the walls. Heater is on timer for certain hours only !! and can not override. This made it uncomfortable to me as the heater stopped and the room was cold. Bathroom heater, same thing.. it doesn't make sense. i want the heater on and off, according to my timing, to take a shower, not the pre-set time!!!. No hair dryer.

Nice room with really comfortable beds and big warm quilts. The room a good size so comfortable and the location near enough to where we were going.. Bathroom good size and the shower Ok. Tap on sink was a bit loose and not to easy to use. I was not impressed with the evening meal, puddings good and breakfast which was extra was Ok

As above the evening meal was not so good and not good value for what it was and the background music int he restaurant not to my taste at all

Great sized room with a bath. Comfy bed. We had a really quiet room to the rear of the property. Good parking available. Really lovely pub with great food and relaxed vibe. The staff were awesome and incredibly helpful. Located very close to Llandaff Cathedral which is magnificent. Great coffee place just over the road too.

It was a little way out of town but we still managed to walk into the city via a beautiful park and lovely neighbourhood, so not really a downside I guess 😃

Deluxe room is definetly worth it for a special occasion, there was plenty of space, parking was great, staff were amazing, it was mostly for a bed for the night so can't comment on the bar but walking through I know it would be nice to spend some time which we will again, we will make a point of coming from Scotland to Wales again just to stay here, 100% will recommend. Honestly one of the nicest stays we've had and very reasonably priced and very central for what was needed, close enough to main roads in and out the city too.

Toilet paper could have a couple more ply added as giving yourself a prostate exam unnecessarily isn't good 😆 and no hand soap,(shower gel etc was provided which we used instead to wash hands) other than that it was perfect 👌
