Value. We were returning to Edinburgh for one quick night before our flight back to the US. The airport and Royal Mile hotels were over $500! I'm not sure what was going on this weekend but this was an unpleasant surprise. This hotel is 18 miles away from the airport but it came up for EDI airport hotels. Truly, the taxi fare both ways was a drop in the bucket compared to spending $500 for less than 12 hours in the hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful - they let us know the kitchen would be closing in 30 minutes if we wanted to order dinner, which was a lifesaver. They also ordered the cab for us, which was appreciated.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They really lift the mood of the place. The breakfast bacon is good, along with the cleanliness of the rooms, which are simple but have useful facilities. I stayed for 7 days and it did not get old. There is a bar downstairs which is friendly and open - £5 a pint. And, the huge Asda superstore over the road is great for stocking up on extras. About a 15 minute walk to the station with trains to Edinburgh every 30 minutes. I will be back.

The coffee machine was a bit hit and miss - Some good cups and some bad ones.

Easy to find with plenty of parking, simple booking-in process, tidy clean room with good facilities, supermarket across the road and a restaurant 5 mins walk away. Dunfermline city centre is an excellent place to have a wander around with a lovely park and some very historic buildings and streets. A great place to stay whilst attending motorcycle racing at the nearby Knockhill Race Circuit.

Inconsiderate people in the corridor outside our room talking and banging doors at 3am, but that's not the fault of the Holiday Inn!

The Holiday inn Express was really lovely and we met lots of staff who were very lovely too! The breakfast had so much to choose from I was spinning around trying to choose between a cooked breakfast or yogurt n fruit, cereal, croissants and cake, toast, rolls, and fresh fruit....o.k...over 2 days, I tried most of it! The cleanest of rooms and hotel made it a great break...oh, and the evening menu was full of choice, but, the macaroni cheese, garlic bread and chips were delicious and a reasonable price when your tired and do not want to traipse around looking for a restaurant! As you can tell, we enjoyed our stay!

Ok, hate to say it, but we're old and need a lot of light , but as we're all trying to save energy we cannot blame the hotel...it was a bit dark for us oldies!

Comfortable. Good breakfast. Friendly helpful staff - just felt like you already knew them & they’re helping a friend. I like this type of hotel because they are very practical & functional. Good location for what I needed. I’m not sure about the value for money but everything seems so expensive these days. Cheaper than Edinburgh thank goodness - we choose to stay in Dunfermline now when visiting Edinburgh. Good parking & free.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and always greeted you in the morning, they were full of knowledge In regards to sights and attractions that you can go and see. The room itself was large and included everything you need e.g. hairdryer, iron, mirror, ironing board etc. Everything in this hotel was fabulous.

Here for a few days. All went well. Daily maid service was nice. Plenty of choices at breakfast. The staff kept the buffet well stocked.

Had I known better, I’d have contacted the property prior to booking to arrange a room on the hotel’s quiet side. The property sits next to a busy road. With no air-conditioning, the window needs be open for cooling, but also in comes the noise.

The room was a disability access one which we requested for my husband. There was plenty of space for him to move around safely & the bathroom was excellent with plenty of room to assist with showering. The bed was comfy too. This will now be our midway stop on our trips to visit family in England.

The red assistance cord was on the side of the bed with the narrowest space next to it. It was fine for us but may have been an issue for a loan traveller.

Breakfast was good. Staff super helpful. Our flight delayed for 1 day and we needed to extend for 1 more day of stay and thank you Charlie (manager) for getting the same room for us so we do not have to go out to search for another hotel! Surprisingly some local interesting places, like Carnegie birthplace house (Carnegie Hall, NYC named after him) and near by Abby and Park, which we will visit.

The room was very good and the room facilities were also good.

I am afraid that the breakfast was very much a 1star breakfast, I had a cappuccino and it was revolting, I could not finish it, the cereal was very cheap and not pleasant to eat, the scrambled egg was powdered egg. I feel they are cutting corners and the food is what is suffering. We along with other guests decided to eat elsewhere.
