The pub, staff, & food were excellent. Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection of local produce , and very nicely presented . Evening meal was also very good . All served with a genuine smile .
Was slightly disappointed with our choice of room . We chose a room with a four poster , however, the room was ( in our opinion) too small for one , as it was tucked in a smallish space , so lost its appeal slightly . We could not see the TV from the bed because of the four posters rails obscuring! , and the TV not being wall mounted ! Had to prop it up on the waste bin ! Lighting was also poor on the side of room where dressing table & mirror are , it could benefit from a lamp there . This being said, it’s a lovely hotel , and we did enjoy our stay

The location is beautiful and the historic building is really great. The food was incredible, both at dinner and breakfast. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to resolve a couple of issues that we had. The shower has excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Our request for a twin room wasn’t received from booking.com so that caused some difficulty (but they were able to fix it for us). The beds were not very comfortable, but when we reported it the next morning, they started working on checking it out right away so I’m optimistic that will be better for future guests. It was pretty noisy with the window open until later when the restaurant patrons left.

We were given an upgrade as room has recently been renovated and owners wanted feedback. The room was excellent, huge bed and amazing bathroom, however lock on the door had been fitted the wrong way round so unable to lock door when leaving the room for dinner / breakfast. NO wardrobe or hanging space not even a hook on the back of the door, no hairdryer and the only mirror was a small free standing shaving mirror on the handbasin. We did mention these things to reception and received a shrug of the shoulders as an answer. Restaurant was excellent
We should of being able to lock the door, there won’t be much space if a wardrobe is put in the room and even less if bed side lights are added. Mirror and hairdryer would be extremely useful

A lovely comfortable place to say. The food was very good indeed. There’s a few comments saying it’s a bit expensive - but I disagree - it’s a significant cut above the average and as such is good value. The staff were all really helpful and considerate. For example, as I was packing up my motorbike about to leave the young woman serving the breakfasts came out with some spare pastries in a bag to take with me. I’d already had breakfast but these were very welcome later in the day. It’s acts of kindness that make all the difference.

The room had a feel of luxury about it, and for the age of property, I was very pleased with the water pressure in the shower. The bed was comfy, and we got a good night's sleep. Breakfast the following morning was hearty and delicious, utilising local produce, and set us up for a solid day of climbing in the local area. We are looking forward to revisiting in the future and enjoying the stunning views.
It isn't really a dislike, just a word of warning. Some of the rooms upstairs have low sections of ceilings and steps to access. Well marked "Mind your head" signs were still not enough to prevent me from walking away with a bump after hitting it. I am 6 foot tall and clumsy, so not a fault with the hotel, just a heads up to other tall and clumsy visitors.

Beautiful period hotel in stunning countryside setting. Travelling with our son who has autism can be difficult but all staff were really welcoming and couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay. Special mention for Heather for email support before our visit, Simon for making us feel so welcome, Mike our evening waiter, Jack the barman and our breakfast waiter whose name we didn't catch. All really listened to our special requests for our son and made sure his needs were met. We were advised to book for our evening meal and even though it was a Thursday evening in May it was quite busy. The food was excellent. Would highly recommend

Lovely location within walking distance of Ingleton even though we couldn't see much as the clouds were right down. Fantastic pub, with great staff, genuinely friendly and incredibly helpful. We were there for a weekend celebrating my husband's birthday and had two wonderful dinners - with Yorkshire-sized portions! We are already planning a return visit, can't wait to go back.
Our room was a bit smaller than expected and the bathroom was a bit basic, but on the other hand we'd asked for our and our son's rooms to be close together, which they were. And the bed was incredibly comfortable. It won't stop us going back though!

The room was small but spotless. The bed was very comfortable. We slept very well on the first night. The staff were friendly & attentive. The food was amazing.
Not many parking spaces so we kept ending up in the very muddy part at the back & having to walk across slippy uneven ground. I have a disability so a blue badge space on the hardstanding would have been helpful. People talking loudly under our window at 11pmish for quite some time was possibly to be expected in a hotel, & our window was above the picnic tables. But being woken at 3am by people talking loudly there again was unfortunate.

Location was ideal for visiting the Lakes and Dales. Only just off the main A65 road, but very secluded and rural, within sight of Ingleborough across the fields. Bedroom was nicely furnished and very comfortable, a little outdated, but a refurb is happening soon. Dinner menu was excellent, and the breakfast superb, especially the home made Granola and Honey. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Car parking good. Next to a graveyard but I have a friend there now, so that was nice. Rumour has it that the pub is haunted but we didn't see anyone that night!! We even visited the graveyard by torchlight in the rain, but still no-one!!!
The weather!! It was the night of Storm Babet.

I was met on entrance with a big smile and on introducing myself was upgraded to 4 poster bed room. The room was lovely, bed was a bit soft for me but not a complaint more of a preference. The heating was on, which was welcoming, we sadly had prearranged dinner so could have dinner at the premises. We arranged a breakfast to go with no trouble as we were up early 6am to do the Yorkshire Peaks. In the morning as i was the support driver i was invited back for a Full English, which o took them up on. They filled my flask and i departed, if they had had 2 night avaible we would have stayed. Lovely Host, lovely staff, great breakfast
Nothing to declare other than the fact w couldn't stay for a 2nd night,
