We had a very warm welcome on arrival and had a lovely, spacious room with large bathroom. The breakfast choice was very good and we also had dinner on the evening we arrived. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind and tried their best to meet our requirements.. The location was excellent as we had booked to see the Christmas lights at Blenheim. I would highly recommend the location for a visit to Woodstock and Blenheim throughout the year. We would definitely return.

With regards to the room, the only thing I would like to have had would have been a much greater choice of teas, including herbal ones.

What a charming place! It is centrally located in Woodstock and walkable to Blenheim Palace. I absolutely loved the staff! They were so kind and helpful, especially at breakfast. Speaking of which, the breakfast choices were awesome and we loved trying new things. The yogurt parfait was the best I've had! The rooms are very clean. The Crown is easily accessible by bus from London.

Our room was on the very top floor, and the stairs were a bit difficult to navigate with luggage. BUT ... I understand it's an old building and it was a temporary issue. Plus, the man who checked us in helped carry some of our luggage and I appreciate that! I also didn't love the bath tub in the middle of the room with no privacy, but it was a nice tub and very clean. Next time, I'll pay a little extra for a room with a shower. :)

Everything was great from the moment we arrived until we checked out. Room was amazing, bed was really comfortable, nice to have a sofa to sit on instead of just the bed. Was a nice surprise to get ground coffee and a cafetiere alongside a teapot and loose tea leaves and a bottle of milk not just a couple of little longlife milk pods. The Cowshed products in the bathroom were lovely and the quality of the handsoap was top notch, that there were toothbrushes provided was an unexpected bonus too. Food was delicious, not a huge menu but that was not an issue for us and I have to say the crispy squid was possibly the best I have ever had. The wine list was slightly bigger and had a good selection to choose from. Really like the 50cl carafe size and thought it offered good value. Breakfast was cooked to order and a great choice and it was as equally tasty as the dinner the night before. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and seemed genuinely interested in our trip. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. It is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds and only a walk away from Blenheim Palace.

We didn't come across anything we were not happy with.

Great location, heart of town, a few blocks from side entrance to Blenheim Palace gardens -- go up the main street until it dead-ends and you will enter the totally beautiful gardens! We enjoyed our first experience of a "room over pub", just like in the olden days. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was kind and helpful and energetic. Bed was comfy. After hours exit was interesting but manageable (separate stairway, separate key -- but it worked fine).

We're flexible travelers who like "character hotels" so this was great for us, but if you are looking for traditional upscale places, there are a few other pricier options in Woodstock (don't google Blenheim; instead google Woodstock to find them).

Very cosy room, comfortable bed. Gorgeous cowshed toiletries. Really friendly staff, delicious breakfast (possibly the best full English I’ve ever had!). Beautiful decor. Fresh milk for the coffee and tea in the room.

Very minor…a drippy teapot in the room! Some minor diy needed to the to a couple of things in the room like a wobbly towel rail and window lock. Didn’t bother us but we thought it was strange with the amount of space in the room that there wasn’t a shower other than the hand held one over the bath.

We stayed at the Crown for one night as we were attending Nocturne at Blenheim Palace and it was the perfect location. Our room was spacious, beautifully styled and a super comfy bed. Loved the bathroom products (especially the toothbrushes as I forgot mine) and once we’d worked out it was cafetière coffee, not instant, we enjoyed our hot drinks. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Nice atmosphere in the bar, staff friendly and helpful. And our breakfast was amazing! We would definitely stay here again.

More coat hangers in the wardrobe would’ve been good but that’s a minor niggle. The Crown doesn’t have parking which might be a problem for some but the manager directed us to a free car park very close by.

We stayed in room 4 which was a very nice, spacious room with lots of nice decorative touches and clean bed linen, towels etc. The lighting was nice and made the room comfortable plus the origional art and ecletic mix or antique and modern furniture add lots of character. The bathroom was also large and well appointed with an excellent walk in shower and soaker.

There was a small amount of noise from an extractor fan from the kitchen below which ran all night. Its didn't distrub our sleep but was noticable nethertheless.

The Hotel is well situated for everything in Woodstock, Blenheim Palace & Winston Churchills final resting place. The interior of the venue has been very well designed & finished. We were allocated Room No 5 which was " Up in the heavens " & was spacious, clean, tidy & very quirky. The room had a large very comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant that evening excellent food & drink, the Staff were all very Polite & professional A great breakfast was consumed the following morning.

Very satisfied with everything.

I have stayed at the Crown on 2 separate occasions this year and have no doubt that I will do so again. Great location in the centre of the historic town and a short walk to Blenheim Palace if you’re interested in visiting the sights. The pub is cosy and welcoming and the staff is always friendly and super helpful. My room was spotless and extremely comfortable; a spacious double with ample storage for a short stay, with a great walk in shower in the en suite. The high quality shower gels and shampoo is a really nice touch.

However, on my last visit, although I had a kettle and a bottle of milk in the fridge, I was not provided with any crockery or tea & coffee. Im sure this was just an oversight, but, as I needed to leave early in the morning, and breakfast is not served until 8.30, I had to pop into a nearby cafe to buy a coffee before my drive back to London.

The breakfasts were outstanding. We stayed two nights and had the full English first and scrambled egg on smoked salmon on toast the second morning. Coffee great and real freshly-squeezed orange juice. Everything cooked to order...really couldn't be better! Staff very helpful.

Our room, No2, had a super shower and was equipped with shabby-chik furniture which would appeal to the Americans. But the lighting was dreadful - at it's brightest it was impossible to see your face in a mirror for shaving (me) or drying your hair/putting on make-up (my wife). Bed very comfortable but traffic noise very intrusive (windows sealed up, presumably to combat this...didn't work).
