Our room was terrific. Great space, good quality bathroom products and a comfortable bed. The breakfast selection was excellent with every option covered and the teams on duty were a pleasure. The location was fantastic and we could walk to everywhere. Shopping , restaurants etc were all within easy reach and the beautiful park opposite was lovely for an early walk

Wardrobe hanging space. It felt as if too much space had been allocated to shelved areas that a set of drawers under the TV could have solved for that type of clothing. We then had little to no space in a one unit layout to hang our clothes so that my husband had to have trousers etc hung over chair backs. It was impossible to hang clothing and jackets etc in a small space , already compromised by ironing facilities, a trouser press, a fan etc. It was good to have those facilities in the room, an iron is especially welcome, but the wardrobe space is very badly configured and poor supply of hangers. This was a shame to feel so frustrated by this, considering how terrific everything else was.

It was in an excellent location and the building and rooms had space and period charm. There was a warm and attractive atmosphere - especially in The Bistro. Breakfast was excellent. The Staff were pleasant and professional.

We had to pay an exorbitant premium to stay on a Saturday night in December which made 'value for money' very questionable. If that was the standard rate, I would say that it was definitely not worth it. Luckily, during normal times, the price seems reasonable. I have to admit would not stay again at the price I had to pay.

Location, comfort, breakfast, resources like tea station, a range of products if needed and friendly staff

As mentioned to the staff when leaving as a solo visitor I felt slightly uneasy with being located outside the hotel… not only was the room dark and stuffy but being alone and on the street rather than in the hotel it made me feel slightly uncomfortable and checking in late after a wedding it was very late to make a move or address with staff.. something to consider for solo female visitors. Also the rooms outside are quite noisy with people walking by and people walking above early morning. But it was a nice room

Very special, always drove passed this place and thought I’d love to stay there so we did. The staff at reception were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, they provided us with some great recommendations to make our stay even better. The room was outstanding, spacious, beautifully decorated, comfy bed, and best bathroom I’ve ever had in a hotel. Hotel is in a fantastic location to explore Harrogate and we had the opportunity to share a lovely bottle of wine in the bar at the end of the day exploring and shopping. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Nothing, we just ‘LOVED’ it and will definitely be back.

Second visit to this hotel. This time stayed in one of the basement rooms. Lovely bathroom, room very clean, although as a basement room would imagine it could be very stuffy in hot weather, however noted portable fan in wardrobe. Facilities good, breakfast whilst rather expensive, was good. Staff very friendly.

Had difficulty with the in-room safe, failed to open, reported fault but unfortunately after more than an hour had to ask they leave it until the following morning as we had a table booked at a local resteraunt. As there was a wedding reception at the hotel, we appreciated that staff were busy. Also, found the overnight charges for parking at the hotel rather expensive.

An ideal location and very pleasant interiors. The hotel did seem to be struggling with staff issues but all staff we encountered were very helpful and courteous and resolved any minor issues promptly.

It was suggested that if we opted not to have our rooms serviced, then we could have a free drink or make a charitable donation. I found this very odd. We all opted to have room service and indeed, that is part of the pleasure of staying in a hotel. That a hotel of this standard should be making suggestions, as above, does it no favours; we realise that there may be staffing issues but that is not the customer's concern. If you take a booking - then a customer can reasonably expect to have rooms serviced and to offer something instead cheapened the experience.

The room was lovely and spacious, offering both comfort and an inviting atmosphere. The beautiful decor and soft furnishings were thoughtfully chosen to complement the heritage of the building and the charm of the Harrogate area, enhancing the overall experience.

However, the breakfast was somewhat underwhelming, with a rather simple selection that didn't quite meet the expectations for a 4-star hotel. It would be great to see a wider variety of options that better reflect the hotel’s star rating.

The room was large and the beds comfortable. However, some of the fittings were beginning to look a bit tired and the room could do with updating in the near future. Nice toiletries, towels and bedding, although the duvets were very hot! The bar was relaxing, although the restaurant staff gave the impression that they were not very engaged with their work and would rather be somewhere else (which in fairness they probably did).

The room was not air conditioned and the window was an old fashioned sash which kept sliding shut with a bang in the middle of the night. Parking is expensive at £15 a night, although this is probably the going rate in Harrogate.

The location is perfect. The room was large and well equipped, the breakfast menu is very good and the kitchen ably addressed an allergy need.

For health and safety reasons the hotel should consider installing safety hand bars in the shower to avoid any possible accidents. Even with a bath mat there is a risk of slipping, especially on the access steps. It would not be an expensive action and would address the safety of guests. For a hotel of its standard it is surprising that this hasn't been thought necessary.

Lovely hotel, Great location ,great choice for breakfast, friendly staff

We have stayed here before and have always booked a Deluxe Double room which have been lovely and overlooking the front of the hotel. We booked the same again this time but were in a room at the back of the hotel with some air conditioning/ heating unit running most of the night and our view was a fence panel about 2 foot from the window and we had to stand next to window and look up to see any daylight. Disappointing!
