All superb,from Room,Showers to Breakfast,Quality of and spread.Hosts not intrusive and on hand to help any queries.Superb guest care and attention.Location spot on for all major facilities esp Transport links.

Parking an issue and expensive but this is to be expected due to the Location.Maybe have 3-5 first come first serve parking allocated to guests on discount rates or reflected in booking price? Step from landing to shower areas bit too high and both of us got caught out coming out shower area.Did mention to to host and poss have a ramp or small step to assist this poss hazard,esp for guests of senior years.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and they provided an excellent breakfast. The hotel staff were very polite. It was on an excellent location, close to the city centre

We booked a twin room and our invoice said twin room but it was one bunkbed in a tiny, cupboard size room with a wall mounted TV. It had 4 coat hooks to hang all clothes. The room did not have a wardrobe or clothes rail, table, chair, chest or drawers. It’s misrepresentation, The invoice should state one bunk bed in exceptionally small cupboard size room. We would not have booked this room if we had known it was a bunk bed.

Really convenient for the station and the venue for the conference I attended (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama). Cardiff Arms Park is just across the river Taff. Also close to the city centre for evening meals etc. no shortage of options. 10 to 15 minute walk for any of the aforementioned. No reception with a straightforward self service access on arrival (and subsequently). In the morning breakfast baked items presented in a named paper bag with additional breakfast items available in the kitchen - no shortage of food. Good fresh coffee machine. Self catering for other meals in the well equipped kitchen possible. Everything was clean and tidy. I did see staff occasionally but, they are very discreet and essentially you are left to look after yourself - this is not meant as a negative comment. Staff will help without hesitation if needed. Although not en suite, the toilet and shower facilities were very clean and plentiful and I had no problem accessing either whenever I wanted to. For me as a single guest my room was very spacious but, it could accommodate a small family if they were not looking for more than somewhere to store luggage and sleep, indeed there were other guests fitting that description. I didn't need to use the other facilities other than for breakfast but there is a very pleasant outside area and a room attached to the kitchen to eat in. The Riverhouse is a really well run guest house for those happy to self cater and not needing bells and whistles. I will definitely use again if I return to Cardiff.

Nothing really. Everything was clean and tidy and met my needs. Perhaps the option of a brighter main light in my room.

I liked the non-intrusiveness of the property. It had a hostel quiet community vibe, as well as access to full self-catering if needed. My Autistic brother loved the variety of subscription entertainment available on the room's TV, and the USB plug sockets. And the City centre is only a short walk away. I liked the under-floor heating in the shower rooms, and the cleanliness - plus it's one of the few hotel beds that didn't give me back pain. The breakfast was the usual variety, so I brought along cereal that my brother would eat, but I get the feeling that this would have been catered for if I raised the issue; especially as when I had trouble getting the car to start on our check-out day, they had no issue letting my brother remain in the room as long as necessary.

The only downsides were things completely out of the Riverhouse's control: parking, and loud pedestrians. I had trouble getting a free paid parking space so had to park in the numerous resident permit spaces until I could move the car. Then Friday night revellers returning home at 5am woke us. I only mention these as minor blips in our overall stay, as they're not a blot on the Riverhouse itself.

The rooms were large, beds were comfy. The service was fantastic, the staff were friendly and there was breakfast available every morning. It’s opposite the stadium and only a 2 minute walk away from the city centre. I stayed with my mum and sister, the place is very nice and there were other family’s there too. Bathrooms were spacious and clean, you don’t run into anyone as there is bathrooms on all levels, I think there might even be more bathrooms than room.

There isn’t designated parking which is understandable because it’s the city however I believe you can park outside hostel for max 2 hours while your getting settled in. There is parking on the road opposite but not always spaces. We parked at the station car park, which was close by, safe and affordable.

Very nice owners and staff and perfect location! Being less than 10 minutes walk to the central station (and city center) but still in a quieter area makes The Riverhouse a perfect starting point to explore Cardiff and surroundings with public transport. The hostel is very clean and everything is in a very good state. Breakfast is good value for 4 GBP. Check in and out is completely contactless and there is no reception but it was no problem, everything was working fine and is well explained before arrival.

I was a bit surprised to find a bunk bed in my Double or Twin room since it was not mentioned in the description and the photos on booking.com are a mixture of all room types offered. But it was no problem since the beds were comfortable. The staircase is quite steep and narrow - no problem for me but should be taken into account by people who have difficulties walking stairs.

The hostel is super close to the town centre and train station, but is in a super quiet location. The place was exceptionally clean and even though the bathrooms are shared, there was always one available and they were never dirty. The owners were super friendly and welcoming, the housekeeping staff were so kind and polite and the key fob system works really well in my opinion. The kitchen was also spotless and had everything needed for cooking dinner. The TV and all the streaming services was an unexpected bonus and the Wifi was fast!

Exceptionally clean,kitchen and bathrooms were great dont let the shared bathrooms put you off as they are enclosed personal cubicles and very clean and spacious.Comfy beds and great location for the principality Stadium which we were going to for a concert. Also very close to the city centre!! Owners are very responsive to messages and do their best to help if anything is wrong or if you just want to ask questions 😁

The stairs!! We were on the 3rd floor although there was double the amount of stairs you would think of for 3 floors up.....steep and narrow, especially if you're carrying heavy suitcases! Also we were in the roof space room with only 2 small velux windows in and it was extremely hot in there more so when we had to close them because of the rain,owners very helpful though and got us an extra fan for the next night.

Exceptionally clean, very well located B and B, basic in terms of comfort but that is the point as you are getting excellent value for your money. Very well organized, good communication with hosts. Lovely little patio at the back, and a short walk to all there is to do and see in Cardiff.

A little impersonal in terms of welcome, but this is the new style of B and B; codes to come and go, breakfast in a paper bag and lock boxes give you tremendous autonomy, but not a lot of warmth.

Great to have access to a kitchen (no laundry though), well fitted out with everything needed. They also mop the floors several times a day which is amazing. Homey! Doesn't feel like a hotel. The shared bathrooms are fab. Individual lockable bathrooms with shower, sink and loo not a communal or cubicle vibe. Also kept very clean.

Slightly impersonal as I never met my hosts. But this is a very minor problem, fellow guests and staff as well as great welcoming instructions meant I was all sorted
