Rather ideas for improvement: - Offer more than one social event per week - Adding kitchen towels and some bigger bowls - Label the freezer and the fridge - Instead of single packaged toiletries, you could offer dispensers in the showers :)

First off, the location is a perfect 10/10. I stayed in a dorm room with three bunk beds. The bed itself was comfy, with a small but bright enough reading light and two handy little wooden shelves. There are power outlets for plugging in your devices. Each bunk has a curtain all the way around, which really gives you privacy in your own space. It also has two pretty roomy lockers. The staff are super attentive and friendly. The hostel has absolutely everything you could need: towels, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, earplugs, razors, combs, moisturizer, toilet paper, and even face masks. The kitchen is really well-equipped, and the common room is so cozy. You can access both the rooms and the main door using the same key card. So, all in all, I'm completely satisfied and really happy I chose HighRoad.

I don't think three bathrooms cut it.

We had a fantastic stay at Highroad Hostel in Washington, DC! We stayed in a two-level queen room on the top floor, which was very clean and comfortable. The location is excellent—right in the heart of Adams Morgan, surrounded by great bars, cafes, and restaurants. The staff was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There were plenty of food options nearby, and the free coffee and tea available at any time at the hostel was a nice bonus. The Wi-Fi connection was excellent, and the hostel is close to a bus station. On our first day, we walked to downtown DC, and it took only about 25 minutes. The hostel was very quiet at night—either we were lucky with respectful guests or the quiet hours after 10 PM are well followed. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting DC!

There is no elevator

No breakfast was offered. I had my own staffs & cook for my self. However, the general atmosphere & the working staff were really nice & helpful.

Poor communication with the HighRoad directly before my arrival. It was a struggle. The rooms are clearly narrower than photos on the booking app. It would be preferable if they also offer like a credit for uber or bus transportation if needed. Also, although the location is central & reachable within DC, a lot of noisefrom the surrounding coffee shops was a source of madness for me & roommates, too

• free toiletries. toothbrushes, soap, toothpaste, pads, tampons, all travel sized too. really convenient and really useful. theyre dotted around in little stations so you dont have to go all the way to the desk to get something • beds are wide and long. lots of personal space • something ive never seen before, theres a pad at the head of the bed. like a headboard. so you can comfortably sit up in bed !! awesome • so much shelf space in the bed WOW two long and deep shelves • personal lamp • coloured LED strip lights with remote • 2 huge lockers !!!! with a rail and 2 hooks inside • plenty of shelf space in the shower • 5 hooks in each bathroom • a couple bus stops nearby • close to a safeway, 7/11, and cvs • stairs up to the bed had glow in the dark strips so you could see where you were going at night without turning the light on • the curtain didnt have metal on it i cant think how to describe it but the way the curtain was attached to the pole was just fabric so drawing it was completely silent • stairs up to the bed rather than a ladder • rooms were spacious. i stayed in a similar sized room the week before that had 8 beds in it, but my room in this hostel only had 3 everything was perfect and it went above my expectations. i still cant get over the free pads and tampons, such a lifesaver as i needed some but i didnt want to buy an entire pack, i only needed a couple. theyre good pads too, not the thin pathetic ones. staff were lovely. thankyou

• there were only 2 bathrooms in our hallway, despite this i only had to wait to use the bathroom one time, but thats because i got up to shower at about 7am each day. they got busy at around 10am • our room faced a busy street full of bars. late at night, you could hear music and general noise from this street. personally it didnt bother me because i actually like a bit of noise but if you cant sleep through that then its something to note. i could hear music on saturday, sunday, and monday night but on tuesday night it was silent these are very nitpicky points, i struggled to find any fault with this property

The property was amazing the staff were so friendly and the other guests were really nice. The shared kitchen was so clean. The hostel felt so safe with a key pad to enter and it felt very homely inside. They were so good at holding luggage we got there at 8am on check in day we stored our luggage got changed, showered used the common areas. And they also left us to keep using the facilities till we left at 7pm on check out day. You did need to buy a padlock to lock the storage boxes but they had some for $5 so wasn’t an issue.

The only negative would be the location it was about a 30 min walk or 20 min bus to the center however it wasn’t a problem the buses were regular and we Uber back at night which was about $20

Loved the location and the coziness of the place. Right in the middle of everything in the neighborhood with lots of recommendations. Staff was super friendly, coffee available 24/7 is nice, and room w the loft was small but comfy for 3 of us. We weren't in our room too much so that wasn't a big deal. Wi-Fi fast, great common areas. If you're looking for a unique place to stay, this is it!

Bumped my shins on things because the room was close quarters, but that's on me. Loft stairs are steep! About 10-15 min walk to the Metro. Mostly this is FYI, it didn't bother me at all. I had a great stay!

It was very clean and quiet. I loved that all the toiletries were unscented; the shower was wonderful; and having lots of hooks around the room made it very easy to hang up clothes & backpack. Despite being small, there was plenty of room to move around. It was super helpful to have a suitcase stand, so I didn't have to get down on the floor to get things out of my suitcase. The kitchen downstairs had a refrigerator, hot water, cups and tea/coffee. There were extra toiletries if needed. I arrived late in the evening and Karishma made me feel very welcome; she continued to be helpful, kind over the next few days. Having a personal connection with someone like Karishma was exactly the reason for my being in a small place and not a big, cold, corporate type of hotel.

I like the place is very clean and the quite hour. The stuffs are very helpful and friendly which make it nice for someone who have never been DC. before.

What I don't like is the bathroom facilities, first is the shower head and the water not powerful enough which make the shower time longer because the water is so slow which can't take a quick shower because is not clean. As we have six people stay in one room which will slow down everyone. I suggest change the shower head. Second, the toilet cannot flush because the hander fall off and I have to fix it in order to flush the toilet. Please permanently fix it. I stay in room 223.

This hostel has both group and individual rooms. I find hostels are a great way to travel because of all of the interesting people you meet from around the world. I was in Washington, DC for the funeral of president Jimmy Carter and there were many other people staying at the hostel for the same reason. Conversations late into the night were fun and meaningful. The Thursday Night free beer happy hour was great. Fun to share a beer with an international room full of guests.

The location and price were the reasons I chose the location, but after going I realized that the great people I met and the clean and inviting group spaces were the true treasure.
