Excellent location for the lovely restaurants and bars that we enjoy visiting. One of the best being Asador 44 which is next door and belongs to the hotel. Staff were fabulous. Continental breakfast is just what I like and there are more substantial cooked breakfast options available. It’s a very small boutique hotel with around 8 rooms I believe. The communal lounge has a very substantial honestly bar. I found the accommodation to be exceptionally clean.

I didn’t enjoy the trek down to the lounge to make my early morning coffee. I would have preferred to make it in my room. However I do understand why it’s planned like this.

Room – Solera (they have names rather than numbers) I like this place. It’s not really what I’d call a hotel, it’s more like a restaurant with serviced rooms to let above it; the rooms are very nice. Mine was clean and well appointed. Not generously sized but big enough. The bathroom was excellent with a great shower and nice big towels, not the smaller (sometimes thin) ones you get in some places. From what I saw of it, the whole building is reasonably newly fitted out; quite stylie in a Spanish theme that’s not as naff as it sounds. The location is brilliant although I can imagine it could get noisy on the street at weekends. Being fundamentally a restaurant the food is extremely good. Staff are very helpful and nice.

Only appreciable fault was the lack of a room safe.

We enjoyed the experience of staying at Parador 44 in Cardiff. Easy walking distance from the train station and close to Cardiff Castle, Bute Park and the shopping and restaurant district. The room was modern, spacious and comfortable. We noticed a drip of water near one of the water heaters and they moved us to another room at no inconvenience to us. There was a guest lounge that was well provisioned with just about everything including espresso, teas, wine and snacks. There was also an outdoor patio which was a bonus. The continental breakfast was laid out at the bar and we also ordered scrambled eggs and smoked salmon which one of the best we've ever had. The staff was great and helped us with our luggage.

There were a few sets of stairs to navigate but once we got used to the layout it wasn't a problem. Very clever use of space!

Parador 44 has excellent staff who are very amiable and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and the common area lounge is a really nice place. The coffee machine which is supposed to provide free coffee there did not work half the time that I was there and didn't have any milk available to make mixed drinks for the rest of the time, which was a little inconvenient since there is no coffee in the room itself. The breakfast is light but delicious and you can add a heavier meal for a modest amount. I very much appreciated the staff helping me get a package at the hotel and also assisting with from printing that I needed to get done.

I had not read the fine print that this hotel doesn't have an elevator. The staff were kind enough to bring my suitcase up to my room, but I brought it down myself (I'm sure they would have assisted if I had asked). A minor inconvenience for me but could be major for someone with mobility issues.

I love the layout of the hotel the lounge is great love the honesty book thing great selection of things to choose from

This is the second time I stayed here was slightly annoyed that you have to pay for hot breakfast menu now , it’s only £5 but they should just charge extra for the room it just seems like a extra when it should be included I mean it’s more that worth the £5 it just doesn’t sit with me I afraid saying that I would definitely stay again

David's wife Ruth is writing this review as I booked our stay. Good location within walking distance of train station. Honesty Bar and outside seating very much appreciated. A breath of fresh air to be trusted! Shower perfect. Staff second to none. I suffer from claustrophobia and the room first allocated was around too many twists and turns, around corners, up and down stairs with no windows anywhere. I asked for a room close to the exit which was immediately sorted with no fuss whatsoever by a very understanding young lady. Greatly appreciated by me.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike

Staff super nice. Gorgeous facilities. The room was super clean and pretty. Breakfast good. Great location in terms of being close to everything you'd want to do in Cardiff.

Unfortunately, the great location also means it's really hard to sleep at night. I had a room on the third floor but facing the street, and even though it was a Monday night, there was still noise on the street most of the night and early morning. If it was a weekend, forget it, there would be no sleep from the partiers outside. I should have thought to ask to have a room on the other side of the building, but I don't know if it would have been better. This is the only reason I would consider not staying here again as the rest was great.

We loved everything!! The decor was quirky and rustic, yet chic, Spanish style as we had expected. Dressing gowns and slippers were provided which we didn't expect. There was a beautiful lounge/kitchen with a coffee machine and a selection of Spanish snacks if required. Also drinks were available. These were all extras, however it was good to have the option of these things. A stunning, outdoor patio area was also a lovely surprise. Buffet breakfast, Spanish with a Welsh twist. All the staff were very friendly.

All lovely.

Beautiful hotel, with lovely attention to detail. Very friendly staff, exceptional breakfast. Lovely large and comfortable bed. Practical location for exploring the city of Cardiff.

Nothing the hotel can control, however we stayed on a Saturday night and the noise from bars etc outside our room was very loud until the early hours of the morning. The hotel helpfully provided ear plugs which were much needed. However if you’re planning to be out in the evening yourselves whilst staying here then it is a perfect location.
