Breakfast was what we expected for a hotel breakfast. It provided all we needed. It was convenient to be able to eat on site. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds, especially the pillows, were extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed the spacious parlor-like sitting rooms and lobby, and we had access to refreshments every night. Very nice for visiting, playing board games. The location was exactly where we needed to be. Rooms were a little dated but after all it is advertised as historic and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Bathrooms appear to have been recently renovated, very nice. Will definitely stay here again.

No complaints. A little noisy at times but there was construction going on close to hotel.

I love the charm of this place and the history behind it! It was clean, the staff was so friendly, loved the breakfast ( it was our favorite ). Location is spot on within walking distance of everything. Right in the heart of the burg. Also, get a complimentary cookie-you won’t regret it!

Sewage smell in shower , but not a big deal

It was right on the strip could walk to restaurants, shops & attractions.

The bed needed a new mattress. I didn't sleep well, hurt my back.

Very historical which was a cool experience rather than the big box hotels. Great to walk out the front door and onto the Main Street.

Well, I don’t feel it’s a hotel’s responsibility to be political. And this goes for the entire town, which is one reason we won’t be back. I don’t like to eat my breakfast to FOX news. We all have TVs in our room. If I were to have asked for a channel change, I feel would not have been well received. So we relaxed and ate on the other side of the wall. Show local news, the food channel, reruns of the I LOVE LUCY show anything but FOX, also to be fair, not the ‘left’ channels as well. Something totally middle of the road. If they talk to the other businesses, we walked out of many, and only gave our money to neutral businesses. But as mentioned, onto a different place, even though Gatlinburg was beautiful.

I love how everything is walking distance from the hotel!! perfect spot in my opinion

The haunted house located behind the hotel plays their music really loud until ungodly hours of the night.

The location was perfect for walkability. The historic inn's common areas were a lovely reminder of the history of the hotel. Breakfast was hot and fresh every morning. Plenty of hot water for showers.

Be aware the walls are thin. Parking is limited at the front of the building. If you park in back there is a pretty good hill to go up and down to get to the entrance. Best to unload and load at the entrance which means exiting the property to drive around the block to get back to the front entrance. Not much of a hassle but just know.

we LOVED the location of the hotel it was right in the middle of the strip so one day we went one way the next the other. we never had to move the car. they have a security/bellhop on duty all day he was very friendly. there breakfast was awesome they have staff on duty to help if you need it food was hot they had choices and the staff was very friendly and talked to you. I hate the “be seen and not heard” rule for most hotels. the one issue we had (at first) was we booked what we thought was a room with a walk in shower we ended up a tub. at first I was a but annoyed about this but after a full day of walking the strip I ended up going “right” next door to Walgreens (another plus for location) and getting some epsom salt and soaking in the tub which should also tell you how clean the bathrooms were as rule I would never have done this in a hotel room no mater my discomfort. it’s called the Historic Gatlinburg Inn I joked it was prehistoric. they’ve made upgrades where they can but they’ve kept the old look about it, the rooms have an almost log cabin type of feel to them. so if you’re set on tech modern this is not the hotel for you they still use key locks. We enjoyed it because it was a peaceful/family vibe and yes historic lots of pictures and history to go with place. the front porch is set up with lots of rocking chairs and a fire place and you encouraged to sit and enjoy people watching. we enjoyed this a lot the second and third day we would go out walk and shop for awhile and go back to the hotel sit outside for a bit rest and then go back out some more. Everything from the furthest point each way is no more then about a 20 minute walk either way depending on what you want to do. there really is no need to leave the hotel once you check in if your staying in Gatlinburg for your whole trip.

parking is a bit cramped, there was a lot of construction going on (April 2023) if you want the walk-in shower be sure to ask about that on check in if it what you booked to avoid any disappointment.

I loved the hospitality! It is an older inn but that makes it all the better. Fresh baked cookies, coffee (coco for the kids) and a front porch fire and rocking chairs had my heart. Oh it was great! Breakfast was perfect, the gentleman who runs that kitchen never stops but has it all under control and the front desk ladies are awesome. I met the maintenace manager who was also so pleasent. There are multiple sitting rooms to enjoy and I even played one of the piano's. The property sit directly next door to skylift city...so convenient. My kids love this inn the best of all the places we stay on our mountain vacation. So did we! We even enjoyed the pool which was nice and warm and wavied at folks coming and going on the skylift. My favorite was people watching from the front porch... so nice, peaceful. My bed was sooo comfy. Room perfectly fine, older but still clean and functionable. Highly recommend!!!!

Not one bad thing to report.

We loved the location, and the staff went well above in our opinion, extremely friendly and helpful. They had some snacks & drinks you could purchase if needed. We also appreciated the "yesterday" feel of it!

Understandably, with a location as old as this on, the walls are very thin, and you can hear just about everything outside of your room, everything from neighboring rooms, halls, upstairs etc. Also equally understandable, again with the age of this facility, there are very limited wall outlets, therefore, there is no mini fridge or microwaves in rooms, and your also limited on charging your electric devices.

Location is great! Right on the strip handy to all the shops and attractions . Cozy old fashioned place. Staff and breakfast were awesome. Everyone so nice. Contrary to previous comments they did have sausage at breakfast on Thursday. Food was good and the guy taking care of it was very conscientious about doing a good job. I loved sitting on our balcony on the rocking chairs watching the ppl on the street. It’s an older historical part of the town with class!

I guess a little updating of the furnishings in the rooms would make it better but honestly it kind of added to the charm of the place. We will stay again if we go back to Gatlinburg!
