Great central location. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was a good size and the provision of bathrobes was useful. Restaurant was convenient and the food was good. Breakfast was self service but a good range of food available.

Disappointed that there was no muesli at breakfast, only sweet cereals in individual boxes. Food from the hot buffet was not always very hot. Lapsed maintenance in the bathroom- small things which should have been fixed without us having to point them out. Heating/air conditioning wasn’t very responsive.

The location is ideal when visiting Cardiff, right in the centre within easy walking of the railway station and all the centres attractions, pubs & restaurants The rooms are spacious and clean, the walk in shower is amazing with plenty of hot water and toiletries. With its roof top bar and restaurant it offers a chance to stay in if you desire to. The staff are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. You get the chance to start your day with an amazing breakfast that fuels you for the whole day, all in all, I would gladly return to the Indigo in the future.

There were just a couple of niggly things, the bed, while big and comfy was “noisy” the springs made a noise if the other person moved around a lot or got out of bed, the sink in the bathroom drained very slowly and the built in plug wouldn’t stay up.

Every time we visit this hotel, it's always lovely. The smell of the hotel is fab. Instantly smell as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are all so friendly and helpful.

The breakfast has changed since our last visit. Which threw me off. It was definitely better when it was table service instead of a self help buffet. I also tried to order room service about 8.50, called 2176 they said we can't order until 10pm when the night staff start. I then called reception to try and order through them as it states room service is available. Then then transferred me back to the other line to then be told to call reception back at 10pm.

Hotel Indigo is a lovely quirky boutique hotel in the centre of Cardiff, with excellent staff, a nice restaurant serving a top quality breakfast with ample choices and bathrooms that contain the best showers I have seen for a very long time. I have spent over 50 years in the travel industry, including some time as a hotel assessor and the Indigo ticks all of the boxes except one.

Our first room contained a bed with one of the softest and most uncomfortable mattresses I have ever experienced. I appreciate that it is a matter of individual preference, but having a good quality, very supportive mattress at home made me realise just how uncomfortable it was. We seriously considered changing hotels for our 2nd night in Cardiff but decided to ask Reception whether they could change our room. It was a Sunday night in January, so I knew that it shouldn't be a problem. They came up trumps. Without any fuss at all, they allocated a different room with a much firmer mattress and we got a good night's sleep to go along with the superb shower and brilliant breakfast.

Our one night stay started with a fabulous welcome at reception. The young man at the desk was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Every member of staff was so helpful and friendly - they were truly exceptional. The room was well equipped, comfortable and had a very well appointed bathroom. Both bedroom and bathroom were decorated well. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and had not been sat around for long. The chefs kept on checking and replenishing the items being offered and there were also some choices such as poached eggs or pancakes which were cooked to order. The dining area was also comfortable, nicely decorated and the tables were well spaced. The dining room is at the top of the building and also has a roof terrace overlooking the city which would be great at certain times of the year.

Apart from the tiniest of touch ups to paintwork it is very hard to find fault with this hotel.

The location was perfect, the hotel felt very personal and individual, the rooms were fantastic, loved the quirkiness! When we checked out we’d actually left our house/car keys in the safe and didn’t realise until we were at the airport! I phoned the hotel and spoke to Callum who is nothing short of a miracle worker, I was in a real panic as we only had just over an hour until our flight, he was so calm, listened to what had happened, came up with a plan - he gave me a trusted taxi firm number - Veezu who were also amazing and extremely helpful, I arranged for them to pick up the keys and bring them to the airport. Once the driver had collected the keys Callum called me to let me know they were on the way! I cannot thank him enough for his support and care - the keys arrived about 20 minutes before our gate closed. 5* service - thank you so much.

The location of this hotel is perfect for the city centre and we were on a Christmas shopping trip so worked wonderfully. The room was a good size, spotlessly clean and the blackout curtains meant it was really dark all night. There was no noise or disturbances. Breakfast was good, although a few things did run out but were quickly replenished when asked. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and on duty 24 hours. The NCP car park is a little walk away and we had issues with paying as the machine wasn't working, neither was the lift, but that is not the hotel's problem.

As above, issues with the NCP car park and we did find the room too warm but you could not control the temperature. Even when we turned the heating off at the wall thermostat it was still too warm!

Beautifully decorated room and bathroom. I liked the style of old and modern industrial. It was very clean. Good size room for one/two people. Plenty of storage. It had everything I needed, bathrobes and even Earl Grey teabags. Bright bathroom, loads of places for toiletries. I also had breakfast and it was excellent. Great selection of usual breakfast and continental food, nice comfortable atmosphere.

I found the mattress too soft for my liking, so it was difficult to sleep. I mentioned this to the reception staff who suggested to request firmer mattress which I will do next time.

This is a great hotel. Location is impeccable to explore central Cardiff, literally just 5 minutes away from the beautiful castle. I can definitely recommend it if you've never been to Cardiff, especially as I found the price was very fair for what you get. My room was super pleasant in layout, lighting and decoration. Desk was solid for doing work and taking calls (thanks to the good WiFi). The bed was super comfy. Staff at reception were very kind and welcoming, both at check-in and check-out. They offered me complementary items from the fridge and late checkout as a courtesy, which I loved.

The only bad thing I can think of is that the coffee mugs were dirty (as in, used) on check-in. A bit of an oversight by the cleaning staff, but next day after room cleaning they were perfectly clean!

Very cosy, comfortable room. Staff made me feel super welcome when I arrived. I was also able to check in early, and the person at reception was considerate and offered a room on a higher floor. She even asked if I was okay with what side of the hotel the room was on. Amenities in the room were fabulous, and I enjoyed using the toiletries in the bathroom. Room service was quick and efficient when ordered. Also appreciated that there was a fridge with complimentary still and sparkling water, and a wide selection of tea. Location was also brilliant and near everything you need.

Could be a little more choice at breakfast. One of the ceiling lights wasn't working in my room but it didn't cause an issue really, so I didn't raise it. Bed was comfortable but slightly creaky.
