Very big car park so no parking problems. Excellent bar . Good selection of food for your evening meal which was tasty and reasonably priced for a hotel. Very good cooked breakfast , bacon, egg ,sausage, beans , tomatoes ,hash brown, toast , usual cold selection ,yoghurt , fruit, selection of cereals and plenty of tea and coffee Bedroom well equipped with everything you could need, flat screen tv with plenty of channels, hair dryer ,and the dressing table with chair and a socket for hair dryer next to the mirror . Beds were clean and comfortable The staff were courteous and professional and are a credit to the hotel .
The shower did not work at all during our stay which after reading reviews would seem to be an issue with other rooms and not just a one off problem for our room. I have brought this to the attention of the hotel management and would hope the poor shower quality is being addressed as not all guests are physically able to take a bath.

A very pleasant family-run hotel in the Scottish Borders, which exceeded my expectations in several important ways. The food was outstanding. No fancy stacks or smears of sauce, just beautifully cooked simple dishes which tasted fab e.g. three large, fat lamb chops with fresh veg and a red wine sauce and a lovely pork schnitzel in breadcrumbs. Puddings were excellent too, especially a raspberry meringue. The simplicity of the dishes (probably preferred by the older clientele) gave the chef nowhere to hide. Next (in my order of priorities) was the ale. So often I have visited a "real ale" pub (including some displaying cask marque) and have been disappointed with the quality or condition. Not here. Two ales, rotated during my stay and beautifully kept. Farne Island was particularly good. The whole place is spotless, the rooms are simple but comfortable, the staff are friendly and the place appeared deservedly popular. Any landlord wishing to increase their trade should take a close look and learn from this place.
All the critical points were nailed here.

Attractive old traditional.hotel near the heart of attractive Nothumbrian town known as Wooler. Warm welcome. Very helpful staff. Attractive garden with tables at the back and plenty of parking.
The Curtains in the bedroom, when drawn would cut off the flow of heat from the central heating radiator located below the only window, from the room. Surely in cold weather this wastes energy, and yet I often see this in hotels across the UK. Why send a significant proportion of a hotel room's expensively produced heat into the garden? I note an expensive to run electric radiator was also provided.

The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The room was a great size and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good but not exceptional, hearty if you were going out walking.
Decor needs updating, the plumbing in my room needed to be looked at , although the staff did know about the few defects. The macerator was noisy and would go off at any time. The menu for lunch and dinner also needs updating dating. It was the same everyday with the exception of the special board.

The Tankerville Arms is ideally located for exploring the beautiful Northumberland coast and countryside. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the property was full of character with a cosy, open fire in the bar area. My room was well equipped and ideal for a solo traveller. With a very comfortable bed and the quiet, peaceful location I slept amazingly well. The breakfasts and other food which I had were freshly cooked with generous helpings and different options were available. Good on-site parking.
Nothing really, I enjoyed my stay thoroughly.

Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Felt like staying with a family despite being a hotel. Good breakfast, lots of parking, They were great with my dog, and happily accommodated (if not doted!) on her.
The hotel is tired. Could definitely use some modernising. The shower had to be run for 10 minutes to come through warm, and wasn't overly powerful. Limited dairy free options (no desserts).

Food was very good and staff were lovely. Choice of drinks also very good. Evening meals were great. Property was in a lovely quiet area on the outskirts of Wooler.
Facilities within the room were generally good. However, what let it down, was the fact that the tap and shower were not really up to standard and did not work very efficiently.

Staff were excellent, great breakfast, well located for our trip home. Plenty of free parking on site.
The hotel was dated but had to remind myself that it was mostly 17th. century. Had room no. 16 and the bathroom although functional was very small. Although had double room, I think it was slightly over priced for single occupancy.

The staff were very friendly, always checking I was okay, made sure I had no problems at all while I stayed despite the fact that was very, very tired and probably not very coherent. Breakfast was superb although I was the only one there which meant they had a far easier time handling me. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfy.

Fantastic value for money for a one night stay if you’re passing through Wooler. Staff were very helpful and as well as the included breakfast I had a great evening meal on arrival.
