Everything. The location. The staff. The clean beddings. The shower. The real windows were open. It was 32° Celsius daytime. The private bedroom only for two. The shops and restaurants. The lock, the river. The morning with the fog and horses.

My boyfriend wanted to eat a full-English-breakfast at 6 a.m. but we didn't ask for it. We found a nice shop with cheese and onion pastry and he put it into microwave at 5:30. The kitchen was huge and fantastic. Breakfast at 6 a.m. is not a hostel level.

The hostel is huge and imposing amongst the millionaire houses of Streatley-on-Thames. 50yrds from a very nice pub with nice food. Reception was very good and the manager, Nick, very welcoming and helpful. It was February and I was given a six bed dorm to myself. Clean, quiet, warm. The bunk, with bedding provided, was comfortable and quiet. The room has a sink and mirror and chair. The showers and toilets are basic, but, clean, warm and work perfectly well. There is a lounge, self catering kitchen, ‘restaurant’ and garden. I hired a towel for a good price. The breakfast was very good. The hostel is 100yrds from the Thames and on the Ridgeway that I was walking. Excellent value; in February.

Amazing location

I paid extra for full vegetarian breakfast option But it was only one plate with a little bit of vegan scrambled egg which is not needed because I do eat regular egg and one vegetarian sausage and very small portion of baked beans in sauce I notified the staff and I do not blame them for it but they said the supply for vegetarian was not much they didn’t have more, I was not satisfied for the extra price I paid

Location was really handy. Was doing an ultramarathon from Goring village hall which was a few mins walk away. Staff at the YHA allowed us to use the showers after the race which was very kind and welcome.

I'm over 6 foot and unfortunately I never find YHA beds that comfortable.

The YHA was really friendly, and clearly designed to foster a sense of communal use/sharing - whilst also providing plenty of space and privacy. Perfect location for anyone walking the Thames Path or the Ridgeway, or just looking for a comfortable place to explore the stretch of river at Goring and Streatley.

Great location, very quiet. Well equipped kitchen. Friendly helpful staff.

One of the showers was not functioning properly - cold only. I reported this and was told it would be looked at promptly. Other shower lovely and warm!

Convenient location with 2 minutes of the river thames and 5 mins from goring village, i stayed one night before a running event and everything was great, super friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Would stay again :)

A wonderful location. Easy to reach town, a good car park, easy to reach the walking tracks in the hills, very nice surroundings, interesting towns Streetly and Goring, friendly staff, a wonderful old house for this hostel, must be continued.

To short of a stay for us.

Welcome was very good, helpful information. Breakfast was also very good, with a great selection and plenty of it. Room was larger than expected, and beds were clean and comfortable.

Toilets and bathrooms were a little sparse, but certainly sufficient.

The staff were friendly and the beds were very comfy. Over all the stay was very good value for money and I would stay again.

There were a lot of cobwebs in the room, down the side of the bed, and the shared bathroom facilities had a lot of spiders and webs too.
