A period charming warm property. I understand it’s a family business. From arrival to departure all the girls were attentive helpful approachable and professional. You can talk directly to the staff in the telephone as if they’ve known you for years. A refreshing change from the autonomous corporate world that has unfortunately swallowed up many hotels like this one. It’s a gem of a time sadly gone by. If you like a traditional English welcoming hotel this is it. If you like a more autonomous robotic blank faced experience where you are just a number and credit card this hotel is not for you. Use these independent family hotels or lose them to the greed of investors that don’t give a second thought to you.

What’s not to like??

Lovely family hotel. Very cozy and comfortable with well appointed rooms and friendly staff. A great choice at breakfast, all served to you at your table. Very clean, comfortable beds, good shower and plenty of parking. The hotel is very convenient for the NEC, just a short 10 minute drive away without having to use the motorway. We would happily stay here again.

The only downside for us was that our room was at the front of the hotel facing the road. We visited when the weather was very hot and the noise from the road was too intrusive to have the windows open at night. That said, it was extremely quiet with the windows closed but that meant the room got very hot.

The main thing is the staff were beyond nice. Everyone I met there, at the reception desk, in the hallways, in the restaurant - all of them were so so lovely and checked in with me whenever they saw me. Really sweet and I would stay there again for their kindness alone. I went for a work trip so I just booked the basics so I wasn't blown away by anything, but I was not expecting to be either. I will say that the food was lovely as well, everything was fresh and delicious and they accommodated all requests! I tend to be a bit of a food snob but I had zero complaints, I was impressed.

The room decor was a little dark for the space, I had a single room so it felt small with the black sheets and purple walls but this is purely a personal preference. The walls were a little thin, I could hear next door's TV but earplugs fixed that for me. I will say the bed wasn't the comfiest but it was grand! I still slept well enough.

Ive stayed at Grimscote before and it is a lovely hotel. This time we stayed in the Brockington suite and it was a beautiful room with a fab bathroom.

Sorry but thought the service was very poor when we booked an evening meal, came down for a drink at 7.15, showed us the menu and we picked our food, but didnt really sit down until after 8.30, which we found was bit late. I know it was very busy and the young staff did apologise but did think we were waiting a bit too long. Breakfast too which was very nice was a bit slow.

The staff are a delight with excellent care. The room overlooking the garden with so many beautiful oaks. The ambience of the hotel is calm and restful. Love all the interior design ideas.

Two small issues but not overly concerned about. Opening the window of our superior room above the kitchen vent so cooking smells wafted in but not too unpleasant. The shower needs to run the water to heat up, which is a shame when you are conscious of saving water. However location and property age could be the issue.

Team are outstanding, everything at Grimscote is far and away above what you could even reasonably expect from any big chain hotel. Absolutely spotless throughout the property, all public areas are fantastic, room was reallyspacious, light, supremely comfortable, beautifully appointed, bathroom is fantastic and even the towels are huge and plentiful. But not only that, every breakfast is perfect. Doesn't matter what you chose, its cooked, prepared, presented and delivered beautifully. Coffee is freshly made and of very high quality, breakfast tea is fabulous too. The only hotel I have ever stayed in within the UK that feels like you're at home. You are made to feel actually valued and genuinely welcome. This is the real USP for any property and so many miss the mark by a country mile. Not here, the team get it right every time. It doesn't matter when you visit, or for whatever reason you stay, it just feels 'right'. Thank you Grimscote Manor, you are simply amazing.

Lovely entrance and driveway, beautifully appointed inside and nice and warm. Staff are incredibly attentive, conscientious and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent food in the evening and the following morning. Suite was fantastic and for a change, it was lovely to book into a hotel with a room with a supremely comfortable mattress.

These are not criticisms, merely (hopefully helpful) observations but, the entrance needs to be signposted further up the road as we sailed past on our first lap of Coleshill. Also, could do with a big(ger) more visible sign on the far wall of the lower car park to inform first time guests there is ample parking in the upper car park.

The hotel has a lovely family feel to it, due to the friendly staff and the characterful house. We had a three course meal which was delicious. The staff were attentive and we weren't rushed into finishing our food. The whole house is beautifully decorated and it's a pleasure to be in each room.

We sat in the breakfast room for dinner because there was a function which had overrun in the dining room. It was still lovely and not a problem.

The breakfast was perfect,and the tea was served in Bone China 🙂 Although it was a little bit smaller than I would normally eat at home or elsewhere ( I have a large appetite),I couldn't fault it at all.

I can't fault it,one of the best hotels that I've stayed in. Cleanliness was to a very high standard the staff are very switched on,the room was well presented and comfortable. I intend to stay there again next time I'm travelling that way..

I've stayed here many times before. The service and friendliness of staff is always impressive. I had a particular problem on this occasion due to a car breakdown forcing me to cancel one night's booking at very short notice, and I am most grateful for the sympathetic and generous position taken in respect of the matter.

One minor problem in respect of the shower, which was a little difficult to adjust to maintain a constant temperature.
