Great welcome and local info for a morning dog walk. Room and restaurant spotlessly clean. Staff extremely polite. Breakfast continental selection very good and hot food excellent. Very pet friendly - waitress reset my table to outdoors so dog was more relaxed!

An old building so creaky floorboards from upstairs woke us early. Could here next door getting ready for breakfast too. I would recommend slightly longer curtains as the sun came under and the pillow is next to window so again affected wake time.

The hotel itself is so lovely to look at, as soon as we arrived we could tell it was a friendly and inviting place. We brought our puppy along, so this was our first little trip away the 3 of us and we are expecting our first baby in October so this was a special trip for us. We are so glad we stayed at The Watermill Inn, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The venue was so dog friendly. The food we ate at the restaurant was amazing and our room was lovely too. We couldn't of asked for a better stay.

Comfortable room and bed, spacious shower room, tea & coffee making facilities in room with a lovely choice of biscuits. Breakfast & evening meals in the inn were very good.

Room a tad on the small side for family room with double bed & two singles. Nothing you couldn’t cope with though. A long wait for meals in the evening, food was cooked to order though & you were warned about this as the inn was busy & seemed very popular.

Breakfast was fantastic, and consistently very good, we had full Cumbria each morning, quality of items of plate excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful, it was nice to be asked at breakfast if we wanted to reserve a table that evening for a meal, and the table reserved by room number. We also had two evening meals in the bar area, which were excellent, and faultless, cooked to order. Location was very good, as we travelled with a dog, hotel very dog friendly. Close enough to lakeside towns, but very peaceful. Room was warm and comfortable.

What a lovely ,querky hotel in a quiet spot but not far from Windermere. Our very short stay was most enjoyable, Our room was modern and very well presented .We enjoyed the relaxed dog-friendly atmosphere, the staff made our little Westie most welcome as they did to all the dogs, dog biscuits always available! The evening meal was most acceptable with a varied menu. My husband was very pleased with the variety of beers ,of which he tried quite a few. Our stay was completed with a delicious breakfast. We shall certainly visit the Watermill again. Thanks to all at the Mill

Can`t think of any,

The breakfast was lovely as was dinner the night before. The location was perfect for what we needed. The staff were friendly and efficient. Everyone seemed welcome and the atmosphere was good.

We thought we might be able to have a brewery tour or at least talk but this wasn't available though we were able to see through to bits of the brewery through the viewing windows.

Everything was excellent , the staff the premises, the food, and the beer well that was something else, normally when you have such a wide selection of real ales there are one or two that dont suit your taste but not here, every brew was spot on.

Nothing really, I just like bigger beds, this is not a criticism just my preference, having said that the bed we had was extremely comfortable.

The staff were so lovely, they make you feel right at home. The rooms are really tidy and the furniture is top quality and really comfy. We love that dogs are allowed to stay too. The outside had as much attention to detail as the inside, particularly the flowers on every table, which you could see were looked after, which is wonderful. There were heaters outside giving the area the same feeling as the open fire does inside. You can tell that the owners and staff work really hard to keep it all looking so lovely. Being able to see where the beers were being brewed was fantastic and the choice of different ones is what makes this a cut above other places to stay. A real experience rather than just a stay somewhere. The Watermill should be on the top of the list of places to stay in the Lakes.

We struggled with the food a bit, we had an 80th birthday and unfortunately the guest of honour had to send back his gammon as it was inedible and the 2nd 1 was not as bad as the 1st one but it was still overcooked. We also found the chips were really hot when they arrived but then they went rock hard when they were cooler. The same thing happened with the cooked breakfasts, the bacon and sausages went solid as they cooled down. Which is such a shame as everything else was so wonderful.

We returned yesterday from an overnight trip to the beautiful Lake District and stay at the Watermill Inn. The drive up to the accommodation was lovely and the location of the hotel is great of the price. The room was everything we needed and the bed was so comfy we are going to purchase a new mattress for home today! We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had a cooked breakfast on the morning of departure. Both meals were phenomenal, the full Cumbrian breakfast was one of the best breakfasts i have had. There were continental options and the coffee was perfect. Finally, the service was excellent! From the staff who collected glasses to the AMAZING Holly behind the bar, everyone was really friendly and attentive. Us and our dog Barry had the best time, we will be back!

The room was comfortable & clean. Nice to have quality tea/coffee facilities. The range of choice & quality of the breakfast was exceptional as were the evening meals. The novelty of in house brewed beer was enjoyable. The staff were friendly without being too familiar & always someone available to help if needed. They showed genuine interest in making our stay the best it could be.Highly recommended 👍😊

The resident door did bang loudly at times! It was important that it was shut correctly for security but maybe some adjustment or slow close part could be fitted
