On the outskirts of Newcastle-under-Lyme, The Crewe Arms at Madeley Heath is a little way from all major routes and it can be busy trying to reach the M6 of a morning rush hour but there is ample onsite parking and the accommodation was very comfortable with ample toiletries, tea and coffee-making facilities. The breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared with a good choice with plenty to drink. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating and I would certainly revisit

The bath took and inordinate length of time to fill and there was a slight bit of black mould on one of the bath corners (which needs nipping in the bud). Even though it was advertised as such, there was no onsite evening dining so I had to go into Madeley to find an evening meal (which was a superb Indian restaurant named "Evening Spice" just opposite the One Stop shop on the other side of the road). The frontage of the restaurant looked a bit grim but, like the "Tardis" it opened out inside to a spacious, nicely decorated dining area with great food and superb service

it was a last minute booking, as needed to stop over in crewe for one night, greeted on arrival with a warm welcome shown to room with all relevant information in regards to times for breakfast and checking out the room I can give a 100% for comfort and amenities I can't give a review on the breakfast as dident partake due to personal preference, 100% for staff friendliness, 100% for cleanliness, ample parking will definitely be booking to stay nexst time I visit crewe, and look forward to sampling there breakfast and great evening menu,

There was absolutely nothing to complain about, and will be definitely booking to stay again

As always, it was great staying at Crewe Arms. I have stayed here a number of times because of work. It was always a very pleasant and welcoming place to return to at the end of the day and the staff and breakfast are fantastic. Thank you! I will not need to stay in the area any more as I am now retired but I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay around here.

All was as it should be!

Stayed here when we were cycling LEJOG (Lands End to John O'Groats in early May 2024). Hotel was excellent and staff were friendly. Rooms were clean with modern fittings. Hotel is situated off a main road , but set back and quiet. Hotel had storage for our bikes. Food was great , especially the Tapas and the breakfast was included in the rate. Cant fault this establishment and would stay here again if in the area.

Nothing apart from running out of our favourite beer on the night

Wow this place is a little gem. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the rooms themselves were excellent. The pub was vibrant with a great singer playing but you couldn’t hear a thing once you were in the room. The food was excellent quality and good value. Great choices for breakfast. Very impressed by the amount of products and tea, coffee etc in the room plus the room had a fridge, which is always a bonus. Really warm and comfortable, would definitely recommend.

Nothing, it suited our needs perfectly and was great value for money.

The room was large and being at the back of the property was very quiet. Beds were comfy enough and bonus was the bath which was a heaven send after a long motorbike ride. Parking set back from the rode meant we felt safe enough leaving our bikes for the night. Friendly staff.

The restaurant was closed due to the owners going away, which was understandable but would have been nice to know in advance so we could make other arrangements. We managed to find somewhere to eat a short walk down the road, which was delicious food, but could only find a table free for 5pm.

Wasn't sure when we first arrived that we had made the right choice, rooms and bar area were cold ,room heating was off but a little turn of the heater controls and the room warmed up very quickly, likewise the bathroom towel rail but overall in what was a a comfortable stay I would rate that as a minor thing. After the warm up the room was very comfortable. The real bonus in staying here is the excellent evening meal we enjoyed, my partner has coeliac disease so always a little concern when dining somewhere new but this was no problem and the gluten free meal was first class as was mine. Friendly bar to enjoy a meal and drink. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This was a journey break in our drive from Scotland to East Sussex and we left next morning for the final leg of the drive well rested and well fed after a lovely full English.

Room could have been warmer ready for us without us having to figure out how to turn heating on, or at least the person who showed us to room could have done that ,we arrived on a cold wet February day but the staff were very helpful and friendly ,breakfast was lovely but the dining area was a little too cold.

I felt over all the staff were all very welcoming & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I liked having the option to pay for an evening meal which again was every tasty & much appreciated after a long journey. I appreciated having the facilities for tea/ coffee in my room. Very convenient & useful to have free access to wiFi. The room was clean & the option to have bath & or shower was a positive. The breakfast was freshly cooked & enjoyable. The lady who was managing the breakfast sitting was polite & helpful & again nothing was too much trouble for her. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

I could not fault the stay, however I would have appreciated was having an option for a desert after my meal even if it was something simple like ice cream or cake & or biscuits. Maybe this could be considered for the future.

Amazing friendly staff. I was well looked after upon arrival. The evening meal of hunters chicken was excellent and more than enough for a hungry traveller. The room very large and quiet and included the usual repertoire of kettle, drinks and complimentary biscuits. The room fridge and bottled water was a bonus. The traditional decor may appear dated, but it is in keeping with the old skool building. Breakfast was also great.

There is nothing significant to dislike. The location is a little remote but you have everything you need.

location is a fairly rural area so nice and quiet. On checking in I was met by Miguel, who checked me in and showed me to my room. Once in, I then went back to the bar for a drink, (great selection of beers by the way). I got some change for the pool table and after one frame, Miguel came and joined me....Thank Miguel, you made me feel like a regular to the pub not a visitor. Room was clean and well equip, Shower was powerful, and Cooked breakfast set the day off. Would I stay here again, ABSOLUTLEY..in fact I would be prepared to stay here and then travel a little bit extra it was so good. Well done Miguel and the Team

In my eyes, I think for the money, you cannot get better than this place...
