A trendy and luxurious small boutique hotel located along the canal. A welcoming entrance to the hotel as it was filled with about two dozen live Christmas trees. Very nicely decorated rooms. Cozy bar with roaring fireplace. Centrally located and within just a few hundred yards of the main square and numerous chocolate stores! Visited during Christmas season and was able to walk everywhere. Staff was very friendly, helpful and forthcoming with advice. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Loved the location and the plus of our room was canal level with patio.

Having the room on the lower level was good but also bad in that the hallway had an ejector and it smelled bad of sewer gas. Also this room is directly under the lounge fireplace area. Thankfully guests wrapped up around 11PM or else we would have not been able to sleep with the banging noises from above. I can only give this place an 8 because of this. I don't know what the other rooms were like. I also don't like when hotels run $100 charge when I already prepaid the room and then credit the charge back several days after checkout. No need for that in my opinion.

The location is perfect with entrance on a quiet side street. Other side faces the canal. The decor is very Belgian and beautiful. They have a sitting room that appears to be right out of a movie with vintage comfy chairs, paintings and books. Window looks to canal. Everything worked. They have a terrace on the canal for food. You can reach most parts of Bruges within a 15 minute walk. There is a police station on same street. Very safe. You can buy tickets for a canal tour by boat nearby. Several restaurants nearby including omnipresent Waffle cafes and chocolate shops. Room was decent size as was bathroom and shower. Bed was comfortable. All of the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. We met Corinne, Lara, Maria and Babette. They enhance the experience. You get a key for the room with a vintage key chain, not a card. Special. We would definitely return

If I had to say one thing I think it would be the air conditioner. It worked and the windows opened for cool air but if we were there during the summer, it might be an issue for Americans not used to less power on the ac.

Wow! On arrival into Bruges, I was greeted with snow. On arrival at the hotel, I was greeted with the most magical Christmas display I could imagine! Christmas trees, lights, music, beautiful decorations . . stunning! The hotel is perfectly located on the canal and it is easily walkable to restaurants and cafes, chocolate shops, Christmas Markets, churches and museums and other attractions. I arrived at the hotel early and though I couldn't access my room immediately, I was emailed within the hour to say it was ready. I appreciated this. My room 213 was small, but ample for my two night stay. My view each night was the Belfry! The room exuded gorgeous old world charm with a super comfortable bed. The bathroom was well supplied with products, a free standing shower and a wall heater that made drying of clothes simple. I appreciated the still and sparkling water that was provided and Reception staff were happy to refill when needed. I had breakfast on the first morning of my stay - there was a wide variety of cereal, yogurt and fruit, together with a hot and cold food selection and delicious pastries. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were also served in the charming breakfast room with beautiful china. The voucher for a complimentary drink in the bar during my stay and a packet of cookies on leaving were a special touch. Hotel staff were constantly helpful in providing maps, information and booking taxis. This was not my first stay at this hotel and after this beautiful Christmas visit, I know it won't be my last!

The staff, the cozy nook in the living room with the balcony window seat overlooking the river, having Christmas breakfast! Friendly, enthusiastic staff who know hospitality. A charming, cheerful room overlooking the interior courtyard, so sunny but quiet. It is beautiful but unfussy and has a great location! Everyone was so helpful and made you feel welcome. The best part is that the hotel is on the canal and is on a side street, so no tourists are parading in front. My only wish is for a restaurant, even a café not just breakfast...

Either lose the wall-to-wall carpet or get a vacuum made for carpets. In all the hotels in the world, I never had a problem, but they didn't vacuum. Then I saw they had a vacuum for parquet floors. No wonder as you can't clean a carpet with that. So that was a challenge to get it clean, but finally they did it, and what a difference.

From the Christmas trees that lined the entrance, to the view of the canal, it was magical! Bonus: As we were preparing to journey out in to the village we heard music and looked out the window. We watched the entire Christmas parade from our windows! Room 110 … 👍👍

Personal peeve … At night I make my way to the bathroom in the dark, hoping not to wake fully. But here there is an automatic light when you enter the bathroom and it’s bright. So small on the scale of things. Oh, the other … We are in Belgium and while the breakfast bar was wonderful, no Belgian waffles? Looked like Eggo’s. Sigh. Really no true complaints! HIGHLY recommend you stay at this perfectly located hotel. *We were not driving and can only imagine how difficult it might have been as this was during Winter Gloed.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Very elegant and comfortable hotel. All the staff were very polite and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Perfect location for our first trip to beautiful Bruges.

Nothing not to like

The hotel has fantastic decor - it is not of modern style, but it has character which is what we like from a city break hotel. Dumon chocolates upon arrival and a free drink each was appreciated. The continental breakfast was lovely and there were lots of pastry options. The local canal boat trip was right outside the back of the hotel, which was really handy. The overall location was absolutely perfect. Staff are really polite and helpful. Everywhere smelled fantastic and was really clean.

Wasn't a huge fan of the frosted, unlockable doors on the bathroom. A couple were checking out when we arrived and they were provided with a snack and water for their journey, but we were not offered the same when we left.

The room was great, with tall ceilings. The bathroom was huge, almost the size of the room itself. Everything was clean and nice. The interior of the hotel, and the rooms, are uniquely designed. Their breakfast was delicious. The staff was amazingly hospitable. We absolutely loved our stay there.

The desk in the room was a beautiful antique, but entirely unpractical. There were some cobwebs near the ceiling, but I guess it's expected, considering how tall they were. Overall, it didn't affect our stay much.

The front desk staff was super welcoming, helpful and kind. When you arrive at the hotel, the first thing you will notice is the smell of cookies and chocolate (comfort smell, feels like you arrive at some of that delicious stores). The hotel’s location is super good, near around main attractions. Super easy. The breakfast is also delicious. About our room, comfortable bed, sheets and pillows. Shower was very good too.

The cleaning service after we were already in the hotel wasn’t nice. We had our bed made, but the rest remained in the same way that we left.
