I took my family incl 2 children to see Ed Sheeran in Cardiff and had booked an apartment to stay over to make a weekend of it. On the day we arrived we were contacted by the apartment owner to say the previous occupants had trashed the place and it was unusable. *** Latest news - This turned out to be a SCAM. Do not book STYLISH/MODERN APARTMENT IN CENTRAL CARDIFF. The "owner" Gary has a habit of cancelling the reservation, apologising, saying he will give a full refund, and then KEEPS THE MONEY! The photos are also lifted off a letting agent's website. Total fake *** The prospect of fighting our way through 10,000+ people onto a packed train to go home that night was not an option, so I had no choice. Fortunately Booking.com came up trumps: Park Plaza was in walking distance of the stadium and still had two rooms available. Rooms were very comfortable, very quiet (even with concert-goers in town), staff very polite and helpful, swimming pool for an afternoon dip, jacuzzi, and buffet breakfast was fab ... that was the good part. Ed was awesome! The guy's a genius.

The reason the two rooms were still available was because they were £400 EACH! and we're not talking Penthouse suite either, these were regular double rooms. I accept that had they been cheaper then they would almost certainly have been booked already. However, to find that breakfast was not even included in the vastly inflated room rate was a bit of a slap in the face. Yes I could have declined, but the credit card had already melted... Despite that, we were very grateful for somewhere comfortable to stay, the kids enjoyed themselves, and we had a great weekend in Cardiff.

I stayed here many years ago and it's nice to see it hasn't changed. You get a very warm welcome at reception when checking in and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I booked the night as it was for my partner's birthday and we were upgraded to an executive room and was not disappointed they even put a birthday card in the room from the hotel which was a nice touch. The room was lovely the bed and pillows were so comfy and the bathroom was huge it had a separate shower and bath. The shower was really hot and the bath tub was nice and big. I am so pleased with this room it was light and had a nice sofa and you had plenty of space. Had lovely selection of tea and coffees and a fridge with water in.

I requested a early check in when I booked, 6 weeks in advance,when I phoned on the day to see if it was able for us to check in early it wasn't. That's fair enough I understand when check in is at 3pm. And early check in is not always possible, But then got there at 3pm.. and no room for us then had to wait until 25 past 3.... They normally wouldn't have been a problem however we had a table booked for 4pm which didn't leave us much time to get ready.

Happy with everything we always look for city centre locations room was great loved the smart tv nice touch breakfast was great only one problem you guys could change the orange juice from bits to smooth instead as sometimes the tap would get clogged up will look into booking again in the future one last thing partner was not happy with bed mattress as it would poke as we believe you are using two single mattresses to make it into one big mattress

Mentioned above about orange juice and mattress please consider this in the future other than great hotel friendly staff would recommend to family and friends

The location is very convenient for a city stay, the pool and spa facilities were clean and comfortable to use. The restaurant offered a good choice to suit all.

Unfortunately we did encounter issues with housekeeping entering our room multiple times whilst we were inside. Each time without knocking the door or announcing themselves. They would just tap the key on the lock and barge straight in. One night we decided to try the room service available, we ordered a pepperoni pizza which was very tasty, and a Thai Green Chicken Curry which unfortunately contained no chicken, the issue was raised at the time but no action was taken, this too was a disappointment considering the cost for those two items was £32.

The room was lovely and clean with nice decor and high ceilings. Good air-conditioning. The facilities they provided, including the spa and gym, were of a good standard. Breakfast was tasty, with lots of variety, as well as snacks in the room! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great location, all things easily accessible.

The view from the room could have been better, as was onlooking student accommodation. Massage treatments were overpriced for the quality I received, in comparison to other places I have been to. Could have included complimentary birthday extras during my stay.

The location was very good, right in the centre and close to amenities. Next door to the theatre and just round the corner from the main shopping area and museum. The breakfast was excellent, remarkable choice of both English and continental.

The one sour note was that on the first night in the bar for a quiet drink, a man came in obviously the worse for wear. He was very loud and his language was not acceptable. In addition he sat his young child on the bar. In a hotel of this quality, I would have expected that the staff would have reacted,but nothing was done

The decor is lovely, the room was a good size. It was quiet at night even though it’s in a busy area.

The air con in my room wasn’t working, it also wasn’t working for my 2 colleagues who had the rooms either side of me, so I think it was broken for the whole of the first floor. We told the receptionist who said she had sent maintenance up & it was working, which was a fib. The lady on reception couldn’t have cared less & was very unhelpful & a little rude. None of us slept as it was far too hot. In the morning a gentleman asked how our stay was & we mentioned the broken air con. He was very nice & asked if we had been compensated & what was done to rectify it. We told him not to worry as were checking out anyway, but it’s a shame he wasn’t working the day before as it seems likely that he would have done something about it.

The location of the property is at the heart of the city but still it’s very calm and quiet. The facilities are well maintained and swimming pool is perfection. The room was very spacious, clean and perfect for couples. The amenities provided in the room and top notch and all the products are very high end. The staff was quick to answer any questions extremely helpful and looked happy to serve. The check in and check out was very smooth so overall a very pleasant experience.

The only thing that upset me was that I had ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy as I check in but it was not delivered on time. I received it late at night which kind off killed my plan as it was gift to my wife for her bday.

Room very clean and large, with even a safe box to keep your things in. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were also very nice, and they opened early in the morning to let you enjoy a swim before going into the city. 24 hour room service was also amazing, calling them at any time if you needed anything and they would promptly bring it to you; whether it was a spare HDMI cable, a bath robe or even complimentary bottles of water.

Prices of the food in room service were quite expensive for the portions you get. Also, the breakfast was not nice at all - I could not even finish it and had to buy breakfast elsewhere. I had also paid for later checkout by 2 hours, however they blocked my keycard at the normal checkout time so I was locked out of my room in my swimsuit.
